I look forward to the next Josie Quinn book as soon as I finish the current one. This series has had me hooked from the start. Lisa Regan has created a group of characters that I deeply care about and want to read more about their story. The latest book, Local Girl Missing, is book 15 in the series and it was a fantastic read! As with most of the Josie Quinn books the more you read the less likely you'll be able to stop reading!

Josie and Noah are on their way home from their honeymoon. They are driving on a country road to avoid traffic, but fog has made the trip quite challenging. They decide they should pull over as the fog is so dense they can hardly see the road. As they pull over to wait it out, they hear a scream, and a teenage girl runs in front of their car into the woods. Josie and Noah get out to see where she came from. As they walk up the road a bit, they see another car pulled over. There's a man kneeling over a girl and he's got his hands around her neck.....he's strangling her!! They get him off of her, but he goes running into the woods in a different direction than the other girl. Josie takes off after him, while Noah tends to the girl by the road. Josie catches up to the man as he gets to the edge of a cliff. Josie tells him to stop and identifies herself as a detective, but the man doesn't want to go with her and jumps into the water below. Josie can't see anything below.

As Josie heads back to find Noah, he is drenched in sweat as he's been giving CPR to the girl by the road the entire time Josie's been gone. Josie takes over and Noah calls for backup and an ambulance. She tells Noah about the man jumping and wants to try to find the other girl so that they can figure out what has happened here. As help arrives, they take the girl to the hospital, but she was dead. They find out the name of the man who jumped because his car was pulled over a bit further up the road. He's an architect with no record of any wrongdoing. They find the names of the girls because their wallets and phones were still in their car. Nothing seems to add up here.

Local Girl Missing is filled with many twists and turns that will keep you reading the book far too quickly. When I finish a Josie Quinn book I always enjoy the rush of excitement at the end of the book. My next thought is I wonder when the next book will be out? I can't recommend Local Girl Missing enough. It is amazing to me how Lisa Regan continues to weave these amazing stories together after 15 books and they just keep getting better! Do yourself a favor and get this book when it comes out on August 11. 2022. I rated this book 5 stars.

I'd like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy in exchange for a fair review. #LocalGirlMissing #JosieQuinn15 #NetGalley #Bookouture

Returning home after a week long belated honeymoon Detective Josie Quinn and her husband Nate stumble across an active crime scene in this latest instalment in the thrilling Detective Josie Quinn series; and this one is a cracker! That hits you from the start and never lets go.

As two teenage girls Dina Hale and Alison Mills are attacked at the side of the road as they wait for the fog to lift. But whilst Alison is able to escape, Dina isn't so lucky and as Nate and Josie set out to hunt for Dina's killer and search for Alison they have plenty of questions.

Only none of the answers make any sense, and when they learn Dina was recently tortured and the supervisor at the hotel where both girls worked part time was murdered, they begin to wonder what these teenagers were involved in.

And as the bodies piled up and the search for Alison intensified I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, and honestly I had no idea who was involved even when part of the story clicked I still couldn't work out who was ultimately responsible.

But OMG did I have a great time finding out and with so many twists and moments I didn't see coming. This truly was a compelling and unputdownable read. That I'd 100% recommend to others.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Local Girl Missing’, book 15 in the Detective Josie Quinn series written by Lisa Regan, in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Detective Josie Quinn and Lieutenant Noah Fraley slow their car while driving through fog when a young female runs across their path and disappears into the forest. They leave their car and as they follow a trail of discarded cosmetic items and a phone, Josie sees a man on the ground with his hands around the throat of another young woman. She chases him until he manages to escape but it’s too late for the young woman.

It's so good to catch up with Josie and Noah again in ‘Local Girl Missing’ as they return from their delayed honeymoon but are plunged into another complicated case before they’ve even got home. This is a gripping thriller with a fast-paced and complex plot combined with drama, suspense and twists and turns that becomes more tense as they realise that the characters aren’t telling the complete truth, leaving it for Josie, Noah and Gretchen to discover the reason why the women were attacked. This isn’t my favourite novel in the series but it’s still gripping and one I’ve enjoyed reading and can recommend.

What do two attacks on teenager girls, an errant husband, a hotel, drugs, and the mob all have in common? It means the honeymoon is over for Noah and Josie. They stumble on a foggy crime scene on their way back from paradise and are plunged into the next huge case.
I love all the detective work and trying to solve the mystery before it’s all revealed.
Denton has big city problems for being such a small community.
I love the growing relationship with Noah and Josie, the tender looks and smiles and his reassurance.
I also like how Josie is letting some of her aloofness crumble and her softer side shows up more.
You don’t want to miss this next adventure!

Book 15 in the Josie Quinn series, firstly if you've not read books 1 to 14 do so immediately this is one of my favourite American crime series and once again I wasn't let down by an amazing book.

Josie and Noah are returning from their long awaited honeymoon when they hear a scream and see a girl running into the woods, followed by a man. They make chase and find one girl dead, the other missing and what seems like a regular family man at the heart of this disaster. The problem is the one girl is missing and they have no idea what is going on, it's clearly bigger than they originally thought it was but how does a hotel, two teenagers and this family man all tied together? Josie won't stop until she finds out and of course that puts her in danger but why?

I loved this book honestly i love the entire series. I always love how much Josie throws herself into a case and this one is no different. This is what makes the series so good, you get to investigate along side Josie plus for5 once I had zero idea what was going on. I felt like Josie as a character is growing and after 15 books I still want 15 more, I could honestly follow her story for ever. One thing that was noticeable in this edition was the fact we focused more on Josie and her investigation with minimal input from the usual side characters which was a shame because I love them all especially Gretchen and Trinity, plus I really miss her gran she had some one liners I lived for. But it was nice to have some Josie time.

We also had another POV from someone who is involved in the crime, it's clear they have had links to the criminal underworld from a young age. I really enjoyed those chapters as well, getting a really good in depth look into the background of the perpetrator is always a plus for me. I was quite drawn into their story and I felt very connected to them, so when it is revealed who and why lets just say I got it.

The prose as usual was fantastic, I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I had to stop it half way through to read a book for book club and I was just itching to get straight back to it, I ended up doing an all nightery so I could finish it. What Lisa Regan does so well is not over explain points in the investigation, so often I read the same little things over and over again. Lets be honest 15 books in we know and I am so happy that Regan takes this on board. The book was full of twists and turns from start to finish, we even get to see Needle again (it has been a while). The way that Joise's past is intertwined, if only briefly, really helps bring some story lines full circle.

All in all I totally recommend not only this instalment but the entire series I promise you won't be let down, from the beginning I didn't know who to trust or what was going on. I honestly think I suspected everyone of something, it was definitely one of those trust no one and no narrative. Yes it was as intense as some of the others in the series but it was written extremely well and i honestly found it hard to put down and it's left me on edge waiting for book 16! I honestly love this series and this book, twists here there and everywhere. I rate this a 4/5 stars. If you enjoy books by DK Hood, Jennifer Chase or B.R Spangler then you will love this!

Thank you to Lisa Regan, Bookouture and Netgalley for the free digital ARC in exchange for my fair and honest opinions,

Bonus star alert. One of my favourite authors does it again. This is one of my Josie Quinn faves. The characters are like family. I absolute adore this series. Fast paced, heart racing, gut churning and page turning.
Lisa Regan always combines a fantastic plot with beloved characters and manages to make every twist and turn as suspenseful as possible. These books feel like coming home… but with a nightmare thrown in for good measure.
Five stars for this rollercoaster ride

Lisa Regan continues to push Josie Quinn in Local Girl Missing... each novel is even stronger than the one before - and that's saying something to Ms. Regan's talent. Coming home in a dense fog from their put-off honeymoon, Josie and Noah have a young girl dash in front of their vehicle -- being chased by a very angry man. They chase after the two, but not before the young woman is dead -- and both the angry man and the girls' friend are no where to be found. Buckle up, as the reader will be going for quite a ride with Josie and Noah. Ms. Regan has one of the best supporting casts of characters with Noah, the kinder-and-gentler Chief, and Trinity... just to name a few. She balances their work with the amazing writing for Josie Quinn. Absolutely one of my hands-down favorite series of books! Thank you to Bookouture for an advanced reader copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.

Josie and Noah are returning from their honeymoon when a girl runs across the road in front of them on a foggy morning. They pull over to offer help, but the girl is gone. However, they find another young girl being attacked and rush to her aid. Josie chases the attacker while Noah tries to help the girl. The girl dies and the attacker gets away, but his car is left behind, so they are able to identify the man. The hunt begins to find the missing girl, the man, the motive.

Twists, turns, secrets revealed, surprises, suspense, and so much more going on!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Returned from holiday, now they need another!🚨

Another exciting and unpredictable story from the Detective Josie Quinn series set in central Pennsylvania that had me puzzling right up until the climax. The flashbacks interspersed through the main story reveal a girl with major trauma as a witness to violence from a young age. They had me wondering how she connected with Josie Quinn's investigation, but it all becomes crystal clear at the end. In the interim, the main story starts with a dark, foggy night of horror and we had murder, chases, missing persons, home invasions, so many visits to the hospital that it felt like a second home. And Josie and her husband just back from their delayed honeymoon in the Caribbean and not even given a chance to take a breath and unpack before the trouble starts piling up.

An excellent plot, good action scenes, serpentine trails to follow and a small helping of personal time for lead Josie. Don't know how she sandwiched her visit with her twin sister in!

One caveat. The cover has absolutely nothing to do with the story. When I saw it, it did speak Lisa Regan/Josie Quinn murder mystery to me but it's all wrong for this plot.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

Another great addition to the Josie Quinn series! Lisa Regan is a fantastic writing machine who seems to spit out great writing to the left and to the right. How is this possible?

Josie and Noah are driving and they end up seeing something despicable. A man kills a teenage girl, another girl disappears. The man ends up escaping, and the chase for truth starts. So many people are lying and hiding the truth from the police. Slowly the truth unfolds, and it turns out to be a twisty and nasty story that the two teenage girls got involved in.

Great read, excellent writing, must-read book, as well as must-read series!

Fantastic thriller that had me guessing til the end. Brilliant characterisation, fast paced and superbly written. Very reminiscent of D.K.HOOD Kane and Alton series, with a similarly feisty, intelligent female sheriff.

Local Girl Missing - Lisa Regan

Josie Quinn & Noah Fraley are just returning home from their honeymoon, driving along a country road on a foggy Pennsylvania morning when they hear screaming – then the wisp of what appears to be a young woman rushes across the road in front of them. Josie quickly pulls off the road as she and Noah begin searching for her. They find an empty car, door open, then discover a woman being choked by a man. As Josie cries out to stop the assault, she tackles the man before he breaks free and takes off running, a look of horror on his face. As Noah tends to the woman, Jose takes off after the assailant, catching up to him just before he leaps off a cliff into the river below.

As she returns to the roadside, she finds Noah doing CPR, and knows that the young woman is gone. A quick look at the abandoned car and its contents spilled over the roadway along with the license plate helps them to identify the deceased. A good look at the vehicle interior makes them realize there was another female passenger, but a search of the surrounding woods is fruitless. The assailant is quickly identified as well by his car, also found nearby.

Visits to the girls’ parents yield little clue to what might have happened. They were reportedly close friends, both working at a local hotel as part of the catering team. None of them recognize a picture of the girls’ assailant. But one parent does tell the detectives that a couple of weeks ago, his home had been ransacked from top to bottom, yet nothing was stolen. The autopsy on the dead teen reveals signs of torture… A visit to the killer’s home brings even more questions – his wife convinced he’s at work, horrified by the accusations being made. A lifelong knowledge of the Denton woods helps the team to locate the hideout of the killer, but he is frightened – of something – and refuses to utter a word.

As Josie and her team work to put the seemingly random pieces of the puzzle together, there seems to be one common denominator – the hotel – but what did two teens do to draw the ire of a local businessman? And what are they all so afraid of?

As will all Josie Quinn books, Lisa Regan takes us on a wild ride full of action, suspense and numerous twists and turns that will have you scratching your head and reading well into the night! Any guess I had as to which way the storyline was headed was dead wrong, and just when you think you’ve reached the end…nope, not yet…

Incidentally, I was also saddened to learn of the death of the Ms. Regan’s father in her Acknowledgements, and now fully understand the pervasive sadness that had persisted through the last couple of novels after Lisette’s death.

I received this book as an Advance Reader Copy from Netgalley & Bookouture in exchange for an objective review. Do you love to read?? Visit netgalley.com and start reviewing books today!!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Local Girl Missing, the fifteenth novel to feature Detective Josie Quinn, set in the fictional town of Denton, Pennsylvania.

Josie and her husband, Lieutenant Noah Fraley, find the body of a teenager, quickly identified as Dina Hale, on a remote mountain road, but they also find a handbag belonging to Dina’s friend and fellow waitress at a local hotel, Alison Mills. The police department immediately mounts a search for Alison, but she seems to have disappeared. Unfortunately Dina is not the last to die and it appears that someone is searching for something, the who and what being known unknowns.

I thoroughly enjoyed Local Girl Missing, which is an event filled read with several unexpected twists and turns. I liked that the author deviated from the standard murder hunt, by introducing some unexpected twists, for example the identity of Dina’s killer is never in doubt, but that’s a sideshow in a much bigger picture.

I don’t exactly know how to describe the plot in simple terms, because it widens out from a murder and a hunt for a missing girl into something much bigger and darker with unknown players and agendas coming into play. I guessed some of it just before Josie and the team, but mostly I had no idea and the narrative didn’t help. Josie’s point of view is intercut with that of young girl known as (sweet)Pea and her unconventional upbringing. Who/why are the questions that spring to mind, but the reader will have to wait for answers. I read it in one sitting, desperate for these answers. The journey to them is no hardship with plenty of action, tension and excitement and the usual serendipitous uncovering of information. It’s highly entertaining.

Josie seems to be finally at peace with herself. She’s happy and seems to have gained some wisdom from all her past travails. I like this new, improved version who has time to devote to both her investigation and her relationship.

Local Girl Missing is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.
