Ok this book was so good! I loved it. The suspense was next level. The last 25% of the book was so action packed I found myself holding my breath!

This book had me hooked from page one! My favorite part of reading this genre is when there are unexpected twists and turns, and the author of this novel delivered. Would definitely recommend!

Ugh.

Slow to start honestly and a kinda disappointing, messy and chaotic and honestly made no sense.

Characters had no personality, no motive, no distinguishing trait. Just one "type" after the other which made no sense at all.

I suppose I expected a bit more and I was honestly left disappointed, the plot wasn't riveting or exciting either.

Libby escapes her abusive boyfriend and moves into an apartment that has been divided up into flats.
Before long she's noticing strange happenings like things going missing from her flat and feeling like she's being watched.
When she learns that the last tenant disappeared with no trace, she feels the need to help her dad find out what happened to his daughter.
With lots of twists and turns, plenty of suspects and red herrings this book really kept me turning the pages!

While I really enjoyed this book, it wasn't one of those 'I couldn't put it down', to me there were too many red herrings and random characters that didn't need to be included.

I still enjoyed it and I will definitely want to read more by this author.

The Houseshare by Carla Kovach was another excellent book, and was full of twists and great turns. Which makes it a great book for a holiday read. All of Carla's books are an excellent read and this one was no different. I highly recommend all her books.

This was good but very predictable. I mean I had it pegged from near enough the start as to who was doing what and the fact that Libby couldn't see it made me absolutely loathe her character; she was far too naive and whiny to be likeable.

I felt I skimmed the last 40% as I just wanted to get to the punchline as such and it was exactly what I imagined. There was one good twist about one of the characters that I didn't see coming but apart from that you could see everything coming a mile off. I felt like we could have done with one last twist at the very end which would have made this better but it just didn't come.

I doubt I will remember this book in a year's time.

*Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and Carla Kovach for the copy of this book. All views are my own.*

Such a great book. A definite thriller that deserves my recommendation. Lots of twists, turns and a definite rollercoaster.

I really enjoyed this! Fast and twisty, another great thriller from Kovach.
I immediately warmed to Libby, empathised with her situation with her horrible ex who won't get the message and constantly hounds her with pleading or angry messages.
Then the story of the previous tennant gets introduced to the readers, who has gone missing. My friends may know I love stories about missing people, so I was completely gripped from hereon in.
The ending wasn't a huge surprise to me, but I was thoroughly entertained.

Thanks netgalley for allowing to read Carla Kovachs new book.
Libby had moved into her new flat very excited to start a new life with her cat Einstein.
She had been living with her boyfriend Gary but he was getting abusive towards her, and Libby knew he was seeing another
Woman.
There were two lovely girls living in the house and the landlord was very nice and helpful.
The only bad thing was the downstairs tenant who was forever throwing furniture and China around and making terrible noises.

At first all was good but Libby started finding things missing and then finding them elsewhere and felt sh was being watched, was it Gary.
The landlord said he would speak to the down stair tenant about the noise, but Libby felt there was something strange going on and she was scared.

It started off well, so promising, but the book's second half really let me down!

This is my first book from this author and the premise sounds right up my alley!
The book's first half was engaging, with lovely character building, lots of background, exploration of domestic abuse victimhood and self-harm, childhood abandonment, and plenty of space for speculations (my guess about the mystery Mr Bull (was it a reference to Bullcr@p?) was spot on, I always love when that happens). So far so good, right?

Well, around halfway in unfortunately the enjoyment dropped off, as the book became ever so repetitive and I just could not bear it... it seemed totally different pacing to the first half. Around 70% in we already know whodunit and from there it's just fluff to finish. I thought maybe the author is going on because there is a secret reveal or twist coming after the revelation, but no.

I have to give it 2.5 stars rounded up to 3 stars, but that's being generous, as the last part of the book really annoyed me in the way it messed up the whole of the book and my enjoyment of it.

I also was not aware of this book being a reprint of a 2014 book with the title "To Let".

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC!

I love these mystery/suspense thrillers. Thank you to the publisher and also to NetGalley for the ARC.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Kept me guessing about who was the suspicious one, Tim or the mysterious Mr Bull. And then there was also Trevor and the not very nice ex as well.
Great job keeping me wondering.
Well written and easy read.

What a brilliant read!

Libby is starting again after finding her partner cheating on her, after years of abuse she's had enough and finds a room to rent. Her ex, won't leave her alone, an angry employee is harassing her and someone else starts tormenting her. She's glad for her new housemates.... But is all as it seems?

I read this really quick, its full of thrills and twists. I am already a fan of Carla Kovach so I had high expectations and it didn't disappoint.

Libby has left an abusive relationship with Gary, but he can't seem to let her go, reaching out to her constantly. But she makes it clear that it is done by not replying to any of his contacts. She finds a new place she can't believe she can afford, with a very nice landlord, Time, and a few neighbors, which includes one, Mr. Bull, she has yet to meet. She is enjoying herself until the day Roberto, the father of the girl who used to live in her apartment, Bettina, shows up. Is this her perfect new start, or her worst nightmare?
This psychological thriller is told in multiple POV. It stats slow, with a lot of tension building, but the last 25% are very strong. The ending was very predictable, but this read was quick, disturbing and entertaining.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Libby is making a clean break from a relationship and is ecstatic that she is able to find a nice place to live with reasonable rent. She instantly befriends the other housemates, including the landlord.

She begins to feel a bit unsettled when items mysteriously disappear from her apartment but chalks it up to her misplacing things. Loud noises from the apartment below also has her on edge as she is never able to set her eyes on the tenant. Eventually learning that the previous tenant vanished without a trace, Libby feels there is more to the story and starts asking questions that may be better left unasked.

This book is full of twists and turns that always keep you wondering. I’m looking forward to reading other titles from this author. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. #NetGalley #Bookouture #TheHouseshare

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I could not get past 30 percent of this book. The main character, Libby, was just so annoying and it was a very slow read. Libby left her abusive and cheating boyfriend and moved into a small flat. He still calls her and texts her constantly. She has a job that she doesn't really like and a sister, Olly, who she goes to for everything.

What an eerie story… an old murder brought to life. Love the cover and the blurb had me grabbing this book!

What did I like? I like a hood thriller/mystery and this one kept me guessing until the end. Libby starts a new life after leaving an abusive ex and an old murder comes back into life. The story is gripping, and suspenseful… I enjoyed it! Four stars!

Would I recommend or buy? I enjoy books by this author and don’t hesitate grabbing a copy when it’s presented. I love her Gina Harte series! If you love suspense this books for you!

I received a complimentary copy to read and voluntarily left this opinion!
