The Roommate was a dark sinister thriller with a good premise. However, for me it just didn’t reach that depth that I was expecting.
I found Donna and her mother, Addie difficult to connect with. If she had just done her homework a bit more she would have saved herself a lot of trouble. And Joshua was just creepy – not terrifying. Donna should have been more assertive from the beginning. It was her house afterall.
There were surprises at the end that I certainly didn’t see coming, but despite the potential I just felt Donna needed to stand up for herself more. All in all a quick three star read.
