LOCAL GIRL MISSING was my introduction to Lisa Regan’s work, and to Josie Quinn, mild-mannered detective. Homebound from a much too short honeymoon on a foggy, winding mountain road, Josie and her detective husband, Noah, encounter a murdered young woman (Dina Hale), her fleeing companion (Allison Mills), and a killer on the run. Not exactly the homecoming they envisioned.

Hindered by seemingly irrelevant, sparse clues, Josie believes her best shot at solving the murder lies in locating Allison. Discovering a local hotel employed both the girls, Josie begins her search there and thinks she may have struck pay dirt when stumbling upon a photo, which suggests Allison’s interest in working at the hotel wasn’t relegated to collecting a paycheck. But when someone puts a bullet through Allison’s suspected love interest’s head (Max Combs) after ransacking his house, Josie finds herself scratching her head and back at square one.

With Dina’s murderer in custody and believing the contents of a mysterious black bag stolen from Max holds the key to the murder and the escalating possibilities surrounding motive, Josie realizes she’s not dealing with a single suspect or random acts of violence.

Interspersed throughout the novel is a somewhat disturbing secondary story involving a mysterious girl, which adds an additional layer of mystery. Because LOCAL GIRL MISSING is a solid whodunit, mystery buffs will eagerly embrace Ms. Regan’s latest book. Those craving fast-paced action may find the pacing a bit slow, exceedingly at times, though most will find their patience rewarded in the end. Much appreciation to Lisa Regan, Bookouture, and NetGalley for the ARC.

The 15th book in the series and still going strong. I am a little tired of the missing and murdered girl trope however this is not that tired overused trope. Lisa Regan has a way of delivering us something fresh and exciting with every book. I love Josie more and more with each book. If you haven’t read this series you are missing out on some great characters.

As soon as a new book comes out I read it with some friends and we all love them!!

Lisa Regan has done it again! Josie Quinn is out to find out what happened to a young, teenage girl. You will be pulled in from the first page. I read it in one sitting! I had to find out who did what to whom! What a page turner! This is #15 in a great series, but can also be read as a stand alone, as well, in my opinion. This book will not disappoint!

Already #15 on the Josie Quinn series. On the way back from their honeymoon (really Lisa Regan after what you did for the wedding you couldn’t let them finish their honeymoon?) Josie and Noah find a dead girl and another girl fleeing. Off they go. An enjoyable addition to the series.
I was given a copy by Netgalley, opinions are mine.

Riveting from start to finish! I'll admit that I'm late to the party with the Detective Josie Quinn series from Lisa Regan, but in preparation of this intriguing new release I started back at the beginning and binge read the entire series leading up to this fifteenth book in the addictive series. The core characters are hard-working, sincere cops who put their heart and soul into their work and each end up having their turn for drama and intrigue in their own personal life as the series plays out. This particular book brought us into the heart of the case right from the start with a turn of events that sets the stage for murder and mystery as they hunt through clues to find the bad guys. Addictive and satisfying!

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone that likes a close knit group of cops that put their lives on hold day in and day out to get out there and solve crimes. The storylines are always a mystery from beginning to end with drama galore and good friends and family playing a core part.

You would think, reading a book that is the 15th entry to a series, I would be lost...But no, I was totally into Local Girl Missing (Detective Josie Quinn Book 15). Lisa Regan set the scene and gave me everything I needed to know about her and how she felt about this situation I was reading

This book made me want to go back to the beginning of this series and dig in.

Local Girl Missing is the 15th book in the Detective Josie Quinn series. This can be read as a stand-alone.

The author does a great job capturing your attention from beginning to end. Josie and Noah are driving back home from their long awaited honeymoon. When suddenly a teenage girl runs right in front of their car and then takes off. As Josie runs after her, she encounters a man strangling another girl.

So many twists to keep you on your toes and guessing the whole time. I love Josie Quinn's character, vulnerable yet strong willed and determined. As always, the story is gripping and well-written. I highly recommend this series.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for an ARC of "Local Girl Missing" in exchange of an honest review.

Josie and Noah are heading back from their honeymoon when they see a teenaged girl running across the road. They pull over and find another girl being murdered. The perpetrator runs away so the detectives are hunting for the missing teen and her attacker...
Local Girl Missing is the 15th book to feature Josie Quinn, her new husband and colleague Noah, and the rest of their police department.
The majority of the book is set in the present day and focuses on Josie and the investigation. However there are some chapters showing a little girl's experiences growing up. Gradually we get clues as to how this connects to the case.
Josie is thoroughly frustrated with the lack of cooperation from the missing girl and her attacker. Both are keeping secrets, fearful for their lives, but this only serves to prevent Jodie and her team from making any progress in the case.
The pace of plot developments is fast and furious as always. There is plenty of drama and fans of the series will enjoy how Josie and Noah throw themselves into danger. Now there is an extra tension as they are married so need to keep their personal feelings separate whilst they fulfil their professional roles.
Local Girl Missing is a solid addition to the series and I look forward to the next book.

Lisa Regan's Josie Quinn's series is so well loved, and there are endless reasons why. Action-packed, gripping, twists you never foresee and characters that are like friends.
This is book 15, which is no easy feat. Regan keeps us hooked on every book, and the pacing or character development has not lacked in any of the ones I have read so far. This is no different.
The reader is thrown straight into a crime scene, and as with the last book I did feel sorry for Josie and Noah as they seem to have rotten luck! I did think 'would they really drop everything and go to a crime scene?', but then because I knew them well, I thought, 'of course they would!'
This book just doesn't stop giving with every page, and I loved being reunited with Josie and Noah for a few days!
Another cracker in the series!

Josie and Noah are driving home from their honeymoon and its very foggy. Its so hard for them to see. They hear some screams and then they see a figure running through the fog in front of their car, a girl with long brown hair. They can no longer see her. She is gone in the fog. They park on the shoulder of the road. They try to find the girl and there is forest all around them.
Josie hears faint sounds of music, then they hear a car engine. Someone had pulled over on the road. She then slips on a makeup compact. Its mirror was cracked, chunks of the ivory makeup spilled on the grass. They start walking to the sound of the music and see a girl laying on her back. A man has his hands wrapped around her throat. He keeps asking her "Where is it? Where the hell is it?
He then gets up on his feet and runs away in the forest. Josie tries to run after him and he gets to a dead end, a cliff. Josie tries to talk to him and he jumps off the cliff into a creek, called Roaring Creek which is a very wide creek and then vanishes. What was he looking for and where is the girl with the long brown hair that ran away and the girl laying on her back on the ground died.

This thriller is action packed. The action started out straight from the beginning to the very end. I did not want to put it down. I thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. I just loved the twists and turns! It has everything that I love in a thriller. This is a fast paced read. There are lots of secrets. I just love this series and love Josie, Noah and their dog named Trout. Trout is treated very well.

Detective Josie Quinn and her husband/colleague Lt Noah Fraley are on their way home from holiday when they decide to pull over due to dense fog. Only then do they realise that another two cars are also pulled over just ahead. They quickly realise that a man has a teenage girl pinned up against the car choking her. Just then another young woman races past their car and into the woods, running in fear for her life. Josie chases the man and rather than be caught he jumps into the river. So begins an intriguing story of a murdered teenager and her best friend nowhere to be found. Why was this man attacking them and why won't the other young woman come out of hiding. Plenty of twists and surprises with this one! Thank you NetGalley for my advance copy.

Lisa Regan is an incredible author. Her Detective Josie Quin books are brilliant!
I have to confess that I have read the whole series to date and this story is just as amazing as the previous ones. The only problem I have with them is that they come to an end and I just want to keep on reading!

Wow, wow, wow! Dynamite and explosive from beginning to end! Lisa Regan has become one of my top 5 authors. I eagerly await anything she is writing.

Josie and Noah are coming back from their honeymoon when they come upon an incident on the side of the road. Two girls, twists and turns and secrets to die for. You can absolutely read this as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend the entire series.

Wow! I absolutely loved this crime mystery novel. It can be read as a stand alone novel from the series. This is my first book I have read of Lisa Regan's murder mystery. Detective Josie Quinn and her husband lieutenant Noah worked for the Denton police department, among the mountains in Central Pennsylvania. She and her husband was travelling from their honeymoon back home for twelve hours in the fog on widow's ridge road, they had to pull off their car seeing the figure of a girl running through the fog into the woods in front of their car followed by a scream. She was injured and bleeding. What was she running from? They found another teenage girl being attacked and murdered at the same spot and a man trying to run away from this scene. The suspect jumped into the roaring creek. The crime scene is secured by officers along with a vehicle they start to search for the man. The vehicle is registered to Guy Hale, Dina's father. From the girl's driving license was picked up from the location, Josie finds the names of the two girls. One murdered is "Dina Hale", Eighteen years old, lived in Denton, the other one is Alison Mills, Seventeen years old, also from Denton. The novel begins when a strange man had emerged from the fog on a winding mountain road and suspected to have attacked two girls. Gretchen, the homicide detective, Noah and Josie prepares to investigate the crime.

Alison and Dina were kind of best friends met at the hotel they worked together. Josie and Noah interrogates Dina's and Alison's family. Josie gets to know that Diya took drugs regularly in the past. A copy of the driver's license of the man Josie saw running and jumping down roaring creek belonged to Mr. Elliot Calvert's. Searchers found his phone and cufflinks on the bank of the creek. What was he looking for doing attacking the teenage girls all the way out in the wood? He was a married father of a newborn. After the morning events, lives were shattered. Why didn't the girl Alison Mills flag down anyone she saw or call the police?

Dr Feist, confirms to the detective that cause of Dina Hale's death is strangulation with such a force that he fractured her hyoid bone. With all these findings and evidences, there are missing gaps still to reach and find Dina's perpetrators. Will Josie and her search team find the missing girl Alison Mills? With plenty of twists and turns in the plot, the story will keep you guessing till the end. I highly recommend this novel for crime mystery readers. I would rate it 5 star!!

I just reviewed the novel Local Girl Missing (Dectective Joise Quinn Book 15). Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture publishers for an advance copy for my honest review.

Another great book by Lisa Regan in the Josie Quinn series.
Two girls are attacked, leaving one dead and the other missing and probably injured. Detective Josie Quinn needs to find Alison and who did this to them.
Another man is found shot dead and Josie needs to find the twisted and sick person responsible for these killings.
Unputdownable!
