A seemingly normal, happy family with lots of secrets to be discovered. Full of twists and turns this was a great read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in return for my honest and unbiased opinion

This was a great book with characters you'll root for, in a story you won't forget. Finished it in no time. A must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted tale.

Julia is a lawyer, Paul is a stay at home dad who dedicates his time to helping their daughter Chrissie achieve her dreams as a talented Violinist.

On the night of a big competition after Chrissie has given the performance of a lifetime she goes missing. Julia and Paul think she has gone home but back at home her room is empty and has been ransacked.

The police are called, suddenly every single crack, secret, that the family are hiding risks being exposed.

The story goes back eight weeks before the competition, where we get a real feel for this family and discover what lies and deception they have been hiding.

For me the book started well but the pace was slow and I found it to be a bit long winded. I'm glad I persevered as the pace did pick up at the end.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Julia is a lawyer from a wealthy background. Her husband Paul is a stay-at-home dad dedicated to supporting Chrissie, their extremely talented violinist daughter.

However, there are many secrets hiding behind the facade of this wealthy and successful family.

Paul already thinks he knows something of Julia's troubled past from the quiet conversations her mother has with him. But when Chrissie goes missing during a prestigious music competition, their secrets are at risk of being revealed, and instead of sharing all the incriminating evidence, they embark on a surreptitious trip to find their daughter themselves.

I was fortunate to receive a copy of this ARC from NetGalley and HQ.

This a compelling read. What makes a child prodigy violinist disappear? Was she taken or was she trying to escape the external pressures being placed on her? There are clearly significant family secrets and her parents do not seem to have a happy marriage.

Another well thought out novel from this author!

Chrissie goes missing after a competition round in Young Musician of the Year. As the police and her parents try to find her, secrets come tumbling out of every imaginable hiding place, twisting the story into new directions with every turn of the page.

This is a book to pass around the office; they'll be queuing for it!

Unfortunately this book wasn’t for me. I struggled to connect with the characters and I found the plot boring and predictable. I’m sure this book will find the right readers. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for a chance to read and review this book. I’m

A gripping story that had me hooked to know what secrets Julia and Paul were hiding.

A wealthy couple, Julia and Paul, enjoy a great life with their daughter, Chrissie, who is an accomplished violinist. However, she goes missing after a music competition land that is when the secret revealing themselves. When nobody in this family seems to be who you think they are, Both intriguing and annoying that I was fooled.
The story kept my interest and was a page turner even if I didn't like some of the characters.
The story was good but I think the author gave too many details away, so the story did become a little predictable. However , it was pretty well written and an enjoyable read. A little less hints at the beginning of the story would have added to the suspense of the book.

I LOVE this author’s books and this has been a great read. I found myself completely caught up in this one and unwilling to put this book down.

This is every bit as addictive and powerful as this author’s previous books. Where has Chrissie gone? Why did she disappear from the music venue? My mind has been constantly looking for answers as I’ve read this one. This is a book that I have found myself hooked on.

East is able to take the reader on a rollercoaster with this read, We start off worried about a missing girl and as events begin to unfold- the reader is filled with questions. Paul and Julia are interesting characters and we see more of them as the plot unfolds.

I have been transported by this book. I have felt as though I have been watching the events play out in front of me. This is a real talent of the author’s. Everything feels familiar.

There are so many secrets to unfold in the pages of I’ll Never Tell; these can be claustrophobic on times but I have been desperate to see these unfold. These are questionable characters and as a reader we delve into their actions and see them reap the consequences.

Philippa is a brilliant author and I’ll Never Tell is quite possibly my favourite book by her yet. This is a brilliant book and one I will be highly recommending.

The final... 25% odd of this novel is very, very good. Yet the build up to it is so slow and repetitive that it's a miracle I got there at all. Julia and Paul live in a marriage full of secrets. We find out Paul's secret fairly early on, yet what's going on with Julia is danced around in a most annoying fashion. There daughter, Chrissie, is a musical prodigy who suddenly goes missing after a musical competition leaving Julia and Paul in a desperate race to find her.

The problem is that so much time is spent in the past and gently teasing out the secrets that lie behind the perfect nuclear family act that the it is less of a desperate race and more of a meandering jaunt. I suspect the intent was to build up tension and suspense, but instead I simply found myself bored and wishing it would get a move on. The whole premise of the book is Chrissie's disappearance and yet we spend hundreds of pages watching her rehearse, or her dad's obsession with her perfection or her mum's secret life. It felt completely unnecessary.

When we finally get to the good stuff, the book really does pick up and is a fascinating read. Some of the secrets that - FINALLY - come out of the woodwork are actually almost worthy of the insane build up. Others less so, but that's life. I suspect if the characters were more appealing I might not have minded taking the seriously scenic route to get to the point. But both parents are fairly flat and faintly unpleasant and that's who you spend most of your time with.

So all in all, not really a winner for me. It's too slow. To waffly. Too repetitive. The final fifth or forth does pick up, but not enough to redeem it from it's own mediocrity.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my free review copy of this title.

Wealthy couple, Julia and Paul, have the kind of life that many envy. Their daughter, Chrissie, is an accomplished violinist. However, when she goes missing after a competition lots of secrets come out. Nobody in this family is what they claim to be.
While the story kept my interest, I have to confess that the characters were all quite unpleasant. It was obvious that there were numerous issues and these were compounding the problems featuring in the narrative.
The story depended on us not knowing the full extent of the problems, but there were so many hints that it felt unlikely nobody outside the family would have worked out any of these things.
Thanks to NetGalley for giving me the chance to read and review this.

A gripping read following a family whose daughter has gone missing….told in the past and present to help us unravel…..gripping and I wanted to get to the end of it!

I'd thoroughly enjoyed Philippa's previous two books and this one also pulled me in straight away.

The book tells the story of Julia, a successful lawyer, Paul, a stay-at-home dad and Chrissie, their teenage daughter who is a gifted musician. Chrissie has a strict practising routine every day, encouraged by her proud father. However, while everything appears perfect on the surface, there are multiple secrets within the family and things are not as they seem. When Chrissie disappears one day, this sets off a multitude of events, which threaten to reveal the family's long buried secrets and lies.

From the beginning, the book had a sinister underlying menace within its pages lurking beneath the surface. You know something is not right somehow, but you don't quite know why, or who is to blame. Whilst none of the characters were particularly likeable, they were well portrayed and the story kept me turning the pages to discover the truth.

If you enjoy twisty, slow burn well written psychological thrillers, you'll enjoy this. Recommended.

Thanks to author Philippa East, publishers HQ and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a intriguing story, intricately woven together, retelling events of the weeks leading up to their daughter's disappearance from both parents' shady perspectives. Her dad has given it all up to stay at home and coach her musical talents, pushing her to be the very best she can while her mum works all the hours god sends in the law firm she aspires to be made partner. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this advance read copy.

I really enjoyed Philippa East's previous books Safe and Sound and Little White Lies.

I was intrigued by the description of I'll Never Tell and thought it was an interesting story. Whilst it was well written and had lots of twists and turns, I didn't particularly like any of the characters so I wasn't as invested in the book as I was with her previous 2.
