Fans of romantic comedies are in for a treat with Phoebe Macleod’s delightful new novel, Someone Else’s Honeymoon.
Christmas day is the one day of the year you spend with the people you love most in this world – it is certainly not meant to be the day your heart is broken into a million tiny pieces because you have just been broken up with. Charley feels as if her whole world has come crumbling down around her ears. Forced to move back in with her parents, her future stretches out bleakly ahead of her. But Charley should not give up hope just yet because fate has a couple of surprises up its sleeve just for her…
Ed isn’t having the time of his life either. Having been jilted at the altar by a bride he has never met, Ed has decided to go on honeymoon on his own to figure out what he’s going to do next with his life. Romance is the last thing on his mind, but could a chance encounter with Charley force him to reevaluate his life, lift his mood and compel him to take another chance on happy ever after?
As Ed and Charley find themselves getting closer and closer, it looks like a happy ending might be on the cards for them – until they are wrenched apart once again. Will they find their way back to one another? Or should they just resign themselves to the fact that their love was not meant to be?
Phoebe MacLeod’s Someone Else’s Honeymoon is a gorgeous romantic comedy readers will adore. A lovely read about letting go of the past, forging forward and triumphing over all the obstacles standing in your way and falling in love packed with wit, warmth and charm, Someone Else’s Honeymoon features two terrific characters readers will fall in love with and cheer on their way to their happy ending.
Readers looking for a fun and flirty read will love Phoebe MacLeod’s Someone Else’s Honeymoon.

"Stewardess"?? Did we miss a couple of respectful generations where we acknowledge that these professionals are actually called flight attendants?
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC for an honest review.

I feel like I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I should have. I’m usually a sucker for this type of romance and tropes, but this just didn’t do it for me. The characters seemed slightly surface-level, and could’ve been that slight bit more loveable with some deeper character development.

This book is a gem, from beginning to end I have loved everything about this one. This is my first book by this author- I already need more. This is without a doubt a book worthy of being a bestseller.
I have loved Charley, the journey through this one with her has been a delight. She has been a likeable and realistic character. I have adored her. I have been rooting for her and Ed.
This is a book which has lifted me out of the lowest of moods. I have devoured page after page in just one sitting. Not only has this book lifted my mood, it’s left me with a huge smile.
There have been times reading this book, I have laughed out loud. The characters are fantastic and I have been transported by the writing in this one.
I cannot say anything negative about this book. It’s a book worthy of all the praise and definitely a five star read.

Charley's character had been hurt by an earth-loving a**hole that couldn't keep it in his pants despite the fact they had been together for TEN YEARS! He had the audacity to suggest a "break" on Christmas of all days, and while he used their gift swap spat as a catalyst (but seriously WHO would give someone a toothbrush as a present?!), he had already been on Santa's naughty list well before the holiday. I felt for Charley, but I also loved how she handled things because that confrontation was PRICELESS, and SO deserved! Life changed on a dime for her, but as they say, when a door closes, a window opens, and her window led to a trip to Antigua (OMG!) where she meets Ed...and takes a spot on his honeymoon in lieu of his wife. *gasp* Now, before you get started, it's not what you're thinking, though it sounds sordid, and things development naturally between them as they spend more and more time together, but all is not smooth sailing, or windsurfing, in paradise! There are more obstacles to overcome just like any other potential couple, between over eager cameramen, spontaneous trips out of pocket, and cell phone mishaps that start the ball rolling on six months of akwardness...to say the very least. In the end, all's well that ends well, but if you want to know if they reach their very own HEA...you'll have to read it to find out!
Come for the curious title, but stay for the AMAZING story filled with characters and situations you won't want to miss. Your heart will be warmed (all the lovely moments!), and your stomach muscles tested (from laughing!), but you'll be one satisfied reader.

I loved the idea of this book, but I just didn't enjoy the execution. Ed and Charley didn't do anything for me as characters, and I didn't feel any connection or chemistry between the two.
As well as this, the writing fell flat quite a lot. The start of this book is incredibly slow, and it never really kicked into gear.

I’m not going to lie, this book starts out very very slow.
Our MC Charley is great, I loved how she was written and thoroughly enjoyed following her story. However I was sad that we didn’t really meet our main man until nearly halfway through the book. He had so much potential to be a great book boyfriend but there was quite limited build up to the relationship so it all felt a bit rushed rather than that building anticipation I love.
The time in Antigua passes too quickly. One minute Ed and Charley are bumping into each other, the next, they are taking their newly-established relationship to the next level. Suddenly, Ed is leaving Antigua and Charley is left on holiday with her parents. In this way, I didn’t feel connected to their relationship and was not convinced by their feelings for one another. After all, they barely knew each other and were very quickly considering the next step after the holiday. It certainly felt like a speedy relationship that moved too fast to be believable.
This had a lot of potential to be super funny, cute, and chill. And it mostly was, but it left me wanting for more.

Such a fun and cute little read. The spice was on point. I think its a perfect read for the summer. Really enjoyed.

2.5 stars
This book had such a good premise. Unfortunately I just couldn’t stand Ed and it felt like McLeod wrote herself into a corner.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for proving me with an ARC in return for an honest review.
This 5 star book came at the right time for me. I was needing something light to laugh out loud with and just sit back relax and enjoy. It is a perfect beach read and might have you making new friends. So many tender moments and so many laugh out loud situations made this a very easy read for me and tough to put down. This was not the story I expected but I was not disappointed at all and the fact that it was set mostly in sunshine and beautiful scenery was a total plus to me.
I really liked this whimsical story and would recommend fans of rom-com and chick-lit to add it to their lists. If the genre is not usually your thing but near a good beach read, this is it.

I liked this book and I did think it had potentially to be a book I loved...however, the first 25% set up the main character Charley and how she had a fresh start after splitting up with her cheating partner (they'd been together ten years). Then she goes on holiday with her parents /someone else's honeymoon 🤣. And the last 15% is resolving the issue. Standard romance but I thought it could be more about the relationship.
The concept of someone else's honeymoon could have been really interesting. Ed and his story is cool and how he was on a show similar to married at first sight explains how he's on a honeymoon by himself.
Meddling PA to ruin things is predictable but thank God for solid best friends that go out and sort it out so it could end.
A super easy to read and I did fly through it. If you are looking for something relatively lighthearted I'd recommend this. Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this✨✨

Phoebe Macleod's 'Someone Else's Honeymoon' is a funny and quirky romantic comedy. Charley finds herself suddenly single on Christmas Day when she finds out her long-time partner has been cheating on her with a co-worker of his. In the sudden chaos, Charley finds herself living at her parent's house again while she gets settled. During her stay, her parents invite her to go on holiday with them to Antigua. There she meets Ed, a former contestant on a reality TV show where his married was arranged without him ever seeing his future bride. In a shocking turn of events for Ed, he was jilted at the alter by his would-have-been bride and as a consolation the production team let him go on what would have been his honeymoon putting him in Charley's path. Ed and Charley quickly develop a relationship and end up spending time together. While production is trying to wrap up interviews for the show, they find out about Charley and she runs away in an effort to not be dragged into the televised mess. In the process, she loses touch with Ed and spends the remainder of the story attempting to get back in touch and moping at her failed attempts. Eventually Charley's best friend steps in and ensures that they reunite and get their happy ending. It was a fun read but the part where Charley is trying to get back in touch with Ed and the moping took way too long and the ending was rushed. The relationship could have been more developed but it sreves as a great beach read.

I absolutely tore through this book. I loved the connection to family and friends brought about by the ending of the relationship and even more I loved the descriptions of self discovery. So often people lose themselves in relationships and only wake up once they're over. A must read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this book was a really cute quick read once I could get myself to sit down and focus enough to read it. At first I was not totally sucked in like I expected but I think that was more me than it was the story. I really liked that it wasn’t just a typical romance story but instead showed Charley’s growth as a person herself before Ed came into her life. I think Phoebe did an amazing job with this story and I am so glad I was able to get it early. Thank you to Boldwood Books & Netgalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Such a good little read! I got sucked into the story and I just live a cute romance! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for early access to this title!

I’m sorry to say that this was a DNF for me. I tried several times but just could not get into the story.

I loved this book and didn’t want it to end. It’s the first novel I’ve read by Phoebe Macleod but it won’t be the last. It has likeable characters and every girl needs a friend like Mads in their corner. An easy to read rom com that is perfect for reading by the pool, on a plane or even on an evening at home. I highly recommend this book.

Charley gets dumped on Christmas day, so her parents invite her to join them on a trip. She mets Ed, who is in a similar situation having been left at the alter. The two end up spending the rest of the trip partaking in newlywed activities.
I did not love this book. It was slow for me to get through and I think that was because I didnt feel the chemistry between these two.
Thanks for the ARC Netgalley and publisher.

First of thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really quick and funny read.
It made me laugh a lot and feeling warm inside.
We get to know a few characters and I really liked them all except for Charleys ex. What a duch he was.
I love how Charley explores and finds herself during her new life.
The writing was good and the story even better since it made me not wanting to stop reading it.
If you are after a funny read with characters that is finding themselves then this might be something for you.

I enjoyed this book. The plot was well paced and the characters were well developed. I would recommend this book to others.
