A beautiful story about losing trust and love and setting out to regain both.
I loved Christie’s description of all the characters, made me feel like I wanted to be part of community.
When Felicity comes home to Heartcross after losing her beloved Gran she thinks she can never repair the damage she done to her first love Fergus.
A disaster strikes the village and felicity is formed right back into the local community.
Can’t wait to read the next one. Just beautiful
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this lovely book.

An absolutely lovely read, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Great characters who you soon learned to love. Tragedy in the past needs to be overcome for everyone to get on with their lives, and being cut off from the outside world in a small village gives plenty of time for thinking. Fab story.

I loved this book from Christie Barlow, I haven't read anything by her before but will certainly be on the lookout now. Felicity lives in London, but finding out her grandmother has passed away she decides to return to the Scottish Highlands to be with her mum. Only retuning also means she must face the friends, and the love, she left behind eight years ago.

It was refreshing to read about Felicity who has a get-it-done attitude, and tried to make up for her past mistakes. She isn't flawless, which is nice to read because too often rom coms main characters are either perfect or ditsy. The love interest is complex, as are the friendships, and there is also a lot about village life, with some twists and turns, that makes this so interesting.

I have two teeny criticisms, but not enough to mark it down from 5 stars. Firstly, that the grandmother had passed away, but then once Felicity got back to Scotland there was no conversation about arranging a funeral, and the book spanned about 2 months (I think) so that subject would definitely have come up. Secondly, Felicity not taking no for an answer was a good quality, but with Fergus I wish she had just given him a little bit more space at times. But overall, a really enjoyable book! Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book but I did find myself being irritated by flick. On saying that I do look forward to looking up the other books in the series as I did enjoy it.

Love Heart Lane — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book just does what it says on the cover, it’s full of warmth, family spirit and has a real feed good factor.

I really enjoyed this book it was a very easy read. I don’t know about you but sometimes an easy read just makes everything feel right in the world. I didn’t need to think to much about it, I didn’t need to be thinking ahead and wondering where the book will take me.. I just appreciated the book for what it is and I’m so happy I read it!

Honestly I really did enjoy this book and would really recommend this if you just need something cute and warm to listen to doing random daily tasks!

Narrated by Charlie Mudlin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Story by Christie Barlow ⭐⭐⭐
I struggled to get into this book. I didn't particularly like the story or the characters, but in saying that I found myself wanting to try this author again so I brought Foxglove Farm from the Kindle store.

Awful narration, comes across condescending, more suited to kids novels. I'm Scottish myself and love supporting other Scottish workers but its not a good tone for an adult read.

DNF.

I’m sorry to say that I dnf this audiobook . I couldn’t get on with the narrator unfortunately and I found the voice very whiny and irritating.

Thank you NetGalley, Christie Barlow and HarperCollins UK Audio for Love Heart Lane. This is my personal review.
This is the first book in the Love Heart Lane series. I have read several of the books in the series and have listened to the first one in the series on audio.
I enjoyed listening to the narrator, Charlie Mudlin. She made me feel like I was right on Love Heart Lane.
Felicity has returned to her hometown of Heartcross. She feels at home, but she knows there is one person in the town, Fergus who may not be so glad to see her. The history between the two can be felt as the story was being read on audio to me.
I am so glad I have others in the series to read! The author has done a splendid job of making me care about everyone in the book.

This is a book to be read in front of a roaring fire with a cup of hot chocolate - and if you can’t do that then let this book transport you to a place of comfort and warmth. It’s a story of Flick leaving London for a quick visit to the Scottish Highlands - but that quick visit changes and the ensuing storyline is a treat of a tale.

Such a great, feel good, heart warming story of the community of Heartcross! They face disasters, worry, camaraderie, coming together and strength in the face of adversity. After a grade II listed bridge collapses in a storm, the only way in and out of the secluded village is cut off. Felicity, recently returned from London, rises to the challenge to help and hoping secretly she can also win back the heart of Fergus.

It really felt like a homecoming and the people of Heartcross were so bouncy and likeable. I loved them all immediately. I instantly started rallying around felicity and the whole book was just a delight to listen to. The audiobook was effortless and so easy to slip into; really brought to life by the amazing narrator.

It was action packed and so entertaining. I loved the story and was really rooting for felicity despite the fact that she kept pushing and putting her foot in it! I was so eager to see it all work out for the best and I raced through it. It really was brilliant and a wonderful listen with the audiobook. I loved it!

For Flick (Felicity) the shine has gone off living in London and she now wants to return to the Scottish Highlands and to the village of Heartcross where she is from. But 8 years ago Flick left without saying goodbye to her friends or even her boyfriend Fergus and hasn’t been in touch with any of them since. What will their reactions be on her return? And how will her mother be after looking after her grandmother who has just passed away? This is my first Christie Barlow audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it left me with a real warm and fuzzy feeling. A gorgeous narration from Charlie Mudlin who transports us into this winter wonderland - my only tiny criticism being that the book cover depicts a summer scene when in fact the whole story is a snow setting! This audiobook is out on the 1st of September. Thank you Harper Collins and Netgalley for my gifted copy
