This book is adorable, and my daughter and I loved it. The story is about a little girl whose cat runs away after being told off for eating some toast, and the little girl is frantic until the cat comes back home. The book has lovely illustrations and easy to read text, which all children will enjoy. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

A cute and wholesome story! Great for kids and cat lovers! I particularly liked the detail of the cat having different names for how it is behaving!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange of my honest opinion.

For all cat owners out there, I think this book is quite relatable!

Our pets can be annoying at times but we love them no matter what and we would be lost without them!

I really enjoyed this picture book! It is a great story, with amazing illustrations and a cute message!

This is a sweet and heartwarming story about a little girl who absolutely adores her cat. As a fellow cat lover myself, the book resonated with me instantly and by page 2 we are introduced to the playful pet nickname for Aditi, ‘Addie Baddie Boo Boos!’. Now if you are a true cat lover you know that you must always have a twist on their real name - mine was ‘Milly’ who often went by the name ‘Minky or Milly Din Dins’.

Throughout the book we experience the little girls love for Aditi as the cat freely explores the house but one day there’s a disagreement over a snack and Aditi the cat is told to get out. The little girl is heartbroken when her precocious cat doesn’t return, I really felt her sadness. Thankfully we see them lovingly reunited a week later and this time sharing a snack on the sofa.

It’s a story full of emotions and explores the magical relationships between humans and cats. The words on each page are brought to life through the wonderful illustrations that are created by Sam Usher.

I Love My Cat is a sweet story about a little girl and her cat. The family have different names for the cat depending upon how the cat is acting on a day. This is something that very much made us smile and resonated with us as a family as we often have slightly different names for each other depending upon what sort of mood we're in.

It's a charming representation of the dynamics between human and feline and the symbiotic relationship they have. When Aditi the cat goes missing the little girl makes posters and is comforted by her Dad. Dad explains that cats do as they wish and come and go as they please. We learn that the name Aditi means freedom. I did have to find out a little more and discovered the name is of Sanskrit origin and that the Hindu Goddess of fertility is named Aditi.

The text is written by poet Simon Mole and the lyrical style bounces you gently through the book at a lovely pace. Sam Usher's illustrations bring the text beautifully to life with his playful, yet emotion filled imagery. I find Sam's work reminds me a little of Peter Carnavas and Quentin Blake.

Thank you #NetGalley and #QuartoKids for the eARC.

A tender tale of the bond between a girl and her cat, and her pure adoration for everything that makes kitty, her kitty. The anxiety of a missing pet reflects the stages of grief; and the girl’s parents try to guide her through it without losing hope. As I am currently waiting for one of my cats to return from her accidental wanderings, I can vouch for the relatability of this story. And the end - well, the end is lovely.

This book is cute, full of beautiful drawings, loved the cat sketches. It has a fairly good story and reads well. Little cat people will enjoy it. It would be a good to get a child before getting a cat so they can see what cat owner life is like.

I liked how the author captures cat life parts were funny and so true I could see my own little grey cat doing the very same thing, getting up to all sorts and loving the naps
.The story itself was good, though I wasn’t keen on the section with the wee girl shouting at the cat, not sure that sends a great message to wee ones about pet care, however I did like the story of the day to day life with a cat and the ending was lovely the little girl truly does love her cat, even when she sometimes doesn’t have the patience to deal with the cheeky side of her feline pal.

The language, tone and rhyme was good, it was well written for language development and also to encourage joint and independent reading depending on the child’s age.

I liked this book but didn’t love it, I have given it four stars with at least one of them for the drawings, I love my cat and liked this cat book.

Review to come to blog/Goodreads on 21st June.

I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

I am still very allergic to cats, so when I can get to read books like this about cats and people loving them? I am in! This book sounded adorable and I just had to have it. I want to know if they find the little cat again~

In this book we meet a girl who absolutely LOVES her cat and tells us the many ways her cat is amazing. All the cute nicknames she has for her (Addie-Addie-Adster, Ada-saurus Rex to name a few). How the cat loves to sleep, curled up in a basket of laundry. But how she is also super active and likes "helping out" and giving "presents". It was really sweet and I love how the whole family loved the cat (though sometimes got a tad frustrated with her when she was doing some very cat-like things XD. The first part of the book is all about how the cat is with the family. How they love her. But then in the second part of the book something happens and Aditi disappears! Boom! One moment the cat is always there, stealing your sandwich and whatnot, and the next she has disappeared. And I was superworried, and with each page being filled with worry and wondering what was going on. Making posters. Searching for her left and right. I was so worried they wouldn't find her. Yes, it is a children's book, so I knew there probably would be a good ending.. but still, worried!

I loved that the dad tried to console his daughter and that she let her imagination roam for a bit. I loved seeing that Egypt scene. Haha, I am sure cats would love being in Egypt, or well, at least the olden Egypt.

The ending was wonderful and I was so relieved and happy. For this time I don't mind it that children's book often end on a good note.

The art was really pretty, I love the style. Then again, it is Sam Usher and I just LOVE LOVE his art. Got several of his book at home and still looking to add more to my collection.

All in all, this was an adorable and sweet book that had me worried for a bit and going aww for the other. I would recommend it to all.
