Unfortunately I was unable to download the book in time before the archive date. I've read the first four of this series and I really liked them.

When Beth’s mother’s bridge partner is poisoned, Beth can’t figure out why someone would want to do the sweet man in. With several suspects, she plans to reenact the day to try to figure out who poisoned the man. But when’s Beth’s mother starts to choke on her tea, will she survive or will Beth fold and hope no one else is harmed in the process.

I adore this series…it’s truly quality and cozy. Beth is easy to relate to and the other characters are varied enough to provide humor and support throughout the books. This is the sixth book in the series, which is being republished under different names for a more global market than just the UK. I’m glad they did this as I likely wouldn’t have found the series otherwise, and it’s not to be missed!

This is book number six I. This series, but it is the third book I have read…I caught up quickly with Beth and her murders and mayhem…love and romance…family and friends…career…did I mention love? The protagonist is a likable, quirky character with an attitude of …it will be okay…she is fun to read about…I like 5is book…it was sent to me by Netgalley for review…

I am a huge fan of this series, but this instalment, to me, is the weakest. There is still much to enjoy here; Beth and her relationships with her family and friends are still a joy and her constant working mother guilt is well written. I still miss Nina though, and hope she plays a big role in the next book. I think there is too much Bridge terminology here, which made my eyes glaze over somewhat. The awful Belinda isn’t in this one much either and I surprisingly missed her. I also thought the murderer’s motive was a little thin and it wasn’t really explained how they knew it was her. Still love the way the relationship with Harry is presented.

Senior Shenanigans…
The sixth in the Beth Haldane series of mysteries finds Beth deep in death when a senior Bridge club member is found dead and it’s not natural. Alfie, the victim, just happens to be her mother’s Bridge partner - it follows that Beth cannot resist the lure of this particular investigation. A re-enactment of the murder, however, is to bring potentially serious consequences. Another delightful murder mystery in the cosy vein with a likeable protagonist in Beth, a well placed setting and a nicely crafted supporting cast of characters. A worthy addition to this enjoyable series. (Note that this was previously published as The Body in Belair Park)
