Oooooh. This book. I liked to write up (the very brief line or two I read, I like to know as little as possible), and figured a thriller would be right up my alley and boy, did Willingham deliver that in spades!

The book gets right into it - baby Mason has been missing for a year, mother Isabelle is desperate to keep his case alive, and her life has fallen apart from this. Then there’s the insomnia and slowly but surely this links into her dark, secretive past, creating a tense atmosphere. The story barrels along and touches on some dark subjects (mom guilt, societal expectations, etc.) and is littered with flawed characters, it’s so engaging! I liked the way the story flipped back and forth - never too frequently to be frustrating, and never too long that you lose the thread of the story. The last third of the book is where Willingham truly ramps up the story and the pace.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good thriller and solid story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 page turning stars.

After my last book that had to give up on, this one is a great example of a book to keep you guessing. I thought I had it sussed but the author keeps you on your toes and with a few twists and turns you reach a conclusion that I didn’t see coming.

I’ll definitely read more by the author.

Brilliant book! Plenty of suspense and intrigue. I veered from being certain mum was guilty to being certain she wasn't in equal measure.

Thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for the advanced digital copy of this book- our in February 2023.
I enjoyed Stacy Willingham’s debut novel - Flicker in the Dark and this was a highly anticipated read for me and it far exceeded my expectations!
A definite 5 star read- it’s a story of a mother struggling to come to terms with the abduction of her son Mason one year earlier. It’s the relationships that evolve and unfold along the way, the elements of her past that we see glimpses of, and complex themes that are delicately addressed within Isabelle’s journey.
There’s plenty of twists and turns and some unexpected reveals that all culminate in a shock ending.

I enjoyed A Flicker in the Dark and was delighted to receive an arc of the current novel. Dark and disturbing, the narrative was very slow in places which detracted from my emotional investment in the novel. A satisfying read and a sensitive denoument.

Oh wow this book just blew my mind as it left me just staring at the kindle when the reveals began to happen so if you want a book to have your jaw dropping to the the ground more than once then this one is it…. I thought the authors first book “A Flicker in the Dark“ was good but this one surpassed it and more.
The story revolves around Isabelle Drake a year after her toddler son Mason was abducted from his cot in the night with virtually no evidence of a break in found and both Isabelle and her husband not hearing anything.
This is a heart wrenching story at times done in a caring manner as Isabelle deals with her loss and the growing feeling that she is somehow missing something, she spend her days and nights investigating every minor detail and as she delves deeper into her past the more worrying things become.
I loved the book it started off slowly but bit by bit the tension started to wrack up, twists occurred and I was engrossed in trying to figure out just where the story was going. The ending was a surprise for me and that really made it a 5 star read and one that I would highly recommend. Many thanks to Stacy Willingham for another fabulous well crafted read from a very talented writer.
My thanks also to NetGalley and Harper Collins Uk for giving me the opportunity to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is.a carefully contrived story that will certainly keep you reading. Isabelle Drake is a deeply disturbed woman suffering from sleeplessness since the loss of her sister Margaret. She believes she took Margaret out while sleep walking and caused her death. Then she marries a man with whom she has been having an affair and whose wife has just committed suicide. As if that was not enough, their son Mason disappears from his bed during the night. She sets out on a task to discover who took him. The story has many twists and turns even if the end is fairly predictable. It is difficult for a reader to develop much sympathy with Isabelle given her contribution to all the problems. It is a good read though and I recommend it.

A deeply disturbing story which kept me riveted until the very end. Beautifully written but prepared for a shocking conclusion.

Isabelle Drake’s son, Mason, has been missing for almost a year, and she will do anything and everything in her power to find out what happened to him.

Out of desperation, to try and keep her son's story alive, she attends true crime events as a guest speaker, trying to gather clues, and keep interest in the case. At one such event she meets with true crime podcaster Waylon Spencer. He says he wants to tell her story on his podcast, and help her reach a bigger audience, and help her find out what happened to her son. But Isabelle starts to have flashes of long forgotten memories from her childhood, and doubts as to what really happened starts to creep in. On top of this Isabelle becomes suspicious of those trying to help her.

This was a story full of drama and suspense. We, along with Isabelle don’t know who to trust, including Isabelle herself at some points. It is a dark read, chronicling a mothers spiral into despair as she refuses to accept the loss of her child. Some characters are a bit hard to fathom, the detective in charge of the missing child case for example, seems to be very blasé about a missing child. But overall it is an excellent read, that will have you guessing until the end.

*I received this copy from NetGalley for review, but all opinions are my own.

I’m pleased to report to have been wildly off the mark with my guesses about what happened here, and that really is testimony to the plotting and execution of the story.
Isabelle Drake is a woman struggling. One year ago her toddler son disappeared from his bedroom. There has been no trace of him, and Isabelle is convinced that in some corners she is blamed for what happened. Her marriage has broken up and she is having difficulty sleeping. After talking at a true crime convention Isabelle meets with someone involved in a podcast. She wants to tell her story, though she fears telling it might incriminate her in some way.
As we become more immersed in Isabelle’s story we learn details of her past that lead us to believe she might have been involved. She has memories of events in her past that strongly implicate her.
From the moment we start to learn more about Isabelle and her history, it was hard to gauge where this was going. There were snippets that would hint at the story going one way, and then we’d shift into an alternate place. It was genuinely hard to pinpoint quite which details were pertinent and how we were being manipulated.
I’m grateful to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this prior to publication. A truly satisfying thriller.

Isabella Drake is a mother who's son disappeared from his cot a year ago. While the police have exhausted all potential avenues of investigation, Isabella takes matters into her own hands by joining the 'True Crime circuit'. When she meets a True Crime podcaster who offers her the chance to tell her story, she feels like she is getting somewhere. But it soon becomes clear that there is more to him than meets the eye.

Stacy Willingham has done it again! This book was excellently written and made me want to stay up late to keep reading it. The characters are wonderfully flawed and completely relatable. I really felt Isabella's pain and desperate need to find her child.

My thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for sending me this ARC in return for an honest review.

Isabelle is looking for her son. It's a year since he disappeared from his bedroom.

Was he taken?
Did he wander off?
Is he dead?
Is somebody holding him captive?

It's a fast-paced complex story of who, why and what.

This book was alright but I much preferred the author’s first book. It was fine, but I felt like she could have given a lot more.

It has been 365 days since Isabelle Drake slept. The night her son Mason disappeared. Her was taken in the middle of the night when she and her husband slept. The police has little leads to what happened to him.
Isabelle won’t rest until she finds her son. She walks around in a daze for lack of sleep. Her life is falling apart after her husband left her and moved on. She searches the internet and crime forums every day, to find any new evidence to where her son is. So, when a true-crime podcaster named Waylon gets in touch with her and say that he will help her find her son. She hesitantly agrees.
But nothing is a simple as it seems. The podcaster searches though Isabelle’s background. Especially her childhood when her sister Margaret dies. Her parents told her never to speak of it again. But Isabelle keeps having flashbacks. She keeps doubting herself was she involved? Did she kill her sister? Did she hurt her own son? Isabelle needs to find out the truth. This might put things into perspective and help her find her son.
All the dangerous things by Stacy Willingham is another fabulous book from the author. I read her previous novel and she doesn’t disappoint.
This is an intense, dark thriller regarding one women’s quest to find her child. The is cleverly written, how the author got in the Isabella’s mind, but it even made me a bit paranoid towards certain characters in the story. I thought I knew the outcome, but I was surprised of the conclusion. 5 stars from me.

Well I did not see that coming! Isabelle’s son goes missing from his cot during the night and 1 year later Isabelle is looking for answers and her son. The story starts slowly was a bit bored first couple of chapters however I soon changed my mind and was drawn into the story and very twist and turn left me wanting more. The ending was such a surprise and I did not figure any of it out. Very good book, excellent thriller and highly recommended by me.

Oh my goodness what an amazing read this was. I was unable to put it down wondering what was coming next and desperately wanting to know what happened to Mason. It was heartbreaking at time especially when Isabelle's mother seemed to keep her distance from her. There were so many twists and turns but I could never have guessed the ending. Absolutely wonderful read and so beautifully written.

I read Stacy Willingham's debut novel "A Flicker in the Dark" so I was interested to read "All the Dangerous Things".. I think I preferred her debut but that is personal choice. This is a good book about Isabelle who is trying to find out what happened to her son who disappeared a year ago. Along the way, we find out about her upbringing and how this may influence things in the present, how she met her husband (and his background story, plus we get to the bottom of what happened to her son.

I was reading and enjoying this book immensely, enjoying all of its twists, turns and terribly horrific and potentially dangerous happenings. My head was taking me to scary places.

The first scary place was only seen briefly through a bedroom door. The second heard through a study door. The Patriarch decreed they would not be mentioned again. The third was enough to shatter a family; but something didn't sit right.

Years later our heroine (or is she?) meets Ben. From the beginning he made my skin crawl, even though he seems like a decent guy.

I have no idea how the author transferred words into physical symptoms but she is one of only a few writers who elicit such reactions from me.

Finally happy days. Along comes baby Mason. Then he goes. Why? Where? How? It had to be Ben. Who else could it have been?

Stacey Willingham’s All the Dangerous Things brings to light a parent’s absolute worst nightmare and the all-consuming aftermath to the detriment of the protagonist’s physical and mental health. Do we really know those around us and the stories they believe to be true? A compelling read.
