This is the latest book in the Cornish Cream Tea series.
It's a sweet, cosy love story. Local myths and legends are also woven into the story. Great escapism and an easy read.

Highly recommend if you love bookshops, love, sausage rolls, love, determined ladies, love, adorable men, love, and bookshops. Oh and chocolate labs named after Austen's second best leading man: Henry Tilney. I'm a Frederick Wentworth girl myself but Henry is pretty wonderful.
Thank you NetGalley for this free ARC.

Such a warm festive story. of sparkling love between Ollie and Max. I loved every chapter - Christmas romance
at its best. A delicious tale and a lovely mix of Yule cheer and Cornish mystery.. An extremely enjoyable
read.

In the previous book in this series, we were introduced to the new bookshop that was going to open in Port Karadow, A New Chapter. This book is certainly a new chapter for Ollie who after suffering an injury leading to her having a long time off work in a bookshop in London, throws everything into starting a new life in Cornwall.
The job at A New Chapter is the perfect fit and she can use all her skills to help this new venture flourish. Ollie hops some of her ideas will not just get the customers in the shop spending money but add to the community spirit which seems strong. Ollie never experienced any of that in London.
Ollie certainly makes her mark in the area pretty quickly whether it be organising a ghostly Halloween walk or a cooking class in the bookshop with some interesting outcomes! Of course she is also helping her friend’s grandfather type up his memoirs, and here she discovers all the local myths and legends that seem to exist around Cornwall and especially Port Karadow. Some old out of print mystery novels spark Ollie’s interest and she seems keen to find out their true origin.
Ollie is like a whirlwind and amongst all of what she is doing she catches the eye of café owner Max. Watching their relationship stumble and blossom is a fairy tale all in itself and is the perfect antidote to the manic Christmas that Ollie is planning for the shop.
A perfect bit of escapism for fans of bookshops, Christmas and cosy nights in and can be read independently of any of the other books in the series. A great big hug in a book.

Christmas+bookshop are a sort of magnet and I must read these type of books. Festive, heartwarming and well plotted, a lovely and entertaining story.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

Another stunning book in the Cornish Cream Tea series. Full of festive warmth and a bookshop with some new characters. Loved it!

A nice, very sweet story. Simple and straightforward but to be honest a little predictable and too sugary for me. I haven't previously read any of the other books in this series and wouldn't particularly want to. On the plus side, I loved the descriptions and was transported into the scenes. I wasn't particularly interested in the characters and found them quite shallow. I prefer more depth to a story and characters. My sincere thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy in exchange for an honest unbiased review.

This book is part of a series and I have only read one of the others (The Cornish Cream Tea Christmas), it was nice to revisit some of the locations in that book and there was a mention of some of the characters but really this worked as a stand alone story. This was a lovely cosy love story and I am a sucker for myths and legends so loved the way they were woven into the book too.
My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.

A young woman has a serious injury when scaffolding falls on her in the street. Being laid up for a long priod she loses her place in the rat race at work and finds that her boyfriend is indifferent to her distress. She recovers to witha different aspect of life, her job given to others and disregarded. With her life in shatters and a large insurance compensation pay out, she abandons her life in London for a new life in Cornwall with a job in a bookshop. She arrives complete with her gung ho London culture of aggressive enterprising marketing ideas little realising that she sticks out as an alien intruder. How she overcomes disaster and prejudiced and finds a friendly face and learns to merge in with the local community with all its idiosyncrasies makes the story

Thoroughly enjoyable read with plenty of lovely characters, including some old friends from a previous book, a sparkly new female lead and a twinkly chap in the coffee shop next door and some lovely scenery, described in such a way that you can smell the sea and feel the spray.
There is nothing not to love about this latest installment from Port Karadow!

Another book in this series was enough to make me put it straight to the top of my TBR! It was great to revisit Port Karadow and to see the preparations all around as Halloween and then Christmas approached. Ollie is a lovely character and a great addition to the cast of characters who come and go through these stories. Desperate to create a good impression and to make a success of her new life in Cornwall at the bookshop, not everything goes to plan and her enthusiasm, at times, begins to falter. This is where Max comes along and the chemistry between them sets the story alight. I loved the story, the characters, all the festive touches, the fact that it was set around the bookshop…. A super festive read.
Thanks to netgalley for a copy of the book

Love love love the book. I have read all of this series so it was great to hear from old favourites but you could read this as a stand alone. I loved max and plies relationship. Liam is a sweetie. I now want a Labrador too.
I loves reading about the myths of Cornwall and I'm glad Ollie found her place in it.
A great feel good book for Christmas. I'd be happy to get it in my stocking.

This was a lovely book. I love Cressida's writing and coming back to Port Karadow is always a treat,
This book does work as a standalone story, but it is a bonus to know the background of all of the characters involved.
Ollie is a newbie to the town, moving to write her friend's grandfather's memoirs, and doesn't know what the town has to offer, and the challenges and wins it brings. She goes into everything with gusto, and it is fun learning where she goes, despite a few disasters along the way!
I can't wait for the next instalment...

Always enjoy the books in this series and this one is another cracker. Embracing you into the story, you enjoy all the emotions and are left with a desire to go and visit!

I just loved the title of this book and the wonderful cover and I am so glad I requested it. What a delightful read it was.
This is number 7 in the Cornish Cream Tea Novels of which I have not read any of the others but that didn't have any effect n my reading of this wonderful book. It is the uplifting and heart-warming story of Ollie, starting a new life in an new town and a new job.
This is a wonderful feel good Christmas read and one I thoroughly enjoyed. It made me feel good, it brought ot life a cute town and some wonderful characters and it gave me the warm and fuzzies. I loved the characters, Ollie was just a ray of sunshine and both Liam and Max brought cuteness and light to this story.
This is a book to be read with a hot cup of tea and a smile on your face. I am so glad I requested and read this book. Thank you.

Beautiful! What an amazing story about friendship, love and a positive can do attitude. The connection between Ollie and Max was so vibrant, Max was such a strong quiet strength to Ollie, and I loved all his gentle arm and leg squeezes of encouragement.
Liam was a brilliant character too, I was just as enthralled in his myths as Ollie, I could totally imagine sitting in his library hanging off his every word.
It was nice to see old familiar faces and catching up with their story. This is a lovely addition to this series.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I absolutely loved this feel good book, the characters and the storyline, would recommend to others.

Part of a series titled 'Cornish Cream Tea', this book only features cream tea once but does centre around a wonderful bookshop, A New Chapter, which is trying to make its mark on the town of Port Karadow. Ollie Spencer is a fantastic character, bubbly and warm, if a little too enthusiastic at times. Her story of becoming accepted into the town, mirrors that of the new bookshop as that also becomes the focus for the community. There is a lot to like and her relationship with Liam and Max, as well as Thea are definite highlights of the book.
However, there were definitely some icky bits that didn't feel right - the antagonism from Becky was a bit too much at times, the start of the hospital scene in particular didn't flow right for me but they were little things overall.
**Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read an advanced e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own **

Cressida just knows how to write a wonderfully engaging book. I absolutely adore this series. I love catching up with all the characters and it's always such a joy to get lost in the pages of these books. This is a wonderful edition to this series and I loved it.

Another great book of the Cornish Tea series. Can be read as a standalone but it does include people and places thatr have been in previous books. A real pleasure to read and enjoy this novel and I hope there will be more to come our way. Well worth 5 stars and I recommend this book.
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
