I overall enjoyed the audio version of this book. I thought it was narrated well. The book is told from different characters voices which I thought worked well. I would say that I thought it felt it fit more in a chick lit genre rather than mystery which was what I was expecting but an entertaining read nonetheless.

A nice narration for this audiobook.
This is one of the stories with hints in the early pages which make you mistrust everyone and make you wait for something terrible to happen. What actually happens was not in any way what I was expecting.
I enjoyed this book. It reminded me of a TM Logan book in style. I will be on the lookout for more books by Lucy Clarke

Another brilliant suspenseful read from a great author and very well narrated. I love Lucy Clarke's writing and this did not disappoint.

Lexie is celebrating her forthcoming marriage with a hen weekend in a luxury Greek villa. I loved the well-drawn and diverse cast of characters; a mixture of old friends and new, all very different but all hiding secrets

A perfect holiday read, set in a beautiful location with a gripping and surprising plot .

I loved The Castaways by Lucy Clarke so was looking forward to this!
This took me a while to get into and to get a handle on the characters and the POVs. The two narrators do a good job, although the different POVs would have been more distinctive if each character had it's own narrator. I did find it rather confusing that only two narrators were used, but each chapter had a different POV!
That being said, the plot was fabulous, and the ending was superb. All the threads and characters connected wonderfully, and I do love a good denouement!
This only took me 4 days to listen to, so that shows how much I enjoyed it!
Another great novel by Clarke, I look forward to her next one!

What a fabulous read/listen. Really twisty and told from multiple points of view while the setting of an isolated luxury Greek villa was perfect. Lucy Clarke writes brilliant books and this is probably her best yet.
Highly recommend and thank you for letting me read this book.

starts off as a very predictable hen do, whilst staying in a luxury villa in the sun a bunch of girls do what they always do. Bitching, probing, drinking, gossiping and the truth is spoken, a few fall outs later and its getting worse by the minute, more revalations. Good holiday read but i felt a bit unbelievable. Thank you #NetGalley for the audiobook to review.

Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins and Lucy Clarke for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This is the book of dreams. Lies. Deceit. Secrets. Murder. The girls holiday from hell. What’s not to love?! This is completely gripping from the first chapter. The multiple story’s lines instantly grabs the readers attention and keeps it. It is a great psychological thriller that immediately draws you in. This will be the book of the summer.

Loved it!
Felt like I needed sun tan lotion to read it and I felt like I was there. Glad I wasn’t though.
Group holidays in my opinion are never a good idea but this one was deadly.

What a truly suspenseful thriller One of the Girls is. It is set on a beautiful Geek Island, the perfect spot for a Hen weekend for 6 six friends. Mind you at times they do not seem like friends at all. They bicker and push each other. They argue, they make up, they argue again. There is love, life stories shared and oh so many secrets.

I really liked the way each chapter was set as each different woman retelling their side of what is going on. It really lends itself to a unique style of plot that slowly slowly unravels to an unbelievably brilliant and shocking end. It picks up the pace towards the final chapters and lies are revealed that leave the women reeling. The characterisation is expertly done and each of the woman had their really great sides but then they all had some down right nasty sides to. I would love to see this book on the TV. It would make a brilliant Drama series.

The rounding off of the story is wonderful. We get to find out what happens to everyone after they return from their dramatic Hen weekend. Can their friendships be sustained? Will the lies and deceit ever be forgiven?

I would highly recommend this great read for anyone who loves a well told, strong story with fabulous characters and a few thrills and spills along the way.

As far as the narration goes, it was brilliantly done. I often find a narrator can make or break an audio book. Thankfully One of the Girls is narrated with a great sense of understanding. The story is told clearly and you really get a great sense of how each character really ticks. The perfect combination or a great writer and a great narrator. An audio book not to be missed.

I absolutely loved One of the Girls. I thought The Castaways was such a brilliant read so I was looking forward to what she came up with next.

The story of Lexi on her hen do with her best friends Robin and Bella, Bella's girlfriend Fenn, sister-in-law to be Eleanor and newish friend Anya. All of them having flown out to enjoy a weekend abroad to a Greek island, which at first it's all fun and games but relationships begin to unravel.

There's lots of secrets within the group, without giving too much away, that slowly get revealed as the story progressed.

I was glued to listening, the narration was spot on and the colour characters completely drew me in. Highly recommend and already looking forward to Lucy's next book.

Thanks very much for the advance copy, I'm sure this book will soar!

I loved ‘The Castaways’ by the same author so was keen to get into this one. However, it just wasn’t for me. I found all of the characters to be unlikeable. The way in which characters were linked was sometimes a bit unrealistic and the plot was quite slow and predictable. Also, way too many cicada references. I gave it two stars as the narrators were good and kept me listening to the end. I will write this off as a book that just wasn’t for me and look forward to the next one. As I said, Castaways was brilliant and I gave it 5 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC.

Thank you netGalley for this advanced copy. This was a good book!! I wasn't sure it would be as I feel like this topic of hen party or getaway weekends has been overdone lately. The suspense was great! All the character developments and secrets that came out during the book were shocking!! The ending was not what I expected but I'm glad to see a happy ending!!

It took a little while to get started, but was really worth persevering with. The way the stories were interlinked was clever and I liked how each chapter is from a different characters viewpoint. I felt like the characters could have been a bit more rounded out at the start, but overall a really good read and I was racing to find out what happened next in the last 1/3 of the book.,

Six friends go on a hen weekend to Greece. As the weekend progress we find out that they all have secrets that could test thier friendships and someone will end up dead.
There has been a lot of books recently with the same sort of synopsis but I feel this one holds up quite well. It's less of a mystery story and more character driven. Was pleasantly surprised with the ending as it wasn't who I was expecting to die. The only down point for me was a couple of the characters where a little annoying and not as engaging as some of the others. Thanks to #netgalley for this ARC.

This is feedback for the audiobook version of this book.

I really enjoyed listening to this book, the narrators do a great job and make for very pleasant listening.

The story starts off as a very civilised hen trip to Greece but slowly turns sour and all the hens secrets are revealed towards the end of the book in a series of explosive scenes.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for letting me review this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 ⭐️ thrilling page-turner!

I really enjoyed The Castaways and this was just as much fun to read with plot twists that I never guessed, which the storyline slowly but surely builds up to.

<b>SYNOPSIS</b>
<i>"It was supposed to be the perfect weekend away. Six very different women travel to a sun-soaked Greek island for a bachelorette trip, to celebrate Lexi’s upcoming wedding. From the glorious ocean views to the quaint tavernas and whitewashed streets, the vacation seems too good to be true. But dangerous undercurrents run beneath the sunset swims and midnight cocktails – because each of the women is hiding a secret. Someone is determined to make sure that Lexi’s marriage never happens – and that one of them doesn’t leave the island alive."</i>

<b>MY THOUGHTS</b>

✔️ The hen/bachelorette goes wrong trope - the reason I don't go to hen dos 😂 recipe for disaster!

✔️ Multi-character pov ALL with secrets to hide.

✔️ The summer holiday setting, perfect for a summer thriller read.

✔️ Slow-burning psychological drama-thriller that truly starts to unfold in the last 1/3 of the book.

✔️ Love the lies, lies and more lies as the web of deceit that cuts across all the characters and slowly starts to unravel.

✔️ I listened to this on audio, and with all the different POVs the narrator was excellent, great atmospheric read.

One of the Girls is a great, beachside summer thriller so if you are looking for a holiday thriller check this out.
