Millie and Eve are twins. Millie had just been released from a long stint in prison after a miracle appeal by a team of lawyers found her not guilty. Now, she wants revenge against her sister who put her there--framing her for her husband's murder.

Despite a good premise and set up, this wasn't very gripping. It was slow and then morphed into unbelievable. The characters were all the kind of dastardly folks you love to hate. Was a bit disappointed with this in the end

Reading during the summer is something that I love to do especially if we're on vacation. This book "Her Perfect Life" was one that I couldn't put down. I kept wanting to read more and more of it as it kept me on my toes. Wanting to know what was going to happen next and what to expect later in the book. The suspense was perfect in this book and I have to say that I will be reading it later on this year again. If you like suspense books then this is the one for you!

Millie Overstreet has spent the last ten years in prison paying for a crime she didn't commit. She's spent years trying to prove her innocence, and with the help of a review board, her conviction is overturned. She heads straight to her identical twin sister's house. Millie wants Eve to know she forgives her for framing her for her brother-in-law's murder. When Eve opens the door and sees her twin standing there, she clearly blames her for her husband's death even though she's the one who paid someone to murder him. Eve also makes it crystal clear she wants nothing to do with Millie. Once Millie is checked into a hotel, she starts planning how exactly Eve will pay for robbing her of ten years of her life.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Eve told Millie she doesn't have the perfect life her twin seems to think she does, but Millie isn't convinced. Eve has a beautiful home, a nice car, weekly nail appointments and pilates classes. A life Millie could get used to, and she's determined to have it. Millie soon realizes by getting revenge on Eve, she's traded one prison for a differnt kind, and this time she might lose her freedom for good.

I'm late posting this review, but I want to thank Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me early access to this book.

If you are looking for a quick, fast-paced read, Her Perfect Life is the book for you! I love Emily Shiner’s writing style and how the book is told from different perspectives. This story consists of characters you love to hate and an ending that is so shocking I couldn’t believe it!! I will be telling everyone about Her Perfect Life.

Millie served a 10-year sentence in prison for killing her twin sister's, Eve, husband, and her conviction just got overturned because she didn't do it - she was framed. When she gets out, she is determined to get her Eve's perfect life... but is it?
This psychological thriller was told in multiple POVs, but it was easy to follow. The characters are unreliable and the fact that they talk to themselves all the time was a bitt annoying to me. I also thought that Millie was pretty naive to think she could just step into her sister's life and take her place without anyone noticing, but when it works (at least for some)... I didn't buy it. It was a little over the top, but overall, it was a great read with a baffling ending I simply did not see coming.
I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley and Inkubator Books, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Millie is released from prison after being wrongly convicted of killing her sisters husband. All Millie wants is to have a good life. Her sister, Eve, seems to have done well while Millie was in prison but under the surface things are not as they seem.

The action never ends with this book! Secrets are uncovered and then more secrets. I was easily able to get lost in this book. Excellent read!

Definitely a page turner, but the more I got into it , the more unbelievable it was. A twin (Millie) gets out of prison. She was framed for killing her sister's (Eve) husband. She believes Eve has a perfect life, but comes to find out its not so perfect. The ending has an unbelievable twist that I didn't see coming.

Her Perfect Life
By Emily Shiner (via #netgalley)

This one definitely wasn't for me. There was plenty of suspense and certainly had plot twists, but I hated every single character. With passion. While I like a vivid story that evokes a lot of emotion, I struggled with such an unrealistic plot. The ending left me a bit sour also. The writing itself wasn't terrible - I did enjoy the author's writing style...the story itself, not so much.

Millie was just released from prison for a murder that she didn't commit. Her twin sister Eve framed her for murdering Eve's husband. Now that Millie's out, she's hoping to reconcile with her sister, but when she drops by Eve's house, Eve slams the door in her face. Eve has the life that Millie wants - a big house, money, and a seemingly perfect life, so Millie decides to kill Eve and take over Eve's life. But she quickly realizes that Eve's life was certainly no where near as perfect as she thought...

Millie is finally out of prison and will do anything to not go back. She decides she wants her twin sisters perfect life. But is Eves life that perfect?
Definitely a book of be careful what you wish for. A pretty decent thriller read, there were a few spots that made me think, this is a little over the top, but all in all a good read.
The ending was a What in the World moment!!
Many thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read and review this.

Thanks to netgalley and Inkubator for the arc ebook.
The premise sounded promising, but overall it fell rather flat. It felt a little rushed, none of the characters were fleshed out enough so just came across as totally unlikeable. It's a quick read if that's what you're after, but not particularly thrilling.

I did enjoy Her Perfect Life although I didn’t find it as gripping as I expected. It did entertain me and there was a nice twist at the end but overall I would rate this book as 3 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Inkubator Books and the author for the chance to review.

I have mixed feelings about this book. It was very fast paced and a quick, easy read. I did enjoy reading it as an escape from reading other books with heavier topics. As psychological thrillers go, I wouldn’t say this is the best one I’ve ever read. I found it to be very superficial. There was a lot of different plot lines that could have came together very nicely but the author never explained nor made connections. I felt like I was only given very basic information and never got the “deep dive” into how the characters ended up in the position they were in now. The entire plot wasn’t very realistic. However, if you’re willing to suspend your belief for the sake of a short, quick read, it’s still very enjoyable.

If you like reading books without giving much thought to plot holes or missing details, this would be a great book to pick up. If you’re a more experienced psychological thriller reader, pass on this one.

When Millie Grant is released from prison after being convicted of a crime she didn't commit, the first place she goes is to her twin sister Eve's house.

Eve has a life that from the outside seems perfect, she is beautiful, wealthy, has an impeccable house, goes to Pilates classes, eats in expensive restaurants and spends lot of money in shopping.

Their lives couldn’t be more different, yet they’re intrinsically tied together, because Millie believes that Eve is living the life she deserves.

After all, it was Eve who sent her to jail for murdering her husband and framing Millie.

Millie is determined to take over Eve's perfect life no matter what, so much so that she doesn't realize that appearances often deceive us.

What did I like about Her perfect life?

Intriguing and strong female characters as fuck.
Eve, Millie and Mya are strong, determined and feisty women. Sure, Eve's motivations are as dark as her actions, but even when caught in a web of sin and mystery she gives it her all and doesn't become a victim.

Not to mention Millie, who managed to forgive her sister in prison for what she did to her, although when she got out she completely changed her approach. But throughout the story she remained determined to achieve her goal.

And Mya, well, I'll let you find out who she is.

Excellent narrative, descriptions and actions' pace.
I won't get tired of saying it: give me more stories written in the present tense.

It gives a perfect mood to the story, it allows the reader to get completely involved in the actions, we feel like we’re living them at the same time as the characters.

Descriptions are fair and very rich, transporting us to all the setting.

And the pace of the actions keeps you either stuck to your Kindle or turning the pages on your paperback almost at the speed of light.

Mysteries, guilty people truly guilty, and innocent people also guilty.
I won't delve too deeply into this point because it speaks for itself. But the ending? It blew my mind, although I got some hypotheses right, I didn't see the ending coming.

My rating for Her perfect life is 5 stars because it is imperfectly awesome.

I’ll follow Emily Shiner as closely as Millie followed Eve.

A fascinating premise with complexly written loathsome characters! A very entertaining read, even if on occasion it lacks credulity. Enough twists to keep you guessing. Very enjoyable read

I thought this book was dull and at times bordering on the ridiculous. Dull characters with no depth. Not entirely sure why Eve would even get mixed up with them. The twist at the end doesn't save it. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy

I didn’t want to put this book down! I really enjoyed it! It kept me intrigued from beginning to end!
And the ending wow, that was a shocker! Love reading books by this author!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

I enjoyed this! I thought the premise was original and I didn’t fully expect the story to take the path it did. There could have been a few more twists and turns but I did enjoy it. The ending was a good one - although I would have preferred it to have been wrapped up a bit more neatly. It’s a solid 3 stars - enjoyable and an easy read but not a gripping page turner either.
