As someone who has worked in criminal law, I could really appreciate this book. I found myself chucking all the time and resonating with the book quite a lot
The writer nailed it. A great book

As with all books of this nature, Dirty Briefs goes that extra mile to prove that truth really can be stranger than fiction, and funnier than you think.

I'm no expert on the criminal justice system and have no idea what goes on in the mysterious world of criminal defence however, as this book is written by someone who knows the system well it soon becomes a rather ironic account of what goes on behind the scenes with a criminal defence barrister. Well written, with entertaining anecdotes, the book made me smile with stories about incidents I never expected to find amusing.

At just over two hundred pages this comes in as a quick read which makes it the perfect sort of book to settle down with on a rainy afternoon. If you have an interest in the law and want to know more about some irreverent behind the scenes shenanigans then Dirty Briefs might be just your cup of tea.

A great insight into the workings of a barrister. Great behind the scenes memoir that has stories that seem so unreal you have to remind yourself it’s non fiction.

Dirty Briefs by Dave Fendem and I loved this book. I found this so funny and very entertaining. I enjoyed reading this book and it had me lol in several parts of this book. I had funny looks from my Hubby!!!! (He thought I was going mad!!!) The English legal justice system has a lots to answer for!!! Humorous insight into life as a defence barrister in UK!

I would recommend this book

This is a phenomenal book and a must read all, especially with the recently concluded bar strike. Written with humour but the undercurrent of truth this book is a wonderful insight into the profession.

As an avid reader of The Secret Barrister series, this became a must-read for me. In previous reviews, I have gone into detail my background in going to law school, with a dream of becoming a criminal barrister making these types of books a personal interest.

This book differs significantly from The Secret Barrister series in the tone is somewhat more 'blunt'; however, the honesty of all accounts remains. In addition, there are many more 'what the h...' moments which make you question the absurdity of our legal system and the madness of the Great British public.

A delightful read, one which I would recommend, and I hope there is a second series to.

An insight into the unglamorous side of the legal profession focusing on the crown and magistrate courts. This book was an eye-opener and it will not appeal to everyone. The author is not overly likeable and I found him a bit immature especially when proudly going on about his sexual conquests. He openly shares his dislike of the hierarchical old school tie nature of the legal profession and he seems to not respect anyone which sometimes is not surprising after reading his stories. This book is best read in chunks, a couple of anecdotes at a time.

This is my favorite type of book a humorous tale with so many old school secrets that the author must remain anonymous and it certainly lives up to the hype. The beginnings of the authors life isn’t your typical barrister beginnings he wasn’t born with a silver spoon and privilege wasn’t in his vocabulary but he worked hard and became a lawyer in the UK only to find out things he probably wish he had it. This is a very funny book and as I said I love books like this and this one certainly lived up to my expectations. This is certainly a book I will read again in the future as it has so many lol moments and some of the stories are not even believable but I believe them as truth is stranger than fiction. I received this book from NetGalleyShelf the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

This is very good and quite funny. As an American, I probably have a different perspective that those in UK, but I still found this to be very fun.

Thanks very much for the free review copy for review!!

I was very interested in digging into this book because I have a background in the legal profession, sadly not in the same country as this author. I did struggle with it despite my special interest because I ultimately found it too immature for me. All the insights that were interesting just fell flat for me. But I’m sure this will be up someone else’s alley!

The dry sarcastic humour in this book is fantastic. I completely loved every page and highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys witty non-fiction like Adam Kay's This Is Going To Hurt.

A quick and easy read with some genuinely funny tales about a career in law. Took a little while for me to get into this book but I was really glad I stuck it out

My thanks to NetGalley and Ad Lib Publishers for a copy of “Dirty Briefs” for an honest review.

I quite enjoyed this amusing, informative and eye opening book dealing with the work of this barrister.
I tended to read it in chunks at a time , which seemed to suit the style of the book.
“Anonymous “ doesn’t come across as someone very likeable but I suppose you have to be like that to do the job they do !

I think I was expecting more from this book. It was a good read but I would have preferred more. It’s not one I would highly recommend.

This was a book to dip in & out of. Some Funny stories & some hard to comprehend. Not as good/funny as I thought it might be but definitely makes you realise that no job is as great as it might look like to.outsiders

I just could not get into this one, to be fair I don't really like the whole back story. I look forward to hearing real stories about different careers. I don't want to read about politics etc.

I enjoy reading books about the lives of people working in various professions. Being a defense lawyer makes for a lot of funny stories. Most of the stories in this book a funny but there some cringe-worthy parts.
