Thank you to Netgally, the publishers, and Melinda Leigh

When I requested this book I was unaware that it was apart of a series, one that requires you to read the previous books for this one to make sense. I am unable to read all the previous books along with this one before the publish date. Therefore, I will rate this a fair 3/5 stars and will adjust the rating and review when I am able to read all the books in the series along with this one.

"Lie to Her" by Melinda Leigh is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep readers on the edge of their seats as they unravel the secrets and lies at the heart of the story.

Another great book in a great series! It had mystery, suspense, action and some romance thrown into the mix. The characters are well written and I love getting to see the personal side of their lives during the investigation. Could be read as a standalone but to really enjoy the characters I would recommend starting with book 1. The whole series is definitely worth the read.

This is a fast paced book with the perfect amount of suspense. The characters are relatable and I loved all the twists and turns. It kept me guessing until the very end.

A good read, as I've come to expect from the author. Lots of twists and turns so you never know what's coming next.

I have read several books in the Bree Taggert series and have typically enjoyed them. However, this was one I did not enjoy. It was way too predictable. And the relationship between Bree and Matt was horrible. The way she treated him was deplorable. Luckily, I decided to give this series another go and the 7th book is much better. So, I’ll just say this one was an outlier and did not meet the standard that Melinda Leigh usually delivers. The “whodunit” was a last-minute reveal and that helped redeem the book a little bit in my opinion.

As is normal for me I selected a book that is part of a series I had not read before, so I needed to read 5 books before this one. I absolutely love the character development over the 6 books, using Taggarts entire awful early story as the backdrop to her character and subsequent storyline is making for a very interesting character.
The build up of the supporting characters stories, help the stories flow very well I want too see what happens with Dana definitely a story waiting to be told. Highly recommended

I loved this story of Bree and Matt. The gripping mystery and non stop tempo were perfect. Melinda Leigh brings the cold bleak atmosphere taking you into the cold. This 6th book in the series had some great twists and turns, and I'm now tracking down all the previous stories to catch up!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC

Lie to Her is the 6th book in the Bree Taggert series and it was another winner for me. Sheriff Bree Taggert and her partner criminal investigator, Matt Flynn answer a call where a man is found dead in his yard. He is bound, has plastic wrap around his head, thus smothering him and the word "Liar" has been carved in his forehead. His body was found by a woman who was invited for dinner, their third date after meeting on a dating app. He has said he was a digital media marketer, but it is quickly revealed that is a lie. Zeroing in on his dating profiles and apps, the team try to find out who might be holding a grudge. The next day, someone else is killed in the same way. Do they have a serial killer on their hands? As they investigate, they find out that many of their suspects are lying and they are running out of time.

This was another gripping, twisty Bree Taggert story. The book opens with the murder of a man in his own home. It pulled me in right away. The first victim was a scammer who lied about his profession and romanced the women he met, then once getting what he wanted, he dumped them with no warning. He was also a breeder of reptiles, especially snakes. Eww, gross. I will say this fact comes in to play later in the story and scared the bejesus out of me. As with many of Melinda Leigh's books, we get the killer's POV, but don't know who it is until late in the story. This one was out for revenge and when it becomes apparent that either Bree or someone she cares about is in danger, I wanted to speed up the audio to get to the conclusion quicker (I didn't because I wanted to understand the story, no chipmunks for me). I did figure out a couple of things before the reveal, but it didn't diminish my enjoyment or the thrilling conclusion to this one. I continue to love Bree, her family and friends. I love the way they support one another, are there when needed and almost read each other's minds. As they develop more of a family unit, it is great to see how they accept Matt as part of the family and I love all the four legged family members and what they add to the family and story. This is a romantic suspense, crime thriller, family drama book that I highly recommend, better yet, start at the beginning and enjoy the whole series.

Lie To Her – Melinda Leigh

This newest novel opens with the first person narration of a killer going after some prey – Spencer is a liar and a cheat, and is about to pay the ultimate price for his behavior – and it will not be an easy death.

Sheriff Bree Taggert is home planning on a movie night with her niece and nephew when the call comes in from dispatch. The body of a homeowner, Spencer Laforge, has just been discovered by his dinner date, and with plastic sheeting found wrapped around the victim’s head, it’s clear that this was not a natural death. As Bree talks to woman who found him, she learns that they had met via a dating app, and that this was their third meeting – and her first time visiting his home. As the investigation commences, including a very stressful notification of Spencer’s brother, Jasper. Bree learns that Spencer was known to move from woman to woman via a dating app geared towards the tech field. A visit to his place of employment also reveals that he had a female stalker of sorts – an individual who is now high on Bree’s potential suspect list.

An interview with the would be stalker, a young woman named Farah, initially yields no significant clues. She reports similar behavior – a few dates, some intimacy and then being dumped by Spencer. She also claims do have an alibi for the night in questions – she was in the company of a friend.

As the team continues to interview potential suspects and interview women who had been involved with the victim, a second killing takes place – but a sinister surprise awaits the team at this scene, with Bree narrowly missing injury. Is this a blatant clue – or an attempt to misdirect the team?

As the situation escalates, Bree & Matt desperately try to identify the killer - meanwhile the killer has set sights on the next victim – and it is someone very close to Bree…

I absolutely love this series! I love the characters, I love the suspense, I love the intrigue! Great book! Don’t sit down till you have the time to read it through – this one was impossible to put down!!

I have loved this series so much and this definitely did not disappoint. Melinda Leigh mixes dark crime thriller and small town family relationships seamlessly. This is a dark, fast paced that had me hooked instantly. The constant twists had me doubting everything we were told, i was on the edge of my seat waiting for a conclusion.

I have enjoyed the Bree Taggert series and this latest novel did not change that. I sped through the first 70% of the book, but then it slowed considerably. As the evidence came together, it seems as though the book completely slowed pace. Some aspects were obvious from the beginning, like the fact that Bree's brother Adam would be in trouble at some point. As Bree and her staff follow the evidence, it becomes obvious who the killer was, but Bree needed to get there. The relationship between Matt and Bree seemed to cool in this novel, which is not in line with the other novels. This makes me question if this relationship is going to last. The characters, besides the killer, are likable.

I will continue to look forward to the Bree Taggert series.

I want to thank Netgalley and Montlake for an ARC of this book.

Lie to Her is the 6th book in Melinda Leigh 's Bree Taggert series. I was impressed by her previous book Dead Against Her and the circumstances of the story. I particularly liked the way the author put Bree Taggert in a complicated place , both mentally and investigatively, and made her come out of it in a much better place.

This story starts off a couple of months after the events of the previous book with a killer targeting men from dating sites, particularly those that are very reprehensible. All evidences and explanations point to a scorn l scorned woman to be the killer, particularly one who seems to harbour a grudge against both the victims. In her efforts to find the killer, Taggert must overcome many of the hang-ups she still holds owing to the previous experiences. How she manages to find the culprit and catch makes the rest of the story.

I liked this book a lot. To an extent, the identity of the killer was quite unexpected and Iwas completely hooked into the story till it was revealed. I also loved to see how much Taggert has progressed; her relationship with the Investigator Matt was lovely to read. However, I felt the last set of events were drawn out unnecessarily and so, I lost some interest by then. Nevertheless, this was still a very interesting story with very good character development.

I would definitely recommend this book to people who love to read a solid police procedural with deep characters and lovely romance.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this ARC; all the opinions expressed here are completely mine.

Another great mystery in the series, Lie to Her is a page-turning thriller. I loved the serial-killer angle with the modern dating twist. The insight into Bree's personal (and professional) struggles really help build her character and creates a nail-biting twist to the story, and Matt is as swoon-worthy as ever. I love a down and dirty mystery that isn't afraid of a love story, and Melinda Leigh always does a great job with that!

Part of a series featuring Sheriff Bree Taggert and her team. Fast moving story with plenty of twists. Characters are good and work well together, growing as a team.

Sheriff Bree Taggert is back. There's a killer in town and his target is young men. They all have a connection to a dating app, so there's a wide suspect list. If Bree and Matt can't figure out who the killer is fast, the killer's next victim could hit a little too close to home.

This was another good book in the series, and while it probably wasn't my favorite one, it was a good addition to the series. It didn't have me turning the pages quite as fast as the others. Thanks, NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC.

Melinda Leigh's 'Lie To Her' is a gripping thriller that had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The danger of the internet dating scene is vividly portrayed as Bree Taggert, a determined detective, navigates her way through a list of suspects that only grows longer with each turn of the page. As the killer's rage escalates, Leigh ratchets up the tension and delivers a shocking twist that will keep readers guessing until the very end. The personal and deadly warning left for Bree adds an extra layer of danger that had me holding my breath. This book is a must-read for anyone who loves a heart-pounding mystery that keeps you guessing until the last page."
