Drakaina’s Fire is an excellent sci-fi fantasy fated mate romance with tons of action. Our MC Daphne Drak is the stuff of myths and legends part of an immortal race Daphne has become the leader of her family. They are a large group of mercenaries strong warrior women who always compete their mission.

Everett is the youngest general in the history of the armed forces and is drawn into a plan to snoop on Daphne and her family. But Everett become ms embroiled in a dangerous political battle that derails his ordered life and sets fire to the blood in his veins. I enjoyed this fated mate story that reads well as a stand-alone and look forward to reading future books in the series. I highly recommend it if you love dragons, fated mated and lots of action.

If you’re interested in finding a book that has a strong female lead and a man who can handle what she brings to the table than this is definitely for you. This paranormal romance story offers action , romance and some villains which I very much enjoyed. With that being said, I found that this book was lacking in the sense that there wasn’t anything overtly exciting about the plot or how the story played out. I believe there wasn’t much depth to certain characters and I didn’t necessarily enjoy how the story started off slow. I felt that although the story met most of my foundational requirements there wasn’t much that was necessarily appealing to me regarding the chemistry between the two love interests. Overall, this was a wholesome read that I believe some will find very enjoyable.

An enjoyable paranormal novel filled with strong women, sass, adventure, and romance. I loved reading this story of a female dragon and the man that fell in love with her.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I loved that there was a strong FMC who didn’t need a man to save her every time she turned around, the bond between this FMC and her sisters, her sense of duty and fierce loyalty every step of the way. I loved that her sisters obeyed her every order knowing she wanted nothing but for them to be safe and sound at every turn. One thing I thought was odd, most “normal” people would’ve at least been in a little shock after finding out what Daphne was and some of the situations they were put into, why wasn’t Everett? As much as I’d like to believe his inner being kept that from happening, I feel like at least for a few minutes he’d have lost his cool and maybe panicked a little. It seems a bit weird for him to just take it all in stride and never doubt it for a second. The romance aspect of the book was overall well written and thought out, although they did act a little bit like teenage lovebirds in some ways, that’s pretty common for shifter mates in most books I’ve read. All in all I enjoyed the book and plan to read the next one eventually.

This was a fun read. A completely new view on Dragon's or should I say Drakaina's. Raven combined 2 of my favorite genres. Paranormal with Dragon's and military. I look forward to reading more by Raven Lovelace.

Drakaina's Fire by Raven Lovelace.
Drak Defense Co. Book 1.
Daphne
My existence is one of constant danger. I am the oldest, the leader of a race of immortal warrior women. We are the stuff of myth and legend, with the ability to shift into powerful beings, The Drakaina. But now we are being hunted by Apollo's Champions, our greatest enemy from times long past, who we had thought stamped out of existence over a hundred years ago.
Everett
Daphne Drak is the defense contractor I'm assigned to investigate, and I never fail at my assignments. All part of making sure the taxpayers are getting what they paid for. At thirty-five, I’m the youngest General in the history of the armed forces. I'm used to getting my way. But this woman won't even return my calls, even as she sets my blood on fire with her emerald eyes and luscious curves.
I really enjoyed this book. Loved the little dragons pictures in the book. Can't wait for the next book. 5*.
