Another fantastic book from Portia MacIntosh - I don’t know how she does it time and time again but she does!

Dani has split up with her boyfriend who just so happens to also be her boss - talk about awkward! She decides she needs a change and thinks it may be for the best if she returns home to her parents house for Christmas - the only problem being she doesn’t tell them and they go off on holiday! She doesn’t want people thinking she is a saddo and spins a yarn that she knows her parents are on holiday and had their permission to through a party. Only thing is she doesn’t know that many people and her frenemy Eleanor would love it if it all went to pot. Through in a fake boyfriend, a teenage crush and old friends to the mix and it’s a great story!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

There are few authors where I buy a book and know that it will be a hit. Portia MacIntosh is such an author for me. I know that if I pick up one of her books, there will be banter, there will be butterflies and there will be an awkward MC with a sweet heart and a fierce attitude and I love that.

Single All The Way was no different. We have elements of fake dating, small town romance and enemies to lovers and since those are three of my favourite tropes, I knew up front that this would be a hit for me. And it was! It was funny and sweet and made me swoon. Bonus points for it being a Christmas novel because that makes it extra special. I absolutely loved the characters, the setting (we love an island with fierce Christmas light competitions) and the premise of this book. Which basically is Dani, our lovable MC, pretending to throw a party at her parent's house on an island in north England, because she can't admit to her parent's neighbors that she didn't know they went on holiday over the Christmas period and that she was thus alone. I mean. If that isn't relatable, I ask you: what is?

I recommend this book with all of my heart, especially if you're looking for cozy reads for your Holiday TBR.

Thank you Netgalley and to the publisher for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review. I loved this book it very much reminded me of a Hallmark movie. It was the perfect holiday love story.. I loved the small town vibes. I very much idenfied with Dani because I feel the same way very much unseen. I enjoyed reading about her finding love and all the challenges she faced a long the way. This is perfect if you like a cute Christmas love story I would highly recommend.

A nice little Christmas rom-com for the festive season. There were a few minor issues, but overall it wasn't bad. It's quite easy to read at this time of year, and will pick it up again during the Holidays.

Christmas in the summer (so normally i only read Christmas themed books in Dec but really why not now)
Such a cute book
So many things going on in this book and poor Dani but she is a trooper, it all keeps you reading and not wanting to stop just to see what is gonna happen next
The Christmas theme was soo much fun and the neighbour 'light' rival is awesome and gave me feels to my younger years
Rex and Dani are amazing characters, so much chemistry and growing feelings
I fell in love with them sooo much
Oh and Rex is awesome!
Ok so I am a massive fan of Portia MacIntosh, in my opinion, she doesn't write a bad book havent read one yet)

Thankful for being able to get this book's ARC from NetGalley. My above comments and opinions are my own and honest.

I've said it probably a million times, but I do love a good Christmas book! I'm normally a seasonal reader and wasn't sure about reading a holiday book in August, but I'm so glad I did! This was so fun and cute! I loved the characters and their relationship. I'll admit, initially I wasn't sure I would like this - it starts out with the main character getting dumped by her boyfriend, who is her boss, who then demotes her at work. Ladies, this is workplace sexual harassment that technically qualifies as sexual assault because the perpetrator holds a position of power over the victim (and he used that position of power to demote her for reasons related to their relationship). I found myself pretty angry that this important issue wasn't dealt with a bit more seriously (I wanted Dani to be more angry and to take a stand for herself and other women and for her ex-boyfriend to not get away with this crime - TW: he does get away with it and there are no repercussions to this extremely serious offense that so many women experience today). So anyway, moving on, it took me a bit of time to warm back up to this story after that. Once I was able to put that aspect aside, the remainder of the book was excellent and I loved it. I'm giving it 4 stars. It was really hard for me to rate because of the above issue - which is important to me (I'm a victim of sexual assault in the workplace). There's a small, very bitter part of me that wants to give this a negative review because of that. However, other than that, I did really enjoy this book. So I'm rating it without that issue in consideration. I just want readers to be aware of that significant TW.

I really loved this book for one simple reason and that was I was constantly guessing how I thought the book would go when it comes to Dani our main character.

I love the character growth we see in Dani, at the start I didn't particularly like her but by the ending I was rooting for her and loved her personality.

Personally I wish the book had come out late November/early December as I didn't get the Christmas vibes and I felt that would have made the book even more enjoyable (as reading about winter during a heatwave is not fun).

Dani returns home tho Hope Island, just off the coast from Marram Bay in Yorkshire, from London tho spend Christmas with her parents. She had split with her boyfriend 6 months previously, however is still in contact with him as he is her boss at work. She is given a lift by a colleague, a man that she didn't like because he is too flashy and a serial womanizer, but hopes will give her a new job in Leeds as her London job is in jeopardy.
This is a slow burner, so not for those who want a faster paced book, but I did enjoy it. I can relate to Dani, invisible in the office to many and feeling underappreciated in the job. I am certainly nothing like Rex, the American loud but popular showbiz reporter, but was pleased tho see that he turned out to be not as shallow as he appears. There was plenty of humour with Dani trying to organise a Christmas party, with a great cast of supporting characters, and there were surprises tho keep you guessing. Although set at Christmastime it makes a good read at any time.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

Dani is home for Christmas after losing her boyfriend and being demoted at work. She has agreed to a fake relationship with Red which should benefit them both, but will it lead to more?
Fun festive read.

My review -

I always enjoy Portia MacIntosh books - she writes so well! You know you’re going to get a very sweet, clean, almost Hallmark-like storyline that everybody could read. You get low-angst, plenty of obstacles the couple has to clear to find their way to each other, and you always get your HEA!

Single All the Way is a previous novella that Portia MacIntosh expanded and altered - and you would never know it. It seems like a brand new, completely unique story - and it’s really good! It’s a workplace romance between the invisible girl, Dani, who’s trying to get a transfer after a breakup and her ex attempting to demote her, and a higher-up, flirts with everybody, Rex - a guy she doesn’t even thinks knows her name, let alone about her existence, and the only one who could get her into that new office location. An opportunity comes up that they can help each other out and both get what they want… and after she takes a trip home for Christmas (where nothing goes at all as she expects), a whole lot more!

A definite recommendation for everyone, especially if you’re a Portia MacIntosh fan!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Boldwood Books, and this is my honest feedback.

Seemed very odd reading a Christmassy book during the past few scorching days, but it felt chillier reading it with mentions of Christmas lights etc. Another excellent book from this author.

Loved, loved, loved this one! I didn’t think her last one, The Meet Cute Method, was her best, but this reworking of an older Christmas novella was just wonderful. I had a great sense of Christmas and there was just enough to keep me laughing, but also give me all the warm fuzzies.

Single All The Way is a fun Christmas read in the summer. Dani was dumped by her loser boyfriend after she caught him cheating on her. She still works for him but after being demoted, she is hoping to get a new job. It is Christmas time so she heads home to surprise her parents. They are on holiday but she tells everyone that she meant for that to happen and she is home to throw a party to end all parties.
This book was fantastic. I was rooting for Dani all the way. She decides to take action and move on and she does it. She is not wishy-washy. She is tired of being ignored and treated like crud.
Portia MacIntosh really brings these characters to life. Rex was slightly arrogant but then gets much better as Dani gets to know him. I really wanted to kick Dani’s ex in the nuts so bad because he was written like such a dick, lol. I love all the characters in Marram Bay were fun and colorful.
This was cute and I cannot wait to read more of Portia MacIntosh’s books. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of "Single All The Way", written by Portia MacIntosh. It is scheduled to release on August 18th, 2022!

Overall, I rated this novel a 4/5 stars!

The book centers around Dani, who has been broken up with her ex for the past 6 months because she found him cheating on her with someone else. However, it is not as clean of a break as she would like, because he also happens to be her boss at work - and she needs her job so that she can save up money. When her boss Tom decides to demote her, she goes off on a holiday trip back home, and is excited to see her parents, which she doesn't do as often as she would like. During that time frame, she also tries to approach a new job opportunity for herself.

The novel is extremely humorous. I really enjoyed the main character. I think that her & Rex had a lot of believable chemistry between one another.

It was hard for me to get into this book, I had such high hopes for it. I really loved the beginning and was disappointed that Rex and Dani did the kind of “long distance” in the middle of the book. I was hoping for more romance in the middle, but it focused more on Dani getting comfortable back home (which I loved minus the literal lying to everyone). I hated that Dani constantly was lying to everyone and then got mad when Ben called her out, while it made her character real it was so frustrating (especially when she was all talk about how old and mature she was). I was surprisingly disappointed on this one, but i overall enjoyed it and it got me excited for Christmas time back at home.

A lovely festive romcom with great characters, community friendship and romance, a book I will read again when I'm not in a heatwave.

I adore Portia MacIntosh's books. This one is simply no exception. I had previously read the novella of this book. But it was so lovely to read the book in full.

In this book we meet Dani. Who has been unlucky in love. Her boyfriend who is also her boss dumps her for a younger model. So Dani decides that she need to leave town to be able to clear her head and decides to go home to see her family and to spend Christmas with them.

So Dani decides to surprise her family who she hasn't seen in a few years and decides to turn up unannounced. But turning up unannounced turns out to be a very bad idea. Because her parents house is empty and her parents have gone away on holiday over the festive period.

With the town of marram bay looking beautifully festive, sadly there is nothing for Dani to do but to spend the festive period alone. But then Dani starts bumping into old friends, neighbours, old love interests and potential love interests. She can't face telling them the truth about what has happened to her recently and what a mess her life is. So in a wild panic moment Dani says that she is actually home to throw the whole town a mega Christmas party. But there is only 12 days until Christmas. How on earth is she going to pull off this massive feat.

This is another wonderful book by the wonderful author Portia MacIntosh. It is full of Christmas joy and Christmas spirit and is guaranteed to put a great big smile on your face and put you in the mood for the festive season.

This book was abit strange to be reading in the baking hot sun we’ve been having in Britain lately but nevertheless it was a lovely light hearted read. Dani has been working at the same advertising agency as her boyfriend and boss of two years, but when the relationship ends he decides to demote her. She’s at a loss what to do, now living in a horrible studio flat with a job that’s going no where, life is crap.
However on a normal day at work the entertainment boss and hot stuff decides to do his thing!! and hit on the new girl. But his charms are not working, feeling like ‘oh my god, how to I rescue myself’, he says theirs my girlfriend and kisses an unsuspecting Dani.
Taken aback he convinces her to be his fake girlfriend for the time being, thinking that if he’s taken the other girl won’t think badly of him.
We then have the story of their friendship, getting to know each other and the prospect of a job transfer to the Leeds branch for Dani.
Put into the mix going home for Christmas, being snowed in, finding her parents have gone on holiday leaving an empty house and no food and the growing feelings she is getting towards him. Oh and no to mention the huge party she’s hosting, will she survive???

Dani works for a magazine and has not only been dumped by her boss he also demotes her using staff cutbacks as an excuse so they don't have to work together, as it's London she can't afford to just leave but then hears about a job that is in Leeds
Enter Rex a loud American who is head of the showbiz section and a serial flirt who is interested in one of the female members of staff but she isn't interested in him until he pretends Dani is his girlfriend. Phoebe although shocked decides to play along once she has sort of blackmailed Rex into considering her for the Leeds job
A fab fun festive read. Really enjoyed it
