Ava’s escaping from her very hectic job for a short adventure to Iceland. She’s met by Brooks, the son of the man who wrote the information that enticed Ava to travel there. Upon meeting Ava, Brooks begins an antagonistic relationship with Ava, as he’s burdened to be her tour guide because his dad has been incapacitated. Brooks has other concerns on his mind, much more important than toting another tourist around. Brooks was raised by separated parents, one in Atlanta and the other in Iceland. So he’s more Americanized than to be expected, having only spent summers with his father in Iceland. The fishing village comes under environmental attack and Brooks and Ava join forces to investigate. Their relationship develops slowly and set-backs happen. I like that it shows the ups and downs of developing a relationship and trust

Ava is on vacation that was very long overdue but here vacation is everything but stress-free. Brooks has a lot of problems someone is making a lot of damage to his Town and he doesn't have time to play a tourist guide. Interesting but for me not much believable story, what I did like was Brooks and how they two start their romance.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

Both Ava and Brooks allow their childhood to affect their search for a life partner in this cute enemies to lovers romance, with an strong environmental issue to deal with, this makes for a good storyline. Well written, I enjoyed it

Ava Espinosa is a newly-promoted CEO of marketing at a tech start-up in Boston. Brooks Jonsson is the son of a tour guide and SAR pilot living in Iceland. Ava travels to Iceland for vacation before starting her new position and is paired up with Brooks as her tour guide. The two immediately get off to a bad start and attempt to avoid each other’s company, which is practically impossible as Brooks is Ava’s tour guide. Pollution in the water affecting fisheries in the local area brings the two “enemies” together as they work to provide awareness to the environmental issues affecting the town and find the root of the problem.

This book was cute and pretty low angst. I love enemies to lovers romances, but I feel like it wasn’t fully fleshed out between Ava and Brooks. They were already “lovers” by 45%. I need tons of animosity and then intense groveling! I did love the snowy setting (especially while reading this at the height of the summer heat). I would give it 3.5 stars because the characters seemed a little flat.

Thank you so much for the opportunity and privilege to review this book!
So excited to read the adventures of Brooks & Ava. I love the character arc for each person and how their differences come together to ultimately put them in the path to love. Full review to follow here and on the blog.

A stress-free, last-minute, long overdue vacation in Iceland is all Ava Espinosa wants. So, she does what she does best and plans every detail down to the minute. The trip is just what she needs to reignite that spark missing from her life before taking her new promotion.

Brooks Jónsson doesn’t give a crap about itineraries. He’s a search and rescue pilot, not a tour guide, but his dad is counting on him to help him with the business. Naturally, he’d get stuck with a tourist carrying a three-inch binder of her travel plans. He needs to focus on pinpointing whatever is affecting his hometown’s fishing trade and crushing their economy, not a high-strung tourist.

From not apologizing when he almost runs her over to spoiling her rigid schedule with his tardiness, Brooks isn’t shy about his contempt for Ava. What he isn’t expecting is Ava giving that attitude right back. Every time she opens her sassy mouth, all he can think of is silencing her with a kiss.

When Ava catches wind about the mystery affecting the town’s marine ecosystem, she offers her expertise. Although the town is desperate for help, Brooks doesn’t trust outsiders. But Ava isn’t so easily deterred and with the rest of the townspeople accepting her into their fold, he struggles to hold onto his go-it-alone approach.

As Ava and Brooks reexamine how they’ve lost sight of what matters, they soon learn that opposites attract. But with happily ever after on their horizon, their past choices emerge, threatening to tear them apart.
