Haley is still grieving the loss of her wife Gail she bought the Timber Falls Bar and Grill because her and wife fell in love with the small village. Haley is shock when a murder happened in their small village considering their town is mainly a tourist spot. Carter is FBI agent who is adrift when she assigned to go investigate the murder there she instantly bonds with Mike the sheriff of the town they both team up to solve the murders and realize that it might be connected to others murders. Carter and Haley grow closer it’s the first time that Haley feels she can let go of Gail and starts to live again instead of just surviving. I enjoy this read we learn why the murders happen who did it I like that the author name dropped Agent Cameron and Andrea it’ll would’ve been nice to see them interact with Carter I hope we get another story with Cameron Andrea along with CJ Paige and Tori Samantha and Casey and Leslie I enjoy their characters and reread their stories.

Gerri Hill always writes a solid mystery/romance novel and this one definitely hooked me - I read it in a day. I've enjoyed previous novels with repeat characters, and I would enjoy reading more about Haley and Carter, and Mike. Looking forward to a possible sequel.

I like Gerri Hill’s detective romances. Although I did nor find it quite as gripping as some of her others like this. (e.g. Tori/Sam, CJ/Paige). But I would read a sequel to this.
