This book was everything I hoped it would it be.
I was hooked quickly and completely unwilling to put this down. I devoured this book in just one sitting. I have no regrets and can’t wait to read more by this author.

This is book four in a series. The main character is very relatable and likeable. The writing is brilliant. There is mystery within it. I didn’t see the twists coming

This book is the fourth installement of this series, however I do believe it can be enjoyed as a standalone too.

Cassie McNamara found herself serving a prison sentence following the murder of her husband, Paul - a murder in which she did not commit. This sentence left her unable to see her daughter Grace, who is fast approaching adulthood which means she will legally be able to see her once again.

Cassie is determined to clear her name, and enlists the help of Dee Doran to do so, however life is about to deal her yet another dreadful blow as Grace goes missing - and Cassie finds herself the primary suspect for the murder of her own child.

It is safe to say that this book was full of twists and turns from start to finish, all of which kept me thoroughly engrossed and needing to read more. The plot is perfectly paced, and the characters are brought to life wonderfully by the authors writing style.

I didn't realise this was part of a series and this was the first for me from this author but hopefully not the last
A good read, lots of twists and turns and gripping.

I really enjoyed You Were Always Mine for a lot of reasons, but the main reason was it felt like a crime novel but told from a perspective other than the police detective which I really appreciated. The mystery-level is high, and this is a classic whodunit that also explores family relationships, especially that of mother and daughter, and sisters. I'm giving four stars instead of five because I did think the ending was a little predictable, but was overall satisfying.

A well thought out plot and I really enjoyed that I had no idea who the perpetrator was, I was left guessing throughout and was surprised by the ending. I liked the characters and how they are portrayed. I just kept turning the pages. A gripping crime that will have you guessing.

Cassie McNamara went to prison for the murder of her husband, Paul Cavellini, a murder she did not commit. She hasn't seen her daughter Grace for so long, but when Grace reaches eighteen she will be allowed to legally see her. She seeks out investigative reported Dee Doran to try & clear her name but then Grace goes missing & is found at the base of Beachy Head. Cassie is now suspected of murdering her too. So she disappears. Dee believes Cassie & is soon making waves among the Cavellini family. She is not someone who gives up easily- even when it becomes obvious that someone will stop at nothing to keep their secrets. Regardless of the danger to herself Dee is determined to get to the truth.

Although this is the fourth in the series it works perfectly well as a stand-alone. There were lots of misdirections & twists to keep the reader guessing. I really liked Dee & her passion to get to the truth. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

There's something about the way the author writes that makes the words flow easily, and the pages turn themselves!

It's the second mystery I read by this author and I think these are well plotted and entertaining mysteries.
Dee is a fleshed out, clever and strong main character and liked her.
The plot is well developed and the solid mystery kept me guessing.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine

Before reading this, I did not realize it is a part of a series following investigative journalist Dee Doran. I usually try not to start in the middle of a series, but this could be read perfectly as a standalone. I was not confused at all. After reading this, I am definitely interested in the rest of the series. Dee is a great protagonist and a gripping character. She is very likable and relatable.

The other characters in this were also weirdly likable and I was intrigued by all of them. I thought the development of the characters was very even and I got a good sense for who they all were.

I really liked how the ending came full circle and answered all of my questions. I definitely did not see the twist coming at all either.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Not as good as previous entries of the Dee Doran series. Not as gripping due to some diversions in terms of narrative functionality. A shame as I like Bugler's work. This is my taste and not a reflection upon the writer who I have a lot of time for

Years ago, she went to prison for killing her husband. Now, her daughter is dead too.
Cassie McNamara was found guilty of the murder of her husband, Paul Cavellini, but she has always protested her innocence. Upon her release, she is ready to start over and hires local journalist, Dee Doran, to prove she was wrongfully convicted.
Cassie and Paul’s young daughter, Grace, was adopted by Paul’s family. When eighteen-year-old Grace goes missing and her body is found, all eyes turn to Cassie as the prime suspect in her daughter’s death. Then, Cassie, just like Grace, disappears.
Cassie maintains her innocence but she's terrified and has no choice but to run. Left behind to investigate, Dee must work the truth behind Grace and Paul's deaths, and what Cassie is running from – or who.

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.
Recommend reading.

I was provided an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher. This is my own honest voluntary review.

A good thriller, set on the south coast of England . Mainly investigated by Dee, a writer and broadcaster interested in crime. The police are involved, but not particularly intrinsic to the story . Lots of characters which takes some concentration, remembering who is who . The story is also told from multiple points of view and in different time frames which adds to the complexity.
The book kept my interest mostly, though seemed a bit long winded in the middle. Communication is sometimes a bit shallow , examples being that Dee and her boyfriend Ed, seem to fall out over stuff that any other adult would discuss . Is Dee's investigation slightly unbelievable ? There are certainly more than a few twists in the plot, which did seem reasonably believable.
All in all a good read though, my thanks to Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

I have never read this author before I didn’t realise this was the 4th book in the series it doesn’t really matter though but will definitely read the other 3 now. Cassie was put in jail for murdering her husband but has always denied it. She has a daughter Grace who is determined to clear her mother’s name she asked Dee who is a journalist to probe into her father’s murder as she gets involved with the investigation nothing is as it seems.

Definitely recommend and thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC
