A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This book describes how Julia and her girls have coped after the breakdown of Julia's marriage and her divorce from Eddie. The feelings and emotions are described so well that it is easy to.understand how Julia has been devastated by the events. The following events (Hillary's impending wedding) allow for development of the characters, whilst the thread of romance with Heath provides a plotline that weaves through events and emotions.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book was so perceptive, and not just about a typical 'second chance romance'. The story was interesting and credible although I was amazed by Julia's willingness to continue to help Eddie mend fences with his daughters - I don't think I could have been so forgiving!
I agree that this book is suitable for Maeve Binchy and Patricia Scanlan readers, it is a very good tale about relationships.

It's been nearly six years since Julia Jones had her heart broken. After her husband fell in love with another woman, Julia fought to keep her family together, but now, recalling the words of her beloved father, she realises it's time to move on: it's better this way.

Desperate for a fresh start, Julia sells the family home and moves into an apartment complex, and she's delighted to discover that her new abode comes with a gorgeous new neighbour. Heath is a welcome change from the men Julia usually dates, and as a divorcé himself he understands the difficulties of a fractured family all too well.

As a relationship between Julia and Heath blossoms, Julia dares to dream that her life is looking up - until a dramatic revelation threatens their newfound happiness. Will Julia, Heath find a way through - and will it be together? Such a well crafted novel, compelling enough to pull you through and very quick read. I enjoyed it so much from the first page till the end.

A lovely wholesome read from Debbie Macomber.

It's always sad when a marriage ends, but sometimes there is a better future.

Enjoyable book which explores the complexities of second marriages and blended families.

Debbie Macomber is an old school author who churns out feel good, chick lit books that always make you smile and are always perfect pool side books or books that you want to read when you want some feel good escapism.

In this book we meet Julie whose husband left her for another woman six years ago. She has held her family together for the past six years and now it's time to move on and to a life for herself.

So Julia sells the family home and moves into an apartment. Where she meets Heath whose own family life resembles her own. Could they be the perfect tonic that each other needs to be able to mend each others broken hearts.

I love Debbie Macomber books and was pleased to receive an arc copy from Netgalley and the Publisher. This is the story of 2 families struggles to come to terms with Separation and Divorce. Although adult children are considered to be able to cope with the situation, in this case 2 daughters and their Father have not had any contact for 6 years. It is one of the girls engagement and future wedding that eventually breaks the ice. It is an amazing twist of fate that the deserted Wife and Husband of the affair that rocked their world by chance meet and begin to form a friendship. They each have 2 children who cannot believe the situation and none of them give them their blessing. I really enjoyed this book and thoroughly recommend it.

I’d like to thank Little, Brown Book Group UK and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘It’s Better This Way’ by Debbie Macomber in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

It’s six years since Julia’s husband Eddie left her for Lee whom he met while giving her golf lessons. Julia now lives alone in an apartment at ‘The Heritage’ where she meets Heath a new neighbour who’s also been through a divorce, and the more time they spend together the greater their friendship grows. They become romantically involved but what they discover threatens their future happiness together.

I’ve been an avid reader of Debbie Macomber since discovering the Cedar Cove series so I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to read ‘It’s Better This Way’. This is a warm and romantic novel that doesn’t disappoint and has definitely enriched my reading experience. The story is unashamedly romantic with truly likeable characters that I want to know more about and how they move forward to the next phase of their lives. It’s such an easy novel to read that I finished it in a day and with its lovely and warm conclusion it’s left me with the feel-good factor. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and can wholeheartedly recommend it.

When your marriage breaks down due to your spouse leaving you for someone else your self esteem takes a battering. Moving on six years later and you have moved on but your adult children still have a fractured relationship with their father and his not so new wife.
A chance meeting opens up a new relationship but not without outside issues. How unfortunate your ex husband is married to your new romantic partner ex wife. They cheated on both of you to be with each. Can the new romance survive the family pressure to walk away from each other.

What a delicious, original romp of a book! Julia is getting her life back on track as she recovers from her divorce . Having sold the marital home and finding the apartment of her dreams ,she bumps into a fellow resident of her apartment complex, the dashing Heath, who is also recovering from a broken marriage. Both have been badly hurt and determined not to get drawn into another relationship but find themselves getting ever closer. However, their children have something to say about it ! At times, sad,at times funny, this sweet story has everything to keep you engaged and entertained.

Pick up a Debbie Macomber book and you know you are in for a good read. This book follows Julia and the effects of the break up of her marriage on herself and her daughters. When Julia meets Heath can she overcome the traumas that having a relationship with him causes? I warmed to Julia and her kind attitude in trying to heal the hurt between her ex and her daughters and really enjoyed the book.

Another fab romance from Debbie Macomber with complicated family twists throughout.

How do you cope when a marriage of more than 30 years breaks down? It may seem too late for another relationship and if there are hurdles in the way, the chances of one working are slim.
The story follows Julia's story and how complicated family drama threatens a new potential relationship.

Overall this was a great read that I flew through. Loved it.
