💬 "The act of giving someone even a small slice of beauty, and the thoughtfulness behind the gesture . . . that’s permanent." 💬

This was an arc from @netgalley and I was soo excited to try this one out! Thank you @headlinebooks for sending me this arc! 🥰

I did initially feel like the romance happened way too quickly but omg it made so much sense and I was squealing and grinning so much because of the feels. The build up of the relationship was amazing!! 🥺

All the main characters were loveable, except one who gave me major red flags 😬 I loved Brie so much and I felt like she was such a good friend! The interactions between her and Cass felt so wholesome 🥰

This was such an enjoyable read and despite the fast pace in the beginning, I felt like the rest of the book more than made up for it! Dream On is already out so if you're looking for a cute romance, check this out!

Cass Walker wakes up from a coma convinced she has a boyfriend called Devin Bloom - the only thing is Devin Bloom doesn't exist. But Cass remembers everything about him, and she can't bring herself to forget him. Chance brings her to a flower shop a year later where she gets the shock of her life - it's Devin! Even more shocking is Devin believes her story, and the two embark on a true romance, ignoring his younger brothers doubts.

With a new job at a prestigious law firm, and Devin by her side, Cass's life is looking like a dream. But every dream must come to an end...

Well this was a lovely contemporary romance! Although I'm not sure whether I'd actually classify it as women's fiction? The story itself is more focused on Cass's life, rather than just the romance, although that does take up a large part of the plot. I sometimes struggle with romance novels keeping my attention, but not here! The added mystery behind Cass's misplaced memories was so intriguing, it kept me hooked throughout because I had to find out why she remembered Devin when no one else did.

The actual answer itself I thought made sense and I really loved how everything wrapped up in the ended. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a romance with more of a focus on character development with an original plot as well.

Many thanks to Headine Eternal and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Angie Hockman brought a brand new twist to my one of my favourite tropes - memory loss stories! I
always find that this trope has the potential to bring about a lot of mystery and intrigue, and Dream On
had this in spades.

Of course, ultimately, Dream On is a romance book. However to me it felt more of a contemporary story
about a woman who was finding herself, with a sprinkling of love thrown in. Plus, it was all very
mysterious as I was trying to figure out how the heck Cass knew Devin when she had never met him
before. Why was she dreaming about him?! I had a lot of theories, and only one of them turned out to be
somewhat accurate.

I loved following Cass. She starts off a little broken, and is trying to fit back into her summer programme
with a top law firm. Her dream is to be a lawyer but it might be because she thinks that's what her mother
wants for her. Then she meets two florists, and it all spirals out of control from there. Seeing Cass go
through so much and a lot of character growth was excellent.

There is a little bit of a love triangle, although it's not all that intense. I didn't love either romance in this
book (I think Hockman wrote a much better ship in Shipped) but I didn't hate the romance either. It was
kind of just there, while the main story that I got invested in was Cass and whatever she was going to
decide to do.

I didn't love Dream On as much as I loved Shipped, but this was a good follow up book that kept me
engaged and helped me during my reading slump. Which I'm still in, by the way, but I'm working on it.

Cass wakes up from a coma with memories of Devin, who she thinks is her boyfriend, only problem is that it seems likes she has never met him. When she finds out he is actually a real person, will all her dreams come true?

I really enjoyed Shipped last summer, and the premise of this is so interesting that it was an auto request for me! Also, THAT COVER.

Unfortunately, I just didn't love this. I do want to acknowledge that my own niche issues did come into play here - I hate medical based invalidation and also romances that spend a lot of time focused on job stuff. But other than this, I found the characters kinda bland, and couldn't make myself care about them at all. Also, just really don't enjoy a love triangle (unless it is one half vampire one half werewolf/shapeshifter). Not a hit for me, but could be for you if you like the following tropes:

- love triangle
- is it fate?
- enjoy a romcom with a large amount of development outside the relationship (the heroine is a high powered lawyer type)
- good boy vs bad boy
- love at first sight (?)

Thanks to netgalley and Headline for the arc. Opinions clearly my own!

What happens when you find the man of your dreams, only to wake up and realise it wasn't real? That's exactly what happens to Cass Walker when she wakes from a six day coma and finds out that her perfect boyfriend is actually imaginary. Until one day a year on he appears, as if by magic, to whisk Cass off her feet. But is he really as perfect as she remembers?

This was incredibly cute and fluffy. The plot doesn't take itself to seriously, aloowibg the reader to get carried away in the slightly ridiculous plot. It's the perfect rom con really, with a predictable outcome and a certain level of comfort I want from a light romance novel. It's easy to read, fast paced and funny. It also helps that Cass is a really likeable character. Overworked and flustered, stuck in a job that's not exactly the dream. Her journey expanded beyond the romance plot, which I really appreciated.

However I do with there was more chemistry between our two main characters. At times it felt a bit all consuming and messy but without that obvious spark that makes them click. I didn't buy into their romance. I also hated the side plot with Sadie. It really didn't fit with the overall feel of the rest of the book, almost at times as those it was trying to take an incredibly difficult and heavy topic and shoehorning it into a fluffy romance. It made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Reasonably cute romance that doesn't exactly do anything new and exciting but sometimes you want a comforting predictable read. This is that romance.

When Cass has an accident she wakes up thinking she has a boyfriend, Devin. But it seems she just imagined him, or at least her brain did. So when she meets Devin in real life, you can imagine the shock.

I liked the story, thought it has a very nice premise. Although I do not like love triangles (hate them actually) I had a feeling how this one would end. Overall very nice read, enjoyable.

Dream On is my first from Angie Hockman however I knew Kirsty had read Shipped last year and enjoyed it.

We start with our main character waking up after an accident with strong memories of a boyfriend she doesn’t have. When she gets back on her feet and back to living her life, it turns out life is going to throw her straight in the way of this mystery man.

What follows is a story with our two main characters getting to know each other and certain recollections begin to make sense. All the way through though I just felt something was a little amiss and things weren’t going to be as they seemed!

This is the 2nd book I’ve read in the last few weeks where fate is a strong theme… is this the new trend?

I loved, loved, loved, this story! It really kept me guessing right up until the end with why she was dreaming of him. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but I will say the journey was compelling, and the ending was perfect. I couldn’t put it down. 10/10 I would highly recommend to anyone

Cass wakes up from a coma after a car accident, expecting to see her devoted boyfriend waiting by her bedside. But it turns out, nobody in her life has ever heard of this guy. And those memories she has of them falling in love? Not real. So why are they there?

Dream On is such a cute romance with characters I loved and an ending I adored. Sweet and a quick read, this is definitely a perfect beach book.

I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Headline Eternal for an advanced copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I had seen a lot of praise for Angie Hockman’s previous book ‘Shipped’ but hadn’t got around to reading it yet. I will definitely be prioritising it now!

This was a cute, heartwarming easy read. It had likeable characters and a unique plot. The story was somewhat predictable but I do not feel that that took away any of the enjoyment. It is a classic romcom that fans of this genre will enjoy. Perfect light summer read!

I wish I had known going in that this book has the love-triangle trope. I HATE this trope, and will never knowingly read a book with it.
That being said, I enjoyed the beginning of the book. The storyline is quite unique. However, as soon as I understood that it was going to be a love triangle, it went downhill for me.
I skimmed the rest of it, because I felt bad that due to personal preference, I was not being able to enjoy this well-written, thoroughly thought-out story.
If you like love-triangle amd amnesia tropes, you will enjoy this story!
Thank you to the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Devin Bloom isn't real. He's a coping mechanism Cass' brain created while she was in a coma for six days...right?

The premise of this story was just too enticing, so I jumped at a chance to read an ARC (Thanks, NetGalley!)

Things I liked:
<spoiler>•the support in Brie and Cass' friendship
•Brie and her mom's reactions to finding out Devin is real after a year of helping Cass remember he isn't
•Devin being sweet and well-meaning but still giving off douchey vibes and apologizing when called out on it
•Perry being really protective of Cass' trauma and how people react to it without her having to tell him
•The countless moments when Perry and Cass are having a moment and then something interrupts and you can hear his heartbreaking
•I NEED MARCUS AND BRIE'S STORY PLEASE GIVE ME A SHORT STORY OR SOMETHING
•Devin and Sadie too would be nice (ALSO YES COUPLES THERAPY)</spoiler>

All around a really sweet read giving fate the middle finger.

4 stars
TW; brain injury and recovery, brief mentioning of a miscarriage

Thank you to NetGalley and Headline for a copy of this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

This is a wholesome novel, and it was just what I needed after some heavy fantasy reads I've had lately. I loved how easy it was to fall into this world and was engaged in Cass' story very easily.

The uniqueness of Cass' experience after waking up from the coma and how well this played into the novel throughout was my favourite part of Dream On. I appreciated the pace of the revelations that came from dreaming of Devin during Cass' time unconscious and how they affected her opinions in reality. Cass as a character was interesting outside of her head injury, and I appreciated being able to witness her self-discovery as well as forging new pathways for herself a year after her accident.

The men in this book were both great, although I was a bit iffy about them being brothers when I realised it was a love triangle. I adored how different they were from the other and how that worked (or didn't) with Cass. I also appreciated the side characters a great deal, and what they offered to the storyline, especially in the case of Cass' coworker.

Because I'm not huge on love triangles, there were some times when I got concerned about the progression of Cass' feelings for Devin and Perry. Although I guessed early on who she would end up with, I didn't enjoy all of the close calls. I did, however, appreciate that Cass didn't lead anyone on at any given point. The confessions at the end were very sweet, and I felt rewarded by the choices made. This diminished a lot of my hesitation over the trope being used in Dream On.

The romance is endearing, though there was a moment in the epilogue that felt hasty and unnecessary, given there hadn't been any of that type of intimacy in the rest of the book. Otherwise, I was convinced by the genuine feelings Cass held throughout this adorable story.

This is a really fun read and is easy to pick up and devour. I look forward to reading more by this author in the future.

After an accident that left her in a coma for several days, Cass wakes up and with the memories of her boyfriend Devin, but nobody seems to know him, not her family nor her friends. Besides of her memories of their time together there is nothing to indicate that they were a couple.

Several months after her recovery and while she is starting a new job she sees the man of her dreams in front of her in his brother flower shop. No, really she dreamed of him and now here he is.

Cass knows that what she went through isn't common so she owns it to herself to get to the bottom of it. After some convincing Devin agrees to hear her out and try to find an answer to why she knows him.

I really enjoyed the premise of the book, a man she doesn't know but remembers several things about shows up after she has given up.

I liked Devin in the beginning more than when the story continued, some of his actions bothered me.

The romance was sweet and I could see early on how it would go but I still enjoyed the ride.

* I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

3.5/5

Dream On was a really fun romcom! I thought the premise was refreshing and I enjoyed the play on Devin being the 'man of her dreams'. Perry really stole the show for me though, and I loved all his interactions with Cass and all the little things he did to show he cared (the flowers, the easel and paint set? 🥺) The side-characters were fully fleshed out as well, especially Cass' best friend Brie, who is the friend every girl needs! I thought this was a great summer read and I'd recommend it if you're looking for a fun, fresh romcom :)

(-1.5* because I thought the whole plot between Sadie and Devin was completely unnecessary and ended up painting Devin in a reallllly bad light. This might be partly because of recent events though.)

Thank you to the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
