The Bridge to Where I Come From by Marilyn Maduka is a wonderful collection of poetry that is both encouraging and reflecting. Covering a wide range of topics including love, courage, friendships and overall life experiences, Marilyn intertwines depth and hopefulness throughout each poem. Her writings and drawings create a more personal feel than some other collections I've read lately. I feel like I found a true gem while reading her work.

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book!

While I may personally not have loved these poems, someone else may. They’re not bad, they’re just not to my taste. I also did think that the illustrations that opened each section were really nicely done, and I can see someone becoming obsessed with those.
