A thriller on audio is always fun and even better when the narration is so good! The story got off to a strong start and held ground for most of the way but I felt the end to be a little rushed. Regardless, this should appeal to readers who enjoy a domestic thriller and a cast of potential suspects thrown in along the way. The story is also split between timelines and the characters while well developed are just truly unsettling, with the exception of Mason. I am not sure the end will sync with all readers but I would definitely recommend it as a good twisty thriller.

Liar Liar has to be one of the most accurate titles for a book that I’ve seen in a long time. Everything, from start to finish, is a lie. Every single character seems to be a liar, or at least someone who hides the truth... I loved it! Every chapter just gives you something different, another twist to the story and another link to what might have happened in the past.

Narrated by Tanya Eby, I listened to Liar Liar as an audiobook and she really drew me into the character’s lives, lies and all.

Full of suspense and emotion, Liar Liar will have you clutching the edge of your seat as you dive into the rabbit hole that is Tess’s life. I was out walking with my dog and listening to the final few chapters of this when for me, there was a real WATF moment and I actually said it out loud - it’s a good thing no one was around to hear me!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen to and review a copy of Liar Liar by L.G. Davis.

This book was thrilling right from beginning to the very last page! It was a wonderfully woven story which keeps you guessing by using a dual timeline and a character who keeps hinting at a secret.

I loved as each new chapter uncovered more of the truth, and i also thoroughly loved the last little twist right at the end.

A nail biter that is certainly worth your time.

The narration was good with the narrator having a voice perfectly suited to the tense moments in the story.

Liar Liar by L.G. Davis Narrated by: Tanya Eby was an excellent book However, sorry to say the Narrator did not do it for me. I had to stop listening to the audiobook on the Second Chapter and I ended up reading my ebook which was brilliant with great twists and turns throughout. Oliver and Tess are the main characters within this latest book Liar Liar. They have a perfect marriage and even their neighbours are jealous of them. They are so in love!

They have adopted a son called Mason, who sadly had an accident which left him paralysed, and he is in a wheelchair. Mason is very close to his adoptive mother and Tess just wants to be a good mum to him. Tess finds Texts from another woman on her husbands phone! which has her shocked She thought everything was perfect between them! but, are they?

Tess has to save her marriage for the sake of Mason she decides to fake a pregnancy to try and get him to stay with her. WoW!!! How can she carry out this fake pregnancy?

Someone is going to get hurt! This book was so good shame about the audiobook.

Big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

Loved this book! I loved how the storyline flipped between then and now. The suspense created by the narrators was excellent and I was always keen to continue listening. I was disappointed when I finished this audiobook!

This is a great psychological thriller, which I really enjoyed, especially the audiobook narration.

Tess and Oliver are the main characters of the story, and they have an adopted son together called Mason. Mason had an accident which left him paralysed, so he is in a wheelchair. Mason is close to Tess, and she does all she can to be a good Mum to him. Tess finds texts from another woman on Oliver's phone, and she is shocked. She decides to fake a pregnancy to try and get him to stay with her. It turns out that Oliver's brother Henry was Tess' previous employer, when she was a Nanny to Mason.

There are so many twists and turns in this book, as well as secrets and lies. What secret does Oliver hold? Are Tess and Mason safe? You will have to read the book to find out! This book will appeal to anyone who loves domestic thrillers, secrets and mysteries. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to the author, narrator, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture and L.G Davis for an ARC in return for honest review.

Liar Liar was a great audio book. This is the first by L.G Davis that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was not sure what to expect with this book but I was not expecting to spend my whole day listening to it.
I couldn't stop, I was desperate to find out what was going to happen.

It's dark, thrilling and very intense.
Thoroughly enjoyed.

This was an interesting, easy listen, although I found it a bit predictable. Was still very enjoyable, so thanks for giving me the chance to listen to this ARC!

With amazing well crafted characters this book was great, really good pace and had me guessing till the end! It’s disturbing to see all the power plays come into action. With twist at every turn this is a book I would recommend. The narration was also great.

An enjoyable easy listen, I was kept guessing by the storyline all the way through. I found it hard to warm to the characters.

Better than average thriller with lots of twists and turns which did confuse me with the characters at times but all was revealed in the end
Something happened in the past and can Tess really trust Oliver to look after her or are her and her son Mason as safe as she thought ?
That is the trouble with secrets and lies the truth always outs in the end

I really quite enjoyed listening to this audiobook and as I was in my car a lot over a couple of days, was able to finish it in pretty quick time.

The plot is captivating and although it is a tad unbelievable, it's like one of those cheesy chat shows that you can't stop watching and you find yourself shouting at the tv! Well, all I can say is that it's a good job I was in my car and not on a train whilst listening to this otherwise I would have got some very strange looks!

The characters are well developed - I actually didn't like any of them very much apart from Mason, however, for this book, I'm not sure it mattered to me. The pace was quick and it's full of tension from start to finish and the gradual reveal of the "unspeakable secret" added to this.

The narrator was good however, there were times when her voice became a little stilted and robotic which was a little annoying and disappointing.

Overall, I think this works really well as an audiobook and if you like delving into the secrets and lies of a very dysfunctional family, I would definitely recommend it.

Thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for enabling me to listen to Liar Liar and to share my thoughts.

A really enjoyable read, if a little bit predictable in places and as a result the ending was a bit disappointing. However would still recommend

Really enjoyed this full of twists and well written I’d actually like a sequel . Only complaint I have is I found the narration a bit robotic at times.

3,5 stars rounded up.

I really liked both the narration and the plot of this story. I wasn't sure who to believe and what exactly had happened, so I had to keep listening.

Unfortunately the only character that I really liked was Mason, a child. I think if I had liked the woman telling the story more this would definitely have been a 4 star read or listen. She just wasn't my type of person, but maybe she wasn't meant to be... it just helps me like a book more if I can relate or at least understand the main character.

There are twists and turns in this story, especially towards the end. If you normally enjoy a good psychological thriller where you are not sure who is the bad person and who has been lying this might be perfect for you!

Liar Liar by L. G. DavisNarrated by Tanya Eby.
My husband and I are the dream couple: deeply in love, the envy of all our friends. He surprises me with roses and a beautiful diamond ring, and I prepare picnics for us to enjoy in the sunshine with our adorable son. It’s gestures like this that keep our romance alive.
I did like listening to this audio book. A little slow. But I did like how it ended. 4*.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Liar Liar' by L.G Davis.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for L.G Davis, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 22nd July 2022.

This is the first book I have read by this author.

I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching beautiful cover and intriguing sounding synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that 'Anyone who loves Gone Girl, The Girl on the Train and Behind Closed Doors will be utterly gripped.' I am a huge fan of 'Gone Girl' so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue, 45 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in the USA 🇺🇸.

This book is written in third person perspective and main protagonist is Teas. The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them.

This book is extremely well written with vivid descriptions that really set the scene and kept me on the edge of my seat. The cover and synopsis suited the storyline perfectly.

OMG!!! MIND ABSOLUTELY BLOWN!!!!

Love, LOVE, LOVED this absolute page turner!! It may be the first book I have read by L.G Davis but I can promise you it won't be the last!!! As soon as I've written this up I'm off to add all her books to my wishlist. The storyline is absolutely ram packed with mystery, deceit, secrets, lies, romance, tension, suspense and OMG the twists just kept on coming again and again!!! Just when I thought everything that could happen had happened BOOM there was another shocker around the corner. Every time I kept telling myself one more chapter the one I was in ended at a point where there was no way I could stop reading so I absolutely devoured it in one sitting!! I WAS absolutely blown away and considering I read approximately 30 books a month that is certainly no easy feat so a HUGE congratulations on that L. G . I really could not recommend this book any more. If you are looking for something unique, filled with suspense and that will blow your mind then this is definitely the book for you!!

It is set over/includes multiple time lines. When books show what has happened in the past and what is happening in the present I find it really helps the reader (if it is well done) understand why things are happening and what has lead to the present activities and decisions. It also shows the bigger picture.

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT READING THIS UNTIL YOU HAVE CLEARED YOUR SCHEDULES AS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN!!!

I wasn't just 100% invested in the storyline but also in the characters. The every one of the characters were well defined, realistic and strong. Unfortunately I am not going to be able to say much at all about them as I don't want to run the risk of giving anything away. I will however say that my heart completely went out to Mason who didn't deserve any of the insults or abuse that he got, some of the things that his so called family said about him was sickening and my heart really went out to him. Needless to say they all worked perfectly together to make this page turner as amazing as it is!!!

A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to L.G Davis on what promises to be a massive best seller!!! I WAS absolutely shocked by so many events but OMG what was said by a certain person at a certain event was absolutely shocking!!! I can't say anything else but when you've read it you'll know!!! Welcome to my favourite author list L.G and here's to your next explosive success 🥂!!!

Overall an absolutely addictive, mind blowing page turner that will keep you up with a racing heart until you've finished!!!

Genres covered in this book include Thriller, Psychological Fiction, Suspense, Thriller, Domestic Fiction, Psychological Thriller, Domestic Thriller and Mystery amongst others.

I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of 'Gone Girl', 'The Girl on the Train', 'Behind Closed Doors' and anyone looking for an explosive thriller that will just blow your mind!!!

302 pages.

This book is just £1.99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon or free on kindle unlimited (at time of review) which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5 /5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

The main character discovers her husband is keeping secrets. She will have to come up with a plan to live with them, since he is keeping a very big secret of hers. 🧐

This is a weird on to review. 🤔
I absolutely hated every character in this book, so I did not want them to succeed, or have a happy ending or anything. 😅
They were all shitty and made stupid decisions, and there have to be consequences.

I am also not the biggest fan of every chapter ending on a 'dun dun duuun' note, if you keep us in the dark for so long. 😕
There is all this talk about a "big secret", but then just start telling me bits and pieces please, instead of just referencing the "big secret" dozens of times. 😬

On the other hand I likes the twists and turns, and I did not see any of them coming. 😃
There were even twists upon twists that I did not know I needed. 🤪

So... I sort of liked it? 😄
I don't regret reading it, and that is a positive view in my book. 😁
