I was lucky enough to receive this book as a wish on Netgalley - thank you to the publishers for this in exchange for an honest review.

I feel I was misled when the book was described as perfect for fans of Emily Henry - this was the major reason that I had requested to read this book, especially since it was a second chance relationship which appear to be fan favourites in new adult romance at the moment, myself one of them.

I wish the publishers had allowed reviewers to read the first few pages online to decide whether or not to request this book, as I knew within a few pages that this was not for me. I found the writing to be very stilted and longwinded, throwing in as many tropes and common phrases from other popular romance novel as possible. For me, it didn't read well, and the characters felt flat and undeveloped

Jazmine Prado is a young, but old-fashioned print journalist. The problem for Jazmine is print journalism's dying. So she needs to take a job with her social media-star fiancé, Hudson. Oh, and that job that uber-private Jazmine decides to take is a reality series based on … their wedding. In fact, the week of her wedding will be filmed in social media infamy live.

This becomes a problem because Jazmine is not a big believer of social media and validating your life with likes.. And if that is not enough, throw in her childhood bestfriend/love of her life being the cameraman for her wedding.

Ah, Jazmine feels the same about the internet-fast snippets of video journalism as I do. It is not a good replica for WORDS. Printed words. Particularly printed words on a newspaper. Okay, we can't really have newspapers anymore, but printed words online must still be a thing, right? Wrong.

Poor Jaz has already been laid off twice from writing jobs. And she's looking at a third lay-off if she doesn't go along with this live internet wedding business.

So, we see her go through the motions. She gets physically ill often because of her decisions and boy, can I relate to that migraine scene. But, her body is telling her none of this, maybe not even Hudson, is for her.

The past can come whooshing in when we least expect it and Jaz must suddenly face past ghosts, including her love (and hatred) for Leo.

GOOD ON PAPER reads more as women's literature than romance, but I finished the book feeling good about this second-chance story.

The pacing was a bit slow in the beginning. I thought there should have been more conflict with her and Hudson (she needed to express her feelings better). I also didn't agree with one of the decisions she made in the end because it seemed ironic.

Thank you to NetGalley and Headline, Headline Eternal for an e-book copy of GOOD ON PAPER to review.

I rate GOOD ON PAPER by Valerie Tejeda four out of five stars.

Friends to lovers romance. Got my attention from the start and I couldn't put it down. This book gave me so many happy feelings and I can't wait to reread it.

I was so excited to have my wish granted to snag an ARC of this book! Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book was absolutely adorable! The first chapter really sucked me in immediately. The book is about Jazmine and her determination to keep her magazine journalist job. She will literally do anything to keep her job! Even filming her Cancun wedding to her fiancé for her magazine job. But of course things don't always go as planned! Her videographer is her former best friend and the guy who broke her heart aka Leo. Will Jaz follow her heart and do what makes her happy?

What I loved:
- Friends to lovers! Jazmine and Leo’s friendship to love relationship was fun to read. We go back to the past in the book to see how things unfold.
- This was full of cute fluff and I needed that!
- I smiled, I laughed, I squealed! This book had me cheesing and giggling multiple times.
- Quick read and great writing! I liked all the characters. Jazmine was very relatable!

Overall, this book was absolutely adorable and delightful! This was the perfect summer read that couldn't stop me from smiling. I recommend this book for any romance fan! I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future. 4 stars out of 5!
