You haven't heard from me in days? That's because I was devouring this book and gosh was it a whole bunch of fun.
I just absolutely love the way Karen McManus can utterly transport me and I am just lost for days. She's not the queen for nothing and this book was no exception.
Cold cases are my new favourite mystery plot and this book executed it perfectly. There were oh so many layers to this mystery and I loved it so much. The teacher plot line was fascinating, and we would learn something new all the time and my brain was guessing left, right and centre.
The setting was immersive and engaging, as are all of KMM books and I LOVED IT. She writes high school so well and I am taking notes.
However my favourite by far was the characters, as usual. Brynn was a phenomenal main character, complex and funny and also vulnerable, which I appreciated. Tripp was a cinnamon roll and I loved him to bits. Obsessed with the romance, god McManus knows how to write a romance <3<3<3
I think my only qualm was the mystery itself was not THE most engaging of hers in comparison to the other's I've read. I wasn't completely satisfied with the ending and I was mostly reading because I found the characters so interesting. But this was not enough to take away from my enjoyment overall.
If you're looking for an addictive YA murder mystery to lose yourself in, look no further, you're going to have the bestest time!!!!!

Brynn returns to St. Ambrose High School, where four years ago three, 13-year old students found the body of their teacher, Mr. Larkin in the woods. The death is still unsolved and Brynn, a true crime enthusiast starts to investigate. As it turns out Mr. Larkin had a dark and mysterious past of his own. Who was Mr. Larkin really and did his past get him murdered?
There is no doubt that Karen McManus has a brilliant mind. She takes her time to build up the plot and the characters but when the story starts to unfold there is just so much of tension and red herrings galore.
I enjoyed this YA mystery with unexpected twists. The more answers I got the more questions I had. It was fun trying to put the pieces together. The dual Povs of the main protagonists Brynn and Tripp were interesting and I loved seeing their equation with the other characters.
This was an entertaining thriller with some great character development and a well-plotted mystery. Also a good book to start if you want to dive into Karen McManus' thrillers.

Mr. Larkin was once a teacher at Saint Ambrose School and now he is the victim in an unsolved murder case. Three students discovered his body and might know more about who he truly was and why his body was left in the woods but are unwilling to admit it. Brynn has returned to her school after an absence of four years and is working in secret with a true crime show to aid in solving this case. She will have to get close to the three students if she is to be of any use and that means revealing more about herself, as well as the witnesses and the deceased, in the process.
You can't really go wrong with a McManus thriller, can you? I find every one of her books to be ones I can soar through, full of unguessable twists, and with a plethora of characters who are all varying degrees of suspicious and untrustworthy. This most recent release was no exception.
Brynn is both knowledgeable about the case and has the dual perspective of an outsider to it, due to her time away from the school, which made her insights consistently intriguing. I loved exploring just who each of the central characters truly were and how each of them had a part, however unwilling or unwitting, in the crime committed.
I especially loved the addition of the true crime TV show as it ensured more adult characters were introduced as well as for the crime to be exposed through a new framing. I had many theories and all of them were proven incorrect, at the novel's multiple climaxes.

As always Karen M McManus books are excellent quality, although I found the pace of this one a little slower than the others, and I think my enjoyment was hindered slightly by the fact that several of the protagonists were down right unlikable in a way that previous novels havenโt been.

Another great novel from Karen McManus. Brynn's favourite high school teacher was murdered shortly before she and her family moved away. Four years on, the case was never solved and Brynn has moved back. Picking up the threads of old friendships, she is sure some of her class mates, particularly the three who found Mr Larkin, know more than they are admitting. An internship into a true crime show provides the opportunity to do some digging into what went on, but this comes at a cost.... Sure to please McManus fans, this is a great read for thriller/murder mystery fans aged 13 and over.

This book kept me guessing until the end. I enjoyed the split narrative giving the viewpoints of the two main characters. The characters were well written and believable and the detail of Brynn doing an internship at Motive gave a solid reason for her investigations.

Nothing More To Tell is Karen Mcmanus at her best. It's twisty, keeps you guessing and turning the pages. Has characters you love, characters you think are dodgy and know they have something to do with whats going on, then you have ones you just don't expect.
It's another masterful and intriguing, well plotted read from an author who gets better with every book she releases.

"That's the thing nobody ever tells you about being involved in a murder: it tends to keep you up at night."
When Brynn, a senior student in high school, gets an internship at a hit true crime podcast, she's elated. After all, she wants to be a journalist. She even pitches a story they're interested in: four years ago, Brynn's favourite teacher Mr Larkin was found murdered in the woods outside school. No one was ever arrested but Brynn believes the three students who found his body know more than they ever told the police.
What's more, Brynn is returning to St Ambrose school after leaving shortly after the murder. And it sets her up perfectly to investigate. There is glamorous and wealthy Charlotte, her heartthrob boyfriend Shane, and Brynn's ex-best friend, Tripp who started acting strangely shortly before the killing. But the deeper Brynn digs, the more she realises nothing and no one is as they seem, and the closer she comes to danger herself.
I confess I haven't read 'One of Us is Lying' โ I must be one of the last people on earth who haven't but I will get to it. 'Nothing More to Tell' is a YA thriller that is enjoyable but I wouldn't call it memorable. Brynn was annoying at times but as a journalist myself you kind of have to be if you want to get the truth. I was actually way more interested in Tripp's POV, because he slowly feeds you the tidbits about what really happened.
I'll definitely check out the author's other books.

When Brynn returns to her old school, fresh from acquiring an internship with Motive, a true crime show, she is emboldened to look at a cold case connected to the school with fresh eyes. Her former teacher, Mr. Larkin, was found murdered in the woods near the school four years ago and her former friend, Tripp, was one of three students to discover the body.
It was so hard to predict the outcome of this one. Even when you think you know what happened... YOU DONโT. I wasnโt hugely invested in the romance, but the mystery and focus on the true crime genre was enough to keep me engaged.
I was disappointed with McManusโs previous book โYouโll Be the Death of Meโ, but Iโm happy to say that โNothing More to Tellโ was on parr with โOne of Us Is Lyingโ and โThe Cousinsโ.
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Random House for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I LOVE how this book ends...I wish there was more.
There was a lot of twists and turns in the end I just didn't know what to expect!
I really did enjoy this one!

I had never read Karen McManus before this title, but my daughter (and the children I work with) love her books so I thought it was time I read one before myself.
I can see why these books are so popular - they are fast paced and you are soon sucked into a whirlpool of mystery! Brynn returns to her hometown and old school after four years away. She is desperate to be regarded as a journalist following a 'misdemeanor' as her last school which has left her needing to prove herself. Brynn manages to talk her way into an internship post on a local crime-busting investigative TV show and gets caught up with the need to prove who murdered one of her teachers 4 years ago - a crime which remains unsolved.
Three teenagers found the body and Brynn is sure there is more to their story than meets the eye. I do think some of the characters are stereotyped (pretty popular girls, jocks, scholarship children with abandonment issues...); however, they are developed and have a clever story woven around them to create convincing rounded characters.
The book explores relationships and misunderstandings with a complex, cleverly plotted story with fabulous twists that I did not see coming.

Having heard so much about these books by this author from students I had to give this a go.. A YA great book that twists and turns a lot and keeps the reader interested. I will certainly be reading more

Never anticipated the outcome! There are so many unexpected turns in this novel! I adored it! Will read more books by Karen McManus because she never dissatisfies.

Karen McManus has done it again. In "Nothing More to Tell" she tells the story of Brynn, who returns to her old school where a teacher was murdered four years ago. In line with her new internship, she investigates his death and tries to find out who is the actual murderer. Three pupils, amongst them her former best friend Trip, have been the ones to find the murdered teacher in the forest. How are they involved in the teacher's murder? A teacher that everyone loved?
Karen McManus' new novel has it all: drama, crime, a love story and again, a plot twist that you do not see coming. Nonetheless, I did not like the open ending of the novel. But that is only a minor factor in the otherwise great reading experience.

Teenager Brynn takes it upon herself to find out the truth about the long unsolved murder of a teacher at her school, and gets an internship on a true-crime TV show as part of her investigations and to pursue the story further. This is a decent thriller but the cold case investigation all feels at a bit of a remove, so dilutes a little how invested we are in the central crime and mystery & there's maybe too many characters & red herrings, but it's a readable enough story.

Karen McManus does it again!
The plot and the twists are just amazing. I liked the characters and the humour.
I am really enjoying her books they are easy to read and not too heavy going.

Karen McManus can do no wrong in terms
Of YA thrillers and this one doesnโt disappoint. I actually think this is better than oouil and the twists of the story are better.
Fabulous book

I really enjoyed this. Another engaging mystery from McManus. I'll be looking to add this to my classroom bookshelf alongside her others.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC.
McManus has smashed it out of the park again. There's a reason she's queen of the teen noir genre! I read all of this in less than 24 hours (would have been less if I could!). It was tightly plotted and I like that some of the characters weren't as privileged, which allowed McManus to explore issues of class a bit more.

Absolutely brilliant! Karen McManus is one of the best YA authors Iโve come across. Iโve read all of her books now and this has to be up their as one of my favourites. Perfect for fans of โThe Good Girls Guide to Murderโ - it was extremely easy to get into and each chapter left me wanting to find out more. Captivating and gripping right from the get go, it was a book thatโs sure to keep you turning pages long after you promised yourself youโd put it down!
