All good spy stories should have a sense of realism and this does in spades, it's clear the author understands the world he is writing about. Tense and well paced with good characterization.

Tense, sparingly written, exciting and packed full of tradecraft. This was an exhilarating read and I will shortly be catching up with Alan Judd’s back catalogue. A superior spy thriller.

Russian defectors are dying in mysterious circumstances. The former head of MI6 is asked to help find out more about the substance used and how their new identities have been found.

Fast paced and believable ‘Queen and Country’ is a thoroughly enjoyable thriller set in the present day. I have never read any of Alan Jude’s previous novels but I enjoyed the style of this book and will seek out more.

Thank you to the author and Simon and Schuster for the Advanced Reader Copy of this novel. The views are my own.

Charles Thoroughgood returns in Alan Judd’s Queen & Country which is an excellent spy thriller from an author who definitely knows how to weave plot and draw the reader in.
