Someone Else's Honeymoon follows Charley's journey as she unravels what her life is like without her boyfriend of 10 years after she finds out that he's cheating on her. The story is filled with transformations and a grand vacation that allows Charley to spend time away from everything she has ever known.

The book honestly has a great premise. From the get-go, you can expect a light and quick read that will never feel heavy at any point. I got exactly that and I enjoyed that about this book. However, it feels like that's all there is to it: a quick, mindless read. You shouldn't take this too seriously because there isn't a lot of depth to the story and characters.

I feel like the story focused too much on unnecessary things, so we never got to see the interactions between the love interests. It was really hard to convince myself that Charley and Ed were the "end game" because... there's just no chemistry and not enough story there.

If this book was fleshed out more to showcase how Charley grew after the relationship that held her back, maybe it would have worked better. But it's a romance and the romance part just doesn't do it for me.

This book wasn’t exactly what I was expecting from the synopsis, but it was a cute and quick read. The book had some unique storylines (how often does a main character inherit a sex shop) that helped make the story engaging. While it wasn’t my favorite book from Portia MacIntosh, it was fun and I would recommend it.
I was given this advanced copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Very fast paced and great character development. Loved Charley and loved the whole concept. One of the better romcom books i’ve picked up! Thanks for the ARC! Will look out for more by this author.

This was one of those cute stories that you can just read through in one sitting.

It starts off with what can only be described as a horrible Christmas day for our main character, and we move, in quite a bit of detail, through the stages of her recovery from her break up with her long term boyfriend.

She takes a trip to Antigua with her parents, and then the fun starts. We meet our love interest, and they spend an idyllic holiday exploring and having adventures. I loved how the scenery and activities were written - it had me longing for a sunny holiday!

I felt that the relationship was possibly a but rushed, but after the usual confusing mishap that we see in these rom-com books, there is a lovely ending, and I just enjoyed my day reading this book.

Super fun and flirty! Was a quick read and I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading it. Charlie was an incredible lead to follow and her growth through the book was compelling and lovely.

I loved this book! It was a quick read for me, but the story was very well put together! Charley’s character had the best development!

3.75 stars Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the E-Arc. This book was super cute and such a easy read. I loved the MC Charley how she owned herself and was bold enough to make changes in her life instead of clinging to the past

Fans of romantic comedies are in for a treat with Phoebe Macleod’s delightful new novel, Someone Else’s Honeymoon.

Christmas day is the one day of the year you spend with the people you love most in this world – it is certainly not meant to be the day your heart is broken into a million tiny pieces because you have just been broken up with. Charley feels as if her whole world has come crumbling down around her ears. Forced to move back in with her parents, her future stretches out bleakly ahead of her. But Charley should not give up hope just yet because fate has a couple of surprises up its sleeve just for her…

Ed isn’t having the time of his life either. Having been jilted at the altar by a bride he has never met, Ed has decided to go on honeymoon on his own to figure out what he’s going to do next with his life. Romance is the last thing on his mind, but could a chance encounter with Charley force him to reevaluate his life, lift his mood and compel him to take another chance on happy ever after?

As Ed and Charley find themselves getting closer and closer, it looks like a happy ending might be on the cards for them – until they are wrenched apart once again. Will they find their way back to one another? Or should they just resign themselves to the fact that their love was not meant to be?

Phoebe MacLeod’s Someone Else’s Honeymoon is a gorgeous romantic comedy readers will adore. A lovely read about letting go of the past, forging forward and triumphing over all the obstacles standing in your way and falling in love packed with wit, warmth and charm, Someone Else’s Honeymoon features two terrific characters readers will fall in love with and cheer on their way to their happy ending.

Readers looking for a fun and flirty read will love Phoebe MacLeod’s Someone Else’s Honeymoon.

"Stewardess"?? Did we miss a couple of respectful generations where we acknowledge that these professionals are actually called flight attendants?

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.

I feel like I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I should have. I’m usually a sucker for this type of romance and tropes, but this just didn’t do it for me. The characters seemed slightly surface-level, and could’ve been that slight bit more loveable with some deeper character development.

This book is a gem, from beginning to end I have loved everything about this one. This is my first book by this author- I already need more. This is without a doubt a book worthy of being a bestseller.

I have loved Charley, the journey through this one with her has been a delight. She has been a likeable and realistic character. I have adored her. I have been rooting for her and Ed.

This is a book which has lifted me out of the lowest of moods. I have devoured page after page in just one sitting. Not only has this book lifted my mood, it’s left me with a huge smile.

There have been times reading this book, I have laughed out loud. The characters are fantastic and I have been transported by the writing in this one.

I cannot say anything negative about this book. It’s a book worthy of all the praise and definitely a five star read.

Charley's character had been hurt by an earth-loving a**hole that couldn't keep it in his pants despite the fact they had been together for TEN YEARS! He had the audacity to suggest a "break" on Christmas of all days, and while he used their gift swap spat as a catalyst (but seriously WHO would give someone a toothbrush as a present?!), he had already been on Santa's naughty list well before the holiday. I felt for Charley, but I also loved how she handled things because that confrontation was PRICELESS, and SO deserved! Life changed on a dime for her, but as they say, when a door closes, a window opens, and her window led to a trip to Antigua (OMG!) where she meets Ed...and takes a spot on his honeymoon in lieu of his wife. *gasp* Now, before you get started, it's not what you're thinking, though it sounds sordid, and things development naturally between them as they spend more and more time together, but all is not smooth sailing, or windsurfing, in paradise! There are more obstacles to overcome just like any other potential couple, between over eager cameramen, spontaneous trips out of pocket, and cell phone mishaps that start the ball rolling on six months of akwardness...to say the very least. In the end, all's well that ends well, but if you want to know if they reach their very own HEA...you'll have to read it to find out!

Come for the curious title, but stay for the AMAZING story filled with characters and situations you won't want to miss. Your heart will be warmed (all the lovely moments!), and your stomach muscles tested (from laughing!), but you'll be one satisfied reader.

I loved the idea of this book, but I just didn't enjoy the execution. Ed and Charley didn't do anything for me as characters, and I didn't feel any connection or chemistry between the two.

As well as this, the writing fell flat quite a lot. The start of this book is incredibly slow, and it never really kicked into gear.

I’m not going to lie, this book starts out very very slow.
Our MC Charley is great, I loved how she was written and thoroughly enjoyed following her story. However I was sad that we didn’t really meet our main man until nearly halfway through the book. He had so much potential to be a great book boyfriend but there was quite limited build up to the relationship so it all felt a bit rushed rather than that building anticipation I love.
The time in Antigua passes too quickly. One minute Ed and Charley are bumping into each other, the next, they are taking their newly-established relationship to the next level. Suddenly, Ed is leaving Antigua and Charley is left on holiday with her parents. In this way, I didn’t feel connected to their relationship and was not convinced by their feelings for one another. After all, they barely knew each other and were very quickly considering the next step after the holiday. It certainly felt like a speedy relationship that moved too fast to be believable.
This had a lot of potential to be super funny, cute, and chill. And it mostly was, but it left me wanting for more.
