This is book 6 in the series. This is told from a dual perspective. The characters are believable, well rounded and very flawed. This is a very gritty thriller.

I didn't realise this was book 6 of a series and feel that I would've appreciated the characters far more had I read the others first. That said, this is still a cracking read and we'll worth a read.

The Santa Killer is DI Barton Book number 6 and despite not having read the first five this did not detract from the enjoyment of the book at all. I have read on of Greenwood's books before (Prisoner) and despite the completely different settings, the gritty writing style was still present and made for a great read so much so that I need to go back and read all of the other DI Barton books now!

This is a serial killer thriller with plenty of suspects, great characters and a plot to match. I highly recommend it.

WOW Book 6 in the DI Barton series , this series just gets better and better! I love the way the author writes this series , alternating chapters between DI Barton and the killer. But doing this you keep trying to guess who the killer is , which in my case is never right !! Love it !!

MY first book by this author and boy is it a good one! There is a Santa on the warpath, he brutally assaults a widowed mother and that's not the end. I really wish I had read this book earlier when I received it, it's a tense holiday physcological thriller that I devored . With short chapters that follow on, I didn't want to miss a thing.

I ended up listening to this book as I was struggling to keep the characters clear in my head.

When listening to it. I thought it was really engaging and you could see the characters developing and the storylines were keeping me guessing all the way through. Never would have guessed.

The Santa Killer is the 6th book in the series by Ross Greenwood featuring Detective Inspector John Barton.
In the lead up to Christmas a single mother was brutally attacked just outside her front door. Her 9 year old, mostly non-verbal, daughter witnessed the attack. But she did draw a picture and when her granny asked who it was she said “bad Santa”. The woman, Maggie, was well liked by everyone and police are at a loss to find a motive.

A really good detective/crime thriller mystery.

Ross Greenwood brings DI Barton back for another nail-biting and perplexing case in his latest thriller, The Santa Killer.

Christmas is just a fortnight away, but there is not a lot of cheer in the air as a single mother is violently assaulted. Naturally, this attack leaves shockwaves reverberating all around the city and DI Barton vows to find the monster responsible and put him behind bars where he belongs. However, when he begins his investigation, Barton is shocked to his core when he finds out that the victim had no secrets, no enemies and nothing to hide. Why was she targeted? Was it a random attack? Or could there be an even more sinister reason behind this attack?

A few days later, Barton gets a call from the victim’s mother. It turns out that her granddaughter had been looking out the window when her mother was being attacked and she drew a terrifying picture. When her grandmother asks the young girl who the person with the weapon is she whispers two words that stop her in her tracks: Bad Santa.

There isn’t a lot of cheer and goodwill around and with the pressure on and Christmas fast approaching, Barton needs to get to the bottom of this mystery – and fast!

Ross Greenwood’s The Santa Killer is a dark, gritty and disturbing thriller that will have readers steering clear of Father Christmas for the foreseeable future! Ross Greenwood excels at writing fast-paced, high-octane and tension-filled police procedurals that keep crime fiction fans on the edge of their seats and with The Santa Killer, he has once again penned an addictive and enjoyable thriller that will keep them riveted to the page from beginning to end.

Once again Ross Greenwood hits it out the park with the Di Barton series,. This time DI Barton and the team investigates an attack on a single mother. and the only witness is her young daughter.

Once again the novel goes through dual point of views: Barton and the Killer. We find out about the killer's background and we follow the investigation as well as development for our side character (yay, Zander and Strange)., with a cracking ending!

Such fun I love it!. I can't wait until the next one!

Thanks for the chance to review this Netgalley!

This is the first Ross Greenwood book I've read and I really enjoyed it. Even though it wasn't the first in the series, I had no trouble catching up with the characters. It wasn't done in a boring way and I enjoyed the whole story.

Back with DI Barton and his team, this time on the case of a 'Bad Santa' who is attacking women and they need to find the culprit before they strike again.

Alternate chapters and a past/present narratives made it a very well-rounded story. Fast-paced with some great characters made it very easy to read.

Despite being gutted that this is the last in this series, it was another great instalment to finish on. This is still one of the most refreshing and believable police-procedural series I have read (and I read a lot!). You can't help but like down to earth John and I really hope we get to see him again in some form.

DI John Barton and team are back when a woman is brutally attacked on her doorstep. Her daughter who rarely communicates says it was Bad Santa that attacked her. Soon, another woman is also attacked in similar circumstances. Barton needs to figure out who is Bad Santa and what the motive is behind these attacks.
Plenty of twists and red herrings for the team to decipher and the clock is ticking before someone else falls victim.
Another great book by Ross Greenwood. This can be read in isolation but a really enjoyable series. Lots of background detail on Barton, his home life and his team that adds to the brilliance of the book.

DI Barton where have you been hiding! This book had me gripped from the first page to the last and even when I guessed the killer I was still kept captive trying to work out how and if they would be caught.

The chapters are short and this book is written in a very easy to read writing style which is perfect for me. I must confess I read the last half in one sitting though as found it impossible to put down.
The characters are so perfectly formed by the vivid descriptions that you feel every inch of fear for the victims and the pure rage of the ‘bad Santa’.

My only disappointment is that I was previously unaware of this author and this series of books and I can’t wait to work my way through their back catalogue and see how the characters have all developed to this point.

I would highly recommend this page turning Christmas mystery which is full to the brim with plot twists. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
