This was a wonderfully illustrated addition to the Doctor Who canon. This introduced me to the eighth doctor and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so nice to see some familiar faces and some new ones too. I will check out more of these graphic novels in the future.

I recieved this eARC a while ago and wasn't able to review it due to the comic being too blurry to read but I managed to read this after it was published.

This was one boring read. The art isn't bad but not really my style, there were some facial panels that were used several times in a short amount of time, the characters felt one note and it was hard to read the dialogue as the characters would say in their respective media. The story was very basic and bland too.

Thank you to @Netgalley for approving this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

When I saw this one on Netgalley, I got really excited. However, after I received an ARC of this one, I kinda forgot all about it and the ARC timed out. Which meant I lost my copy of this graphic novel, and had to buy a copy of it just to review.

This one is set after the Angels of Manhattan episode. It features 2 Rose Tyler's, and 2 Doctor's (both the eleventh and the eighth), that get caught in a paradox.

I found it to be a very interesting story, with beautiful artwork and a fun adventure. However, I felt like the overall story was far too rushed and was finished far too quickly.

With that being said, I wouldn't mind trying more of these graphic novels in the future.

Thank you Titan Books and Netgalley for letting me read and review this book. This graphic novel has the eighth and eleventh doctor in here, and has two Rose Tylers. That is all I needed to read to know I wanted to read this graphic novel. I love the Doctor Who series. If you are a fan of this series you should also give this graphic novel a read. The story is intriguing and I love the art style.

This is a delightful doctor who flashback! As a lover of the tenth doctor and Rose, I was so hyped to see this comic book and get the chance to read it! I looked the art style and thought the plot of the comic book was really engaging! One of the better tie in comic books I've read :)

Thanks to NetGalley for an e-ARC. Doctor Who: Empire of the Wolf is a good graphic novel. I loved how they brought back Rose for this. The story was fast paced and well written. I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 stars. I am leaving this review voluntarily .

I was looking forward to reading Doctor Who: Empire of the Wolf and found that while it had some flaws, it was overall a good read.

One of the aspects that I appreciated about Doctor Who: Empire of the Wolf was the use of the seriously underutilized Eight Doctor, who might have had a very short reign on television, but appears in a large selection of audio plays. Add in the Eleventh Doctor, and you have the bookends to the story and character of Rose. This is the Rose who suddenly finds herself in the Tardis with the Eighth Doctor, who has no idea who this is, while Rose has to keep from slipping up and delivering "spoilers" to The Doctor.

Meanwhile, there is a second Rose, a warrior who took part in the Time Wars and who reigns as The Empress on an otherwise quiet planet the Eleventh Doctor has kicked for a bit of a vacation.

Two Doctors, Two Roses, and it all needs to be sorted out!

The narrative moves along at a good pace, and the artwork, while more impressionistic than realistic, works with the story.

Recommended: three and one-half stars

I love Doctor Who so being able to read more stories from the world we all know and love is so cool. I especially love the DW comics, I've read most if not all of them and I thoroughly enjoy them, as I did with this volume.

I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

I'm a big Doctor Who fan (have mostly watched the modern seasons aka doctors 9 -->) and this was pretty fun! I've also always been a BIG Rose Tyler fan, so having a story that focused on her and interacting with one doctor who hasn't met her yet and one that remembers her was fun! She's always involved in a paradox somehow, and it is such a mood.
My only complaint for this is that I felt like it spends so much time in dialogue with the doctors, and so little actually doing anything, so it becomes a bit slow. Still pretty fun tho!

This was a fun read, and I had no idea there was a TV show based on this story, which I'll be watching later.

Anyway, the storytelling was fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are also interesting, and in some ways, I find them hilarious.

I can't wait for the next installmentย if there is one.

Despite shooting itself in the foot with two of the least likeable Doctors (McGann and Smith), this isn't too bad a whimsy. I mean it features a kind of "It's a Wonderful Life" kind of 'come see what mess you've left behind' redemptive episode, featuring global catastrophes and war, but generally it is a whimsy, demanding not one but two Doctors (well, three really, but in a way not really), not one but two Roses, and not one but two TARDISes. The good thing is, even if you didn't know that Rose had split into being a housewife here, and a God Emperor there (yes, I hold my hand up), it is still pretty much perfectly followable. Some beats are awkward โ€“ someone goes into a TARDIS and the only way we know is that they vanished from frame, and some other things seem to have happened while the camera was pointing the other way, but this generally is a very serviceable story.

Two versions of Rose, two Doctors and two Tardises, double the fun! I enjoyed getting back to the world of Doctor Who and really liked the adventure they went on this time.

What a pleasure to read a new adventure of the Doctor ! And it is not one, but two space travelers who team up in this mission ! As Eleven is in the Tardis, wishing for peaceful holidays, he arrives on a lonely planet, governed by a blonde woman, nicknamed the Empress. He is soon joined by Eight, who just met a certain Rose Tyler. The rest is a Wibbly, Wobbly, Timey, Wimey story.

I donโ€™t often read Doctor Who graphic novels, but it was certainly very fun. We discover a very depressed Eleven, as he just lost the Ponds, an innocent Eight that didnโ€™t face the Time Wars yet and an older Rose, married to Tenโ€™s clone and mother of a teenager. It was certainly really interesting to revisit these characters, not seen for years, if not almost a decade.

Letโ€™s be honest. This graphic novel will only be enjoyed by Doctor Who fans. But it was surely very entertaining and I was really happy to read it, having a big smile as the characters were meeting.

Let's say I forgot the canonical stories and enjoyed this new take on Rose and 8th and 11th. It was a bit weird as they never met before but it was entertaining.
It's a tight and fast paced story, I had some doubt about the Bad Wolf part but I liked it.
I think it requires to take it as it comes and enjoy it.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I came to this as a Doctor Who fan, but not one who has really dipped into the comics. I was disappointed by its lack of originality and its unconvincing imitation of the central characters. I suppose when you wade into a world as rich as the Doctor Who canon, it's a massive challenge to find a story which presents anything new, but Empire of the Wolf doesn't really seem to be trying. I was uninterested as it went along and the climax, involving a significant character change, was very predictable and weak.

Thank you to Titan Books and Netgalley for this eARC!!

2/5 stars

The story line was pretty simple and easy to follow, however, personally I just didn't vibe with it that much. I expected it to be a bit more fleshed out and it felt a bit rushed in places.

The art style was the major factor in my lower rating. In some places the artist really captured the characters' likeness, but in most of the comic issue their faces just seemed a bit...off.

All in all, it was a decent comic and a fast and nostalgic read for me.

Sadly boring for the subject matter. It's always fun to see the gang back together, but this felt less like reading an episode and more like reading a bad fanfic. I've read a lot of really good Doctor Who official stories, but this wasn't one of them

This graphic novel fell short for me in story but the art was great and easy to follow along. The store itself just seemed to be repeating itself on certain plot points and also seemed to be missing the โ€œbanterโ€ that I think of when I think of Doctor Who. But like any classic who they saved the day in the end so that is always a nice way to end things.

This was a wonderful little adventure that brought back Rose Tyler and gave us an update on her life with John Smith (David Tennant in the alternate reality they live in together). While I was excited to see how those two were doing, the adventure within the pages kept me interested. A fun classic Doctor Who adventure that was funny and thrilling.
The explanation for why there were two Roses was a little weak and could have been made clearer. Though seeing the different iterations of the character was very entertaining and enjoyable. Rose is such a fan favorite that it was really nice to see her doing well as a (SPOILERS) mother and also being badass on an intergalactic mission.
The choice to have the doctor just before Rose and the doctor just after Rose was very well done, especially with how they interacted. Eleven still holds resentment for Eight which is apparent throughout their interactions. The callbacks to earlier episodes (when Rose meets her Dad with Nine and the Amy episodes with Eleven) were especially nice for fans who have missed and still love those dynamics.
Overall, a very entertaining story that I recommend to any Whovian/ Rose Tyler stan!

I am a fan of doctor who, and when I saw this ARC I jumped at the opportunity, it was a nice story, very close to the series I must say, and with two of the fan favourites, rose and the eleventh doctor, what I didnโ€™t care much for, was the drawings, yes I would know who the character was, not because it was look alike, but because they had something that belonged to the character, like eleventh would use his fez, rose had her big lips, etc,

But I really recommend this book for fans of the show, you wont be disappointed ;)

Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC and this is my honest opinion.
