My first title from this author and I thoroughyl enjoye dit. I found it easy to read, and hard to put down. Will look forward to the next title.

In "The Secret" by Kevin Lynch, suspense grips tightly as Nicole, a resilient therapist, finds herself ensnared in a chilling web of threats and danger, echoing past traumas. Lynch skillfully weaves a narrative that keeps readers on edge, exploring the depths of fear and resilience in the face of relentless pursuit. With each turn of the page, the tension escalates, making "The Secret" a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the darker corners of the human psyche.
This was a very average book for me. I didn't love the writing style, a little too simplistic for me. And the resolution or the big reveal was a real disappointment.

This book wasn’t a great read. The plot was ok. This is very well written but I didn’t like the plot.
It was a bit of a flop

“‘The Secret’ dives into a spine-tingling story about Nicole, a therapist haunted by a past stalker. Just when life seems to settle, a new client, Allen, stirs up eerie déjà vu.
The book hooks you in with Nicole's struggle, blurring the line between fear and imagination. As the tension mounts, you're glued to Nicole's journey to untangle reality from her growing paranoia.
While the story keeps you on edge, a bit more concise storytelling could've cranked up the thrill. Nevertheless, it's a rollercoaster ride, leading to a nail-biting climax that leaves you gripping the edge of your seat.
Overall, ‘The Secret’ delivers a gripping thriller, though a tighter narrative would've upped the thrill factor. Still, it's a compelling read, taking you on a whirlwind of fear, doubt, and the quest for truth.”

Nicole is a successful therapist in a loving relationship with her partner Pablo, she also has a good relationship with her ex husband with whom they have shared custody of their son Ben.
A few years ago she was stalked by a troubled client and the stressful experience was one of the reasons why her marriage ended.
Nicole now has a new client and strange things are happening, is she been stalked by the same person as before?
A gripping read with a storyline that kept me engaged from the start.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Nicole has recently separated from her husband and has returned to work after a traumatic experience of her client stalking her. However, things have started to take an odd turn ever since, Allen a new client starts consulting with her.
She is being stalked once again and this time, the stalker is determined to get her. Her ex husband and her present boyfriend and perplexed by her behaviour and her ex husband wonders if she is at the brink of a mental breakdown. What is the truth and what is merely imagination? Others might think Nicole is becoming delusional but she knows that isn't the case. As she gets closer to the truth, the danger only gets more intense.
An engaging read, this was a good one but it could've been a tad more crisp. An interesting plot and a great climax!

Full review to come on Goodreads and Amazon. Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for a review copy.

This was a roller coaster read that keeps you guessing what the secret is, and how far Nicole's stalker will go. Thrilling and entertaining throughout.

Nicola is a therapist and having been stalked, she finds herself in a similar situation. Her mentor and boss is not very supportive.
I found this book to be quite disjointed, it didn’t flow and the ending was rushed.
I would rate this book 2 stars.

This is a new to me author and I have to say I am looking forward to reading more by this author! I loved this book

Really good read. Slow at first but picks up. Definitely a page turner for me and kept me interested in the reading. Definitely recommend

Nicole's life is finally in a good place after being the victim of a stalker and it causing the end of her first marriage. She has a new partner named Pablo and gets along with her ex-husband whom she shares custody of their son Ben with. She is a successful therapist as well. She gets a new client and soon it seems like the problems of her past have returned. The first half of the book is honestly a bit slow but the second half definitely makes up for that. Overall it was a great quick read and I enjoyed it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

This was a quick and engaging read, but I didn't love the resolution. It ultimately felt unsatisfying, even though the book kind of telegraphed the reveal from the beginning.

I thought I had The Secret by Kevin Lynch all figured out but boy was I wrong! Being a therapist can be so rewarding to help someone else get through pain or depression. But what happens when a client starts to feel threatening to you and maybe even your family? And what do you do if this has happened before? There are some great twists in this book that will make it impossible to put down!

A good read
Well written
And will keep you gripped
You will not guess who the stalker is
Thanks NetGalley

The Secret by Kevin Lynch was a good psychological thriller. It revolves around a psychiatrist who starts having weird things happening around her. As they start to get more frightening, she has to figure out who it is as her life is now in danger.
I did enjoy this book. I liked most of the characters, although there were two I truly disliked (this was the point after all). However, I felt that the actions of these two characters were a bit past the believable. I would have enjoyed this book a lot more if these characters were more subtle.
I would still recommend this to readers who love psychological thrillers as it was a really good read!

A slow burn too start but once it takes off wow it doesn't stop. A well written physcological thriller with believeable characters. I still have whiplash from the ride. Thank you netgalley and inkubator for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

The characters each have these little pieces that make them such believable characters! This fabulous summer read for those who enjoy psychological thrillers.

Nicole is a successful therapist in a loving relationship with her partner, Pablo, and has a good relationship with her ex-husband, Daniel, with whom she shares custody of their son, Ben. But a couple of years ago, she was stalked by a client, Gary, and now, her new client, Alan, stirs things up. Is the trauma influencing her fear, of is she right to be afraid?
This psychological thriller had a great premise, but it fell a bit flat, lacks twists and goes around in circles. The writing was flat, without descriptions, a weird pacing, mechanical dialogues and no suspense or tension. I couldn't relate to the characters, who didn't seem to act logically. I kept reading because I still wanted to know who was the new stalker. It was a quick read and easy to follow.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a fast paced, twisty psycholigical thriller with a well thought out plot and well defined characters. Certainly a must read for anyone who loves to be caught off guard!
