Dream On by Angie Hockman was a brilliant romance, written with depth and heart. I was invested in Cass’ story throughout and enjoyed the unique plot.

Dream On begins with Cass waking up from a coma following a near fatal car accident. Upon waking she is flooded with memories of a man named Devin, who Cass believes to be her boyfriend. She remembers so much about him, from how they met, to how he broke his little finger as a kid. The only issue, however, is that none of her friends or family recognise Devin, nor is their any record of him interacting with Cass. So when she happens upon the real
Devin a year later things get very interesting. Has fate found Cass her perfect man or is there more to this story?

The premise of Dream On is certainly unique. It would seem that the idea of fate is a hot topic in recent romance novels and I’m here for it. I love the way questions relating to fate and choice are dealt with by Hockman both with respects to Cass’ love life but also her career. Cass’ has been through a traumatic accident and gruelling rehabilitation, whilst she still suffers with memory issues she appears to be getting her life back on track. And yet whilst everything appears to be going to plan, with her career and her fated relationship with Devin, she is brave enough to question if this is the life and love she truly wants.

I really liked Cass as a main character. She’s certainly brave, determined, funny and a really great friend. I also very much liked her friend Brie who was a great character in her own right and very supportive of Cass. Both Perry and Devin were solid leading men and different enough from one another to stand out in their own way. It’s worth pointing out though, that Dream On does veer into love triangle territory and with brothers to boot. Whilst this trope won’t be for everyone I do think it was done well in Dream On.

Overall a really enjoyable read, with a very strong female lead and a compelling story of recovery, fate and building the life we really want for ourselves.

Thank you to Netgalley for the arc.

My main problem with the story was the love triangle trope. I’m not really a fan of that, but I’ll read it if it’s written well. But I can’t bring myself to the bliss when the two love interest are brothers. It’s just so awkward to read about this for me. I think there is a rule even between brothers that never with the same woman.

I do liked the idea of the book in the beginning with the coma and memory problems. But between Cass and Devin everything happened so fast. And after with Perry was a quick made up when Cass realised they he’s the one and there was a happily ever after.

I didn’t connect with the characters. I’m not even sure how I feel about Cass. Ok, don’t really liked her because she was into both brothers. But I do had my LOL moments with some scene.

Overall if you like ‘Shipped’ from the author you easily can find the joy in this one.

This is a new author for me and the front cover and description intrigued me.

Cass has an accident and when she wakes up from her coma she sees a man she has never met before. She has few memories of him and finds out he actually exists.

I loved this book. I love how it all wraps together at the end and how cass through Perry finds out what she really wants to do and courageously leaves her intern. I really love both Perry, Devin and Brie as well. The story flowed amazingly and I really want to visit Perry's amazing flower shop.

Thank you to headline eternal for the e-ARC. Wow I don’t even know where to begin I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters!  This was my first Angie Hockman novel and I will defintely be picking up Shipped soon along with any future titles. I really don’t want to give too much away, just go into this blind!

Imagine waking up from a coma one day to find out the man of your dreams is just that, he doesn’t exist until several months later you come face to face with him and begin your IRL whirlwind romance…however the man of your dreams may not always be your soulmate

I’ve done a really bad job of summarising this and probably made it seem more ominous than it sounds, I can assure you this is a cute rom-com with a HEA! In summary I'd say this book is about following your heart rather than your dreams...

A unique premise for a sweet romance and self-discovery novel.
Dream On follows Cass, who upon waking up from a coma has memories of a wonderful boyfriend, Devin, with whom she believes she has had a relationship over the last 3 months. But when her friends and family explain that it can’t be possible because there is no evidence of Devin existing, Cass accepts that she has to move on from ruminating about her dream man. That is until she sees him in Blooms & Baubles, a florists run by Davin’s brother Perry.
At first, the brothers are resistant to accept Cass’ story, but Davin eventually agrees to meet over dinner for a chat to try to figure out how they could possibly know each other. Over the evening they begin to realise there is attar tin between them and the two begin dating. In the meantime, Cass is working her butt off as a summer associate at a big law firm, trying to get a full-time position. She struggles to balance time with Devin, her family and friends and her true passion for art so when Perry gifts her a painting set and easel, she finds it hard to resist picking up a brush and finds herself developing feelings for the man who gifted her the canvas.
I enjoyed Shipped but I think that this is a stronger novel. I enjoyed reading about Cass as she rediscovers her passions after the accident which leaves her in a coma and the gruelling years of Law School. Her friendship with Brie was heart-warming and I liked the blossoming relationship between her and Marcus. Some of the other side characters are glossed over a little, but I didn’t feel that this detracted from the story as a whole.
I would say that her feelings for Perry did seem a little random at first, but after a while I was convinced, they were made for each other, and I felt the chemistry. The ending tied things up VERY easily and I do think the conflict would have benefited from being slightly more complex. Devin was especially forgiving I thought!
A good summer read, and I would defiantly read more by Angie Hockman.

After reading the synopsis, I was intrigued and needed to read it instantly.
I loved it! Such a crazy whirlwind of an adventure.
Imagine waking from a coma with all these memories of a person you've never met, and then one day, you do.
The way she dealt with the trauma and real life issues reminded me a lot of myself.
I can't wait to read more from Angie Hockman!
Also the cover is just beautiful, really helps draw you in

The story
Cass has just written the bar exam when a terrible car accident results in a days long coma. When she wakes up, she is certain she has a boyfriend called Devin who she’s been seeing for a few months. But her family and best friend know nothing about it. One day, she meets the real Devin. Maybe the dream is coming true?

My thoughts
This is a sweet story, that tackles Cass’s struggles after the car accident and gradual reintroduction to her life. Moving in with her best friend, getting a summer job, dating again and trying to piece together the parts of her “before” life. There is a definite twist on the love story part, which isn’t the biggest surprise but I was wondering throughout how it would be handled. The concept of facing death and making major changes to what you want out of life is strong in this story.

I think this is going to be a fairly short review because I don’t want to accidentally spoil anything but this book was such a pleasant surprise!

When I read the description I was very intrigued. After being in a coma for 6 days, Cass wakes up with lots of memories of her relationship with Devin. The only problem is he doesn’t exist. Or does he..? When she bumps into him a few months later at a flower shop, she is shocked, and to her surprise, Devin believes her story. Not only that, they quickly find themselves embarking in a real-life romance, thinking that fate brought them together for a reason. But we all know the universe likes to play jokes on us so what if fate has other plans?

From the moment I read the description, I knew this was going to be a great story. Mix in some amazing characters I quickly fell in love with and I couldn’t put this book down. This book was not at all what I expected it to be when I read the description but I honestly think that’s why I loved it so much. The little twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and I really enjoyed the way the author dealt with some tropes I know a lot of us don’t really like.

I loved getting to know these characters and follow them on this journey. I will say though, that towards the end, things felt a little bit rushed and I wish we’d had a bit more time to see things unfold but it still wrapped up nicely and I really enjoyed the last few chapters.

I’d never read any of Angie Hockman’s books but I’ll definitely check them out now. If you’re looking for a great read for the summer, definitely check this one out!

Dream On by Angie Hockman is a contemporary romance that is told in first person from Cass Walker’s POV. It follows Cass as she wakes up from a six day coma in which she imagined a boyfriend called Devin. Devin was just a figment of her imagination but it turns out there is a real Devin who Cass meets in a flower shop. Cass and Devin embark on a relationship but there is someone else wanting Cass. This was a perfectly serviceable romance but I didn’t feel anything. Just like Shipped the story felt empty to me and the whole time I was reading it I was bored and just knew I was reading a book. I loved the cover and that’s mainly what made me read it. Angie Hockman is just not the author for me as I cannot connect with her writing. Overall, I have to give this three stars and thanks for the advance reader copy.

Honestly, don't pick this book if you don't have a few hours to read it as you won't want to put it down.
This book is so different to what I expected but yet so much better.
It follows the story of Cass's recovery from a car accident detailing her dream man only to find out he exists but does her heart want her dream man?
