Good historical romance with a good helping of drama. Dialogue between characters was excellent and sometimes funny.

The Georgette Heyer fan in me was very happy to read this compelling and sweet romance.
Two strong, fleshed out, and likeable characters. A lovely plot and a vivid historical background.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I really enjoyed this book; I couldn’t put it down! This is a clean read about 2 strong yet kind characters, and as well as the usual marriage storyline which you get from books in the era, you also get espionage, smuggling, and kidnapping, so it made for a thoroughly entertaining read. I must also praise the author for writing such a neat epilogue which tied up any lingering questions

A charming ex soldier, a very feisty lady and a mystery with murder thrown into the mix. This book contains all the ingredients of a good read and a good read it is. The dialogue between the main characters is sparky and sometimes very funny. A regency romance with a difference and well worth reading.

A period romance with some intrigue, kidnapping, debts being called in and Napoleonic spies. Isabella is a great heroine, feisty and strong willed and yet tender and kind. She looks out for her sisters and her fierceness sees her intellect appreciated and listened to. Harry needs to marry but can’t quite shake his less chivalrous military behaviours when he is around Isabella. The romance weaves the mystery and danger into the plot well.
