This book is an alphabet text about bugs, but it also rhymes. The letters are large and colourful, as is the font. The text is large and accessible, in a printed style of font that is clear and easy to read. Punctuation and capitals do not follow the correct rules when it comes to the beginning of new lines, but otherwise the text is a good model for proper writing. The bugs are large and detailed, but still look fun and cartoonish. I think this is a great book for children who are preparing to be able to read. It reinforces alphabet, letter sounds and rhyming, which are all pre-reading skills. As a grade 3 teacher, I would recommend this book to parents of children in the age 3-6 range. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

Some of the pics are adorable and lend themselves to the style where creatures are given happy little faces. Other pics just look amateur. I love books about bugs and entomology, especially for kids, but this one has some inaccuracies (grasshoppers can fly for very long distances), weird capitalization (In is often capitalized in the middle of a line/sentence, and it's out of place). Many of the rhymes are clunky and forced. It's a cute book, but it has too many problems for me to stock it. There are too many better bug books out there.

Adorable ABC book for young kids! Each letter describes a different bug and something about them like their appearance, behavior, or environment. I liked the rhyming scheme and how it's a little more advanced than a typical ABC book. Toddlers who love bugs will enjoy this one and learning about insects!
