This book is great for beginners who love Bob Ross. Personally, I thought the designs were a bit simplistic and I would have liked more patterns which focused on the art he used to paint rather than cartoons of him as a figure. There was a good number of patterns included however and the instructions were easy to follow.

Super cute book with about Bob with 12 cross stitch patterns. One has raccoons!! They show many examples of what you can do with your pattern when it’s done. One colorful quote is on a bag. One quote becomes a pillow, and there’s a infamous profile that is left stitched in a hoop. Includes basic instructions on how to cross stitch. Just a cute cross stitch pattern book all about Bob. I loved it.

The book was nice but I was expecting some Bob Ross inspired landscapes, the cover was misleading and the only reason I requested because I thought this was a book of Bob Ross landscapes.
As a cross stitcher it was easy to follow.
Thanks to Net Galley and Quarto Publishing for this arc

I assumed incorrectly that this would be a book of patterns of some of the paintings that Bob Ross did. When I looked into the book and saw I was wrong, I was a bit taken aback, but what is included is pretty wonderful. Some of his famous sayings are added with objects (paint tubes, trees, mountains). I think the patterns would be a lot of fun to create. I am in a painting class and cross stitching one of these designs to an apron would be a fabulous gift for the teacher.

The beginning of the book has very good instructions for a novice of cross stitching, or a good refresher to someone like me, who has not cross stitched in a while. Along with the instructions and pattern, each finished cross stitch is shown as a finished product, in a frame, on a tote bag, or apron etc.

I want to thank Quarto Publishing Group – Becker & Mayer and NetGalley for allowing me to view the advance reader copy, with no obligation to write a review. My review is written freely as a hobby, and is totally my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC.

I will admit it - I am biased here. I love Haley Pierson-Cox. While I haven't listened to her podcast (though it's on my list), I love her cross stitch books. Improper cross stitch? Golden Girls? Feminist stitches?? Yes, please. I cross stitch for relaxation, but I also like designs that are funny/fun/mischievous/outlandish/nostalgic and she always delivers. Her books are great for people who already do cross stitch, but she makes them simple enough that beginners will be able to follow along as well. It's also good for beginners because she talks about how to stitch, things like making sure you wash your hands (very important!) and the equipment to use. Would absolutely recommend for anyone who loves painting happy little trees!

This is a pretty good intro to Cross Stitch for anyone whole likes Bob Ross and quotes. I found the book a little lacking given the title and cover - I think I clouding something that let's buyers know that the majority of patterns are quotes would be really helpful. The patterns themselves were easy to read, and they weren't too complicated. I didn't like how they discussed how to select the right fabric size - hidden in the beginning instructions - but since this is a beginner book, I would assume most people will read the beginning instructions. Overall, if I had someone in my life that was new to Cross Stitch and liked Bob Ross, I would recommend this book.

This book contains 11 of Bob Ross's most famous pieces advice converted into cross stitch patterns, as well as a pattern of a portrait of him (12 patterns in total). Easy to follow instructions, including some basic cross stitch 101. The only negative, if there is one, is that the only floss numbers listed are dmcs so if you use any other material you'll need to do the conversions on your own, though there are plenty of websites that make this super easy for you. Would buy this book for any cross stitch fan or any Bob Ross fan.

Cute beginner x-stitch book. Would be a great gift for a crafter who loves Bob Ross and wants to take up some basic embroidery arts. For a seasoned cross-stitch Er, the patterns will be very quick, simple projects to whip up.

Bob Ross is a cultural icon, although I confess to having never watched a single one of his art shows (due to not residing in the US). Be that as it may, he is still an icon, and his happy little trees have been shared across continents,

Bob Ross Cross Stitch is an homage to the man who made art accessible,

The opening section of the book is a detailed look at the tools and processes needed for cross stitching, from starting, stitching and finishing your work.

The rest of the book is pattens. There is an example of the finished product, then a grid pattern of the design, showing the stitcher how many rows to stitch of a certain colour. This may look daunting fir beginner stitchers, but each square on the grid patterns align to one square of AIDA cloth. There;s also a handy guide to the colours to use.

Most of the patterns are inspiration quotes from Bob Ross, with an accompanying graphic. - from his happy little accidents" line to the uplifting "I knew you could do it" and the reassuring "trees cover up a multitude of sins".

While this would be a good book for fans of Bob Ross, it also has appeal to a wider audience. It's possibly not a beginner cross stitch book, though - I'd recommend it to intermediate stitchers.

This was an enjoyable Bob Ross inspired cross stitch book geared towards beginners.
Included were a selection of great Bob Ross quotes that would be wonderful hung up in a classroom as reminders to students.

I was however expecting more detailed cross stitch patterns that mimicked Ross’s designs and his “happy little trees” similar to the cover picture. The book was misleading in this way.

The instructions were clear and I loved the colour coded floss numbers.
It would definitely be a great gift for a Bob Ross fan or someone just starting out on their cross stitch journey.

Thanks to Net Galley and Quattro Publishing for the advanced copy.

So many people enjoyed Bob Ross and his tv show The Joy of Painting. Now there is a cross-stitch book with 12 patterns that feature some of his famous quotes. And what a fun book it is! It includes one of my favorite Bob Ross quotes – “We don’t make mistakes. We just have happy accidents”. Words to live by for sure.

Along with the book are also enough supplies (fabric, floss, etc.) to make two of the designs. The instructions are in color, making it easy to create the pattern as well as imagine the finished project. With easy to follow directions and general information about cross stitching, this book should appeal to both beginners and more advanced stitchers.

I haven’t cross-stitched in a while, but this book has me eager to get started again!

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.

I love the saying from the Bob Ross Cross Stitch. I look forward to being able to do some. I enjoy the introduction for the book. I like how they give good instruction on how to cross stitch from prepare the fabric to making the different type of stitches. Each of the quotes remind me of different episodes of the show. This is a book that I will have to get at some so I can do them.

This is an adorable little book. Bob Ross is a guy that always made me smile, and especially with the things that he would say. While I was expecting this book to be cross-stitch patterns of Bob Ross's face and maybe some paintings of his, it was a book of mostly his quotes. And this was awesome. Sayings like, "We don't make mistakes, just happy accidents." And of course there is one cross-stitch pattern of just his face and signature.

The cross stitch patterns seem easy to follow with colors of threads listed and clear instructions. I would think it would be easy for a beginner to follow along with the patterns.

If you like art, and cross stitch, this is the book for you. Or if you are looking to cross stitch something as a gift for an artist...this is the book for you. Would recommend.

This book has such cute patterns and I've already started the happy little accidents one. I know our crafters are going to love it, so I'll be purchasing it.

I was happier than a little tree when I got approved for an ARC of this one!

The author presents a dozen projects featuring stitched versions of the wit and wisdom of Ross . . . Bobisms, if you will.

This is a fun collection, though I would have liked a few Ross-inspired landscapes.

I know what my oldest son will be getting for Christmas this year!

The artist/author Haley Pierson-cox has brought us another awesome cross stitch pattern book! They also published the Improper Cross Stitch pattern book, so you know when she brings us some Bob Ross, it'll be a good one!

The book starts us on a refresher course of learning how cross stitch.

Then there are 12 patterns to chose from. Lots of quotes from the late Bob Ross himself.

This belongs in your cross stitch library!! It releases late September 2022!

Thank you #NetGalley and #QuartoPyblishingGroup for letting me read and review #BobRossCrossStitch

This is a great gift for anyone who is a major fan of Bob Ross! I love the variety of designs and the positive messages. Any of these designs would also make great gifts for artists or friends, which they show off on aprons, pillows and bags (along with framed options).

There's a great little intro section that goes over cross-stitch techniques, starting and finishing your project. A little info about Bob Ross is included, and while it isn't extensive, I wouldn't think someone coming to an embroidery book would be looking for a deep dive into his life and works (and eventually mass commercialization by the folks who took the rights to his name, aka not Bob's family).
