This book had such a good premise. Unfortunately I just couldn’t stand Ed and it felt like McLeod wrote herself into a corner.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for proving me with an ARC in return for an honest review.

This 5 star book came at the right time for me. I was needing something light to laugh out loud with and just sit back relax and enjoy. It is a perfect beach read and might have you making new friends. So many tender moments and so many laugh out loud situations made this a very easy read for me and tough to put down. This was not the story I expected but I was not disappointed at all and the fact that it was set mostly in sunshine and beautiful scenery was a total plus to me.

I really liked this whimsical story and would recommend fans of rom-com and chick-lit to add it to their lists. If the genre is not usually your thing but near a good beach read, this is it.

I liked this book and I did think it had potentially to be a book I loved...however, the first 25% set up the main character Charley and how she had a fresh start after splitting up with her cheating partner (they'd been together ten years). Then she goes on holiday with her parents /someone else's honeymoon 🤣. And the last 15% is resolving the issue. Standard romance but I thought it could be more about the relationship.

The concept of someone else's honeymoon could have been really interesting. Ed and his story is cool and how he was on a show similar to married at first sight explains how he's on a honeymoon by himself.

Meddling PA to ruin things is predictable but thank God for solid best friends that go out and sort it out so it could end.

A super easy to read and I did fly through it. If you are looking for something relatively lighthearted I'd recommend this. Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this✨✨

Phoebe Macleod's 'Someone Else's Honeymoon' is a funny and quirky romantic comedy. Charley finds herself suddenly single on Christmas Day when she finds out her long-time partner has been cheating on her with a co-worker of his. In the sudden chaos, Charley finds herself living at her parent's house again while she gets settled. During her stay, her parents invite her to go on holiday with them to Antigua. There she meets Ed, a former contestant on a reality TV show where his married was arranged without him ever seeing his future bride. In a shocking turn of events for Ed, he was jilted at the alter by his would-have-been bride and as a consolation the production team let him go on what would have been his honeymoon putting him in Charley's path. Ed and Charley quickly develop a relationship and end up spending time together. While production is trying to wrap up interviews for the show, they find out about Charley and she runs away in an effort to not be dragged into the televised mess. In the process, she loses touch with Ed and spends the remainder of the story attempting to get back in touch and moping at her failed attempts. Eventually Charley's best friend steps in and ensures that they reunite and get their happy ending. It was a fun read but the part where Charley is trying to get back in touch with Ed and the moping took way too long and the ending was rushed. The relationship could have been more developed but it sreves as a great beach read.

I absolutely tore through this book. I loved the connection to family and friends brought about by the ending of the relationship and even more I loved the descriptions of self discovery. So often people lose themselves in relationships and only wake up once they're over. A must read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this book was a really cute quick read once I could get myself to sit down and focus enough to read it. At first I was not totally sucked in like I expected but I think that was more me than it was the story. I really liked that it wasn’t just a typical romance story but instead showed Charley’s growth as a person herself before Ed came into her life. I think Phoebe did an amazing job with this story and I am so glad I was able to get it early. Thank you to Boldwood Books & Netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’m sorry to say that this was a DNF for me. I tried several times but just could not get into the story.

This was a cute, summery read that I thoroughly enjoyed! The plot was good and kept me interested and the FMC was funny and at times I felt as if I was right there next to her! I did like both Charley and Ed, and enjoyed seeing their relationship develop! My only complaint is that it felt a little rushed. But I’d still recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I loved this book and didn’t want it to end. It’s the first novel I’ve read by Phoebe Macleod but it won’t be the last. It has likeable characters and every girl needs a friend like Mads in their corner. An easy to read rom com that is perfect for reading by the pool, on a plane or even on an evening at home. I highly recommend this book.

Charley gets dumped on Christmas day, so her parents invite her to join them on a trip. She mets Ed, who is in a similar situation having been left at the alter. The two end up spending the rest of the trip partaking in newlywed activities.

I did not love this book. It was slow for me to get through and I think that was because I didnt feel the chemistry between these two.

Thanks for the ARC Netgalley and publisher.

First of thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really quick and funny read.
It made me laugh a lot and feeling warm inside.

We get to know a few characters and I really liked them all except for Charleys ex. What a duch he was.
I love how Charley explores and finds herself during her new life.

The writing was good and the story even better since it made me not wanting to stop reading it.

If you are after a funny read with characters that is finding themselves then this might be something for you.

Someone Else’s Honeymoon is a quick summery read set mostly half in Kent half in the beautiful location of Antigua so if you’re looking for some late summer vicarious thrills then pick this one up!

Unfortunately I can relate more to Charley’s story than I would like - swap Antigua for New York! Charley finds herself single after ten years with her childhood sweetheart, back with her parents and trying to find her feet, a flat and true self. Her parents invite her newly made over self on holiday to Antigua where she meets our hero Ed.

Ed’s story is quite different and funny but very up to date. I’ve certainly not read any books with this angle! The pair hit it off immediately and spend most of the holiday together before Ed flies home.

This one flew past really quickly. It’s quite short, just over 200 pages but with very easy to read writing and down to earth characters.

If you’re looking for something similar try The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren.

Honeymoon by Phoebe MacLeod was like the song Enchanted by Taylor Swift come to life. 😭

I read this book in two sittings and I was on the edge of my seat/holding my breathe wondering and hoping that the main characters would find their way back to each other.

After her longtime boyfriend turns out to be more of a cheating loon than she thought, Charlotte moves back in with her parents and changes her life completely. But when her parents offer her a holiday with them to help her get over the breakup, she immediately says yes. And so begins this story after Charlotte meets Ed, a man alone on his honeymoon after he was jilted at the altar. As these two get to know each other, an instant connection develops but when something happens, these two are thrown apart not knowing if they’ll ever see each other again.

This book was the perfect short read that I needed in between my thriller reads & I cannot be more in love with the ending.

Someone Else's Honeymoon follows Charley who breaks up with her boyfreind on Christmas day and moves back in with her parents. Chaley and her parents go on vaction where Charley meets Ed who was left at the alter. Charley and Ed really hit it off but then fate pulls them in opposite directions. And Charley is determined to find her way back to him,

This book was just not good. There was lack of chemsity between the main characters, and there relationship moved way to fast. Charley had only known Ed for like 5 mintues and falls in love with him. It was also very slow paced and it took half the book for the main characters to even meet. There were a lot of unnecessary detials that addeded nothing to the plot. Also, the writing was just very bad. Don't wasit your time with this one it is not worth it. There are so many rom coms out there just pass on this one. Neverthelss, thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of this book,

This was a fun story! I liked the characters and the banter in it and thought it was so easy to get through. It took a while to get to the romance but once we were there it was such a sweet story. The characters really connected in this book and I felt like it was genuine. This was a perfect beach read!

Thank you #netgalley for an early read of #someoneelseshoneymoon

Charlie found herself homeless on Christmas Day, it was like her world have fallen apart. She move back home with her parent and trying to move on with the help of her BFF. To help their daughter, her parent invited Charlie to join them on their annual vacation and it was there she met Ed who is on honeymoon alone after being jilted at the alter by a bride he never met before.

Overall I enjoy the simplicity of the storyline which easy to follow. However, I found that some imbalance in the plot especially the time where Charlie met Ed was too short as compared to the focus on the Charlie’s breakup.

This book had so much potential… I’m a little sad cause it could’ve been so good but the book was just really lacking in some points.
It was just too short and some parts were too long, unnecessary plot, but at the same time really rushed, the necessary plot.
The love interest only gets introduced at 40% into the book - the reader just keeps waiting for something to happen and grows impatient. The first half of the book is mostly just the main character breaking up with her boyfriend and having a glowup, nothing else. It just gets repetitive after a while.
The time she spends in Antigua (with Ed, who’s on his honeymoon) is over way too fast. The meet and after talking for only a little time, they’re already in love. It was just unrealistic and should’ve been more detailed and longer.
I really liked Ed and Charley as protagonists though, it was fun to follow them on their little honeymoon adventures and I’d love to meet someone on holiday and instantly be friends with them too.
This book was enjoyable and is a great summer read. Although it lacks at some points - it was still a fast read. So if you want to read something quick and fun, this is the one for you!

The book is a romance, but romance only happens in 20% of it. It takes more than 40% of the book for the love interest to show up and when he does, they have a mismatch and go more than 6 months without being seen. Ed and Charley don't have chemistry together, the phrases and dialogues are well plastered, apart from the scenes being too descriptive of things that are not important to the narrative. Reading became dull and mechanical, without emotion. The honeymoon love plot is pretty cool, but it was underused.
