Another cracker from talented Ruth Jones. This multi generational story spans over 70 years with four women at its centre, Gramma Grace approaching 90,, her daughter Alys 71, her granddaughter Erin 51 and great granddaughter Becca 16. This story give you a warm cwtch - and if you don’t know this welsh word, you will understand by the end of the book. All the characters are well defined and totally believable. What more do you want - a great five star read.

Love Untold tells the stories of four generations of women, mothers and daughters set in South Wales. Grace is approaching ninety and a surprise party is planned for her, organised by her granddaughter, Elin, yet all Grace requires is the rift in her family to be healed. A delightful tale of wisdom, I was enraptured from the first chapters. The characterisation was exquisite and the ending took me by surprise. Heartbreaking yet uplifting.

My Thoughts :
I not read a book by Ruth before but always heard such amazing things about them , so I thought I would give this ago I'm so glad I did , and oh my days its like a big warm hug and this day in age we need that right now . we follow few different amazing characters , we have Grace who about to have a big birthday , Elin her granddaughter , Beca her great-granddaughter and Alys her daughter , I love them all for very many different reasons ,I enjoyed seeing the change in the generations and how love and friendship can really build a great foundation , plenty of girl power in this story ,but Ruth also gives you that raw day to day life for women and how crazy and hard it can be .

I thought Ruth writing is totally fantastic so much power behind it yet at the same time very tender .

I have a lot of family from wales I know they would very much enjoy this story .

I also loved that she used the welsh language I feel I got a lot to learn and would love to learn .

what I took away from this story is that sometimes as humans we are no means perfect you cant change everything but you can change what happens in the future and how we can mend and learn to grow and love again .

I rate this book 4.5 heart-warming stars

I love Ruth Jones and this didn't disappoint. A lovely feel good story, about the relationships between mothers and daughters and all the things that should be said and aren't. Told in the present, with occasional flashes back to the past, to help you understand what needed to be said. A total joy to read. Loved it.

Love Untold is one of those rare books that you don’t want to end, I was so immersed in the story and just love the characters so perfect and so different but all so interesting. From Grace and her granddaughter Elin and Alys Graces estranged daughter to Beca , Elin’s daughter these women all need their family and their love but have to overcome a lot of obstacles to find their way back home. Ruth Jones is a very skilled writer weaving these stories together

This is the first book I’ve read by Jones and I was really looking forward to it. Took me far longer to read then needed (my bad) but I really enjoyed it. 4 generations of strong women, untold secrets and hopping about between the years. I think I’d have liked Grace as my great grandma. I found myself willing Alys to come good. Ending felt abit sudden but it didn’t detract from the book

In summary Ruth Jones has another hit on her hands and I look forward to reading more from her.

This was a slow book but, interesting and I stuck with it. I found the characters were good but a little unbelievable at times. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Really hard to put this book down. The raw emotion was fantastic. Ruth really is a world class author. I loved that the book really kept me guessing till the end, some unexpected twists and a brilliant ending

Ruth Jones writes beautifully with such an easy to read flowing style. I found this story both tragic but uplifting, based around four generations of women in one family each with their individual back story and problems that most people can relate to. Rifts between mother and daughter are harsh and in this instance difficult to come back from and I was willing someone to bang heads together! Ruth's conclusion was satisfying and a little unexpected. A brilliant book.

Set in Wales, an emotional tale of four generations, living along side each other. An emotional read with truly likeable characters, Set in lovely Wales with a truly lovely, unexpected ending.

I love all the Yvonne work that Ruth Jones has done so I was delighted to give this book a go. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy it at all because I did but I found Grace the matriarch rather unrealistic. I know there are plenty of fit 90 year olds but she surpassed any I have met. The other characters especially the main females were rather predictable. Great ending though so worth sticking with it.

4 generations of one family. All with secrets and histories. Hard to put down, surprising ending. Ideal reading for a cold autumn's day.

A real women’s book, about women, four generations of formidable Welsh women, at that! A great story, a roller coaster of ups and downs, lots of tears and laughs too. I loved it!

This was a lovely palate cleanser from the more murderous stuff I usually enjoy reading. Full of Ruth Jones’ trademark warmth and humour, this was a great multi-generational family drama of the highest calibre.

A love story. 4 generations to get to know. To begin a tiny bit slow but wait…………!!
A portrait of family life: ups & downs, following different paths, falling in & out.
Beautiful ending. This story has the power to run,
Really pleased I carried on , so rewarding. Beautiful prose , very different at times but for the right reasons.
Prepare to blub

A wonderfully told story following 4 generations of Welsh women, with complex characters, complicated relationships and a glorious and beautiful ending.

What an absolute joy of a book! I loved the depth of the main character Grace, but the supporting cast of Elin, Alys and Bec added even more to that. Shades of Nessa in Soozie, providing the light entertainment in a novel which dealt with some serious issues in a thoughtful and sensitive way. Based around the planning for Grace’s surprise 90th birthday party which becomes the background to a story which takes us back over 70 years, the lives and lives of a family of strong women pulls you in. I loved it.
Each Ruth Jones novel is better than the one before. Thank you to the publisher and #netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this.

I have read all three books by Ruth Jones, and they get better each time. The writing has developed beautifully and this story about the relationships between generations of women will resonate. It's heart-warming and I was rooting for all of the characters.

Such a lovely book, it made me smile and also shed a tear. It is a warm and interesting read that keeps the reader coming back for more.
A story of four women in the same family, mother, daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter with ages ranging from 89 to 16. The book is set mainly in the present but there are chapters that recount times in the past and so give the back stories of these relatable characters.
A gem of a read, like a cosy hug and easy to get lost in.
