I’m pretty sure when I requested this book it was the whole thing but somehow this is just the first and only chapter I have.

The storyline so far seemed ok, probably may have gotten better over time. As I’ve only read a chapter I don’t think it’s enough to comment on really so I’ve given it 3 stars.

I would like to thank Random House UK, Vintage and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Interpreter’ by Brooke Robinson in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Revelle Lee is an interpreter working in London and going through the process of adopting Elliot. It’s difficult to review ‘The Interpreter’ as I didn’t realise I’d only get the first four chapters but from the sample I have read the story looks very interesting and I’ve been left wanting to find out more about Revelle and her adoption of Elliot. I’ve only given it three stars as I haven’t read enough to give a complete review.

This small excerpt of the upcoming thriller The Interpreter starts us off with a bang and leaves us with plenty of intrigue to mull over. It's difficult to gauge within the few pages offered just how good the book is going to be or how things will develop, but it certainly seems to be a very promising start.

What a start to a story! I am really looking forward to reading the whole book but I’ve knocked it down a star as it is a sample rather than the whole book.

I hadn’t realised that it was only a small sample and the sample wasn’t really enough to review. I’m sure it’s a good story

I am very disappointed that this turned out to be only a sample! This books sounds right up my street. Part court room drama, part looking at the world of adoption and care, it sounds like it will be full of interest and intrigue. The first 4 chapters read well and I would love to read the rest. I have no idea where the book is headed for the short sample but I hope I get to read the rest soon!

It's hard to review this novel in full as I only received a sample, 4 chapters ( didn't realise at the time it was only an extract) Unfortunately I didn't feel it was long enough to give me any indication where the story was going to go.
We meet Revelle who works as an interpreter and who is in the process of adopting a little boy.
The writing style was OK but I'm not sure if I would buy the book on publication

"Thriller" is a genre that promises to keep readers on the edge of their seats, and this definitely delivers. From the very first page, the tension is palpable, and the plot twists and turns in unexpected ways, making it difficult to put the book down. The characters are well-developed and the author does an excellent job of keeping the reader guessing as to who can be trusted and who is hiding something. The pacing is spot-on, with just the right amount of action and suspense to keep the reader engaged. The writing style is gripping and evocative, making it easy to visualise the scenes and feel the emotions of the characters. The author's attention to detail and ability to create a believable world adds to the overall experience of the book. Overall, this is an excellent example of the thriller genre. It's a page-turner that will keep readers guessing until the very end and is sure to satisfy fans of the genre. Highly recommended for anyone who loves a good suspenseful read.

The E-Book could be improved and more user-friendly, such as links to the chapters, no significant gaps between words and a cover for the book would be better. It is very document-like instead of a book. A star has been deducted because of this.

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Too be honest this sampler hasn't made me want to read the book. I thought it would be more interesting but it just didn't grab me. I have loved other books by this author though.

An interesting concept and on the whole a good read although I was lukewarm at best to the main character and didn’t always understand why she did what she did,but a unique premise and a mainly interesting read

Apparently, I got a sample of this book so I cannot really review it properly based on that. Nowhere on the Netgalley listing said it was a sample, which was quite disappointing to find out it was just 4 chapters to read. I cannot say it I might have enjoyed it, I was trying to overlook the use of the word childminder for actual nanny services or the fact that the main character left her child with a totally random stranger. As I work with children, this bothers me in books quite a lot.

I really enjoyed this sample but it’s not nearly enough to give a thorough review on. The characters are interesting but the sole barely scratches the surface on who these people are, and what makes them so. We’ve barely got a hint of what the storyline will be. I’m enjoying the story but I’m disappointed I can’t finish it to give a full and honest review. While I’ve given to 4 stars that’s based on my enjoyment so far and not an endorsement for this book being a 4 star book. It’s way too early to tell.

I found the premise of this book to be exciting ! Abit different and looked forward to reading it. However although I enjoyed the first half it was in parts frustrating with the lack of research and feasibility. This I think kept the from really being able to invest in the second half.

I really enjoyed this sampler fro Brooke Robinson and although it was only a few chapters long, I was captivated by how the story will evolve.

I will definitely purchase the full book when it is released!

I love this extract and I'm very intrigued to find out what happens. I'm eager to know more about her life and how her job comes into it. I'm hooked already!

I'd definitely be interested in reviewing the full manuscript after what I've read here. Robinson sets a tense, anxious scene and introduces our MC in a stressful situation that immediately makes a form of kinship and understanding - but the style definitely hints nothing is as it seems and made me give side eye to a few people that I thought I should definitely keep my eye on. We already delve into themes such as the court system, adoption, class divide - it has the makings of a very interest contemporary thriller.

For a 50 page sampler it certainly entices me to read more of the book. I feel as it’s only a sample it would be unfair to give a full review. But based on what I’ve read it certainty gripping
