Very sweet and funny, love the art style. I haven’t read a graphic novel in a while but this had me hooked and found it really enjoyable!

Thank you NetGalley and for giving me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was really sweet. The illustrations are gorgeous and well paired with dialogue. This is worth the hype. I really enjoyed reading this.

This was actually very interesting I enjoyed the relationship in this book and I thought it was very unique. I actually did really like the setting of this book and how she has to steal in the house part of her and how it shows the people can accept you regardless of what you have going on and they will love it, except you. You’re just waiting for the right person to come along which I think is great and I would recommend for people to read this as it gives you a different perspective on life and how people should actually treat you. I did actually really like this art style. It was colourful and draw you in and keep you interested in the book.

A very strange tale set out in a comic strip type fashion about two teens that steal and who proceed to fall in love. It is not my typical read and I found myself distracted by the drawings. But I think for someone who enjoys this type of book and for something very light hearted, I would certainly suggest it. I personally rate it 3 stars ***

This book is perfect for fans of Heartstopper - adorable and fun while also hitting some more serious topics. Stories centred around adolescence can often be cringey, but Thieves manages to avoid that while still having really likeable protagonists. I wish there were more books like this around when I was a teenager.

3.5 stars. Thank you to the publisher for the initial ARC of this book, though I ended up waiting to receive the final finished copy as the format of the ARC proved really tricky to read on my Kindle.

This was a sweet WLW graphic novel with nice low-stakes. Elle likes to party, and has been secretly pining after her quiet classmate Madeleine for sometime when she finds out that the stuff she accidentally stole from a house party actually belongs to Madeleine. The two quickly start a relationship, when Madeleine confesses to a troubling habit. This was an easy, cosy read without too much drama or emotional turmoil. The art style is sweet and the muted colour scheme attractive, so this book will look very aesthetically pleasing in anyone's graphic novel collection. One for fans of Heartstopper for sure - very similar tone.

This loses me a little with its similarity to a lot of other graphic novels in the YA market at the moment, both in content and style. I also thought Elle and Madeleine got together a little abruptly and I would have liked a bit more simmer there! Will definitely be popular with the kids at my school.

I absolutely adored this graphic novel! The story is incredibly sweet while touching upon a variety of important subjects, and I loved the art style so much! Perfect for fans of Heartstopper, Bloom, Lara Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me or Check, Please!

This a lovely book that mixes a coming-of-age story with a plot that involves a reverse heist.

Ella and Maddy's chemistry is great, and it is easy to invest in their relationship.

It's a funny story full of fab visual gags as well as grin-inducing witty dialogue.

A reall cute adorable queer lovestory/ coming of age story that discusses mental health in teenagers. This book was a really quick read and I really enjoyed how sensitive topics like depression and OCD was discussed.

This is a wonderful tale of how a relationship can be tested by the honeymoon phase and if the levels of trust has been broken. It shows that love can overcome all adversity

This was a cute story and I enjoyed the characters but the art style wasn't one I was a fan of. It just distracted me as they looked very odd in some of the strips. Okay but wouldn't recommend tbh.

I thoroughly enjoyed and laughed out loud several times while reading this sweet and surprisingly deep graphic novel about a pair of teenagers dealing with the after-effects of some kleptomaniac urges. A drunken night at a party at a mansion leads to a magpie's nest of stolen things and a joint plan to return them to their rightful homes. There were some lovely thoughts here on friendship, on new relationships, on obligations of disclosure, and it's all wrapped up in some gorgeously evocative art. Definitely a big fan of this artist, and will look out for more!

Very light-hearted, with a fun illustration style.

Would love to see more from these characters!

This was a very sweet story with a bit of danger and drama thrown in. The relationships and friendships between all the main characters are adorable and it was also quite humorous in places.

An adorable graphic novel about two girls who decide to return items they have stolen whilst falling in love .. what's not to like! The art style is wonderful and I couldn't help but sit and read this in one sitting as it was such a cosy read. I really liked the characters who aren't perfect but aren't totally out of control either and are trying to do the right thing. A perfect cosy autumn read for fans of Alice Oseman.

Thieves by Lucie Bryon first caught my eye with its art. Bryon's style is both cute and original with some quirky touches in some scenes (my favourite being one where Ella is imagining herself underwater.) The story itself of starts out fairly simple with Ella finding herself hungover and surrounded by her crush's things, but develops real depth over the course of the story. Madeleine in particular goes from being the illusive "dream girl" to a fully drawn character with flaws and you get a much better sense of her. Unfortunately I think this is less true for Ella, but the story still works with less of a focus for her particularly in context. Also my favourite was Ella's friend Leslie who is the rock that underpins a lot of the couple's shenanigans. A very cute and insightful graphic novel and one I'm happy to recommend.
