Goodness me, what a story! I found myself drawn to the tale and it was so hard to have to put it down and get on with everyday life.

The main character is 33 year old Charlie and we don’t know what has gone on for most of the book, but we know his childhood was hard and he’s still struggling emotionally.

His sister Nina and brother Duke don’t really know their older brother very well and they both have issues of their own to deal with.

Pippa lives next door and has been a constant in Nina and Duke’s life. She was also Charlie’s best friend when they were kids.

I loved all the characters, they’d were well written and believable. I felt for Nina and her teenage angst and hormones. Duke comes across as such a lovely little lad and I had a soft spot for him.

It is a difficult story to read and I found it to be quite emotional. It is a tale of love, grief, friendship and secrets. This is definitely one I won’t forget in a hurry.

My thanks to HQ and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This was one of my most anticipated books of the year after reading and loving Henley's other two books the past few months.

Henley's books are gripping right from the start while pulling at my heart like a Colleen Hoover book and this one was no exception.

I loved the family and friends in the book. It was heart breaking and so well done. The characters all developed so well throughout and having each of the siblings' POV added so much to the story. I loved that some chapters were just a quickly blurb because the different POV added so much.

This one took some unexpected turns toward the end but it worked so so well!

Thank you to Netgalley & HQ for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!

Oh my, I am a soggy mess having just finished this brilliant, emotional novel. My husband has watched as I dry tears and blow my nose countless times. I am fortunate to have the time and silence to completely immerse myself into this beautifully heart-breaking and yet emotionally rewarding story. (We are away with no WiFi and no TV so it is perfect reading territory)

At the start of the book I found the time jump quite challenging, as I hadn’t yet invested in the characters or the situation. However, once I reached the start of the story I was transported. Charlie, the main character, deliberately comes across as a confused and emotionally stunted man and as the story progresses, your understanding changes your perspective.

Your heart breaks for Duke and Nina, and the situations they find themselves in, whilst facing their own personal struggles of being different from their peers.

Pippa, the next-door neighbour and childhood friend of Charlie, and Billie the dog, are also integral characters, empathetically integral to the family dynamics.

This story picked me up and whisked me along, helplessly caught up in the plot. The depths of individual grief they are all facing, the secrets they carry and the new fledgling relationship they are trying to develop, create a maelstrom of emotion. My heart broke as they tried to navigate their way through the chaos created. I could feel their loneliness and confusion, not knowing which way to turn.

The plot is filled with timely twists, missed opportunities and decisions to be made. Amelia Henley is so skilled in absorbing the reader into the characters, emotions and plot of the story, I truly felt I knew them all! The main theme of the book is totally and utterly rewarding.

An astounding and richly emotional read!

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This book was an emotional and one I couldn’t put down.

With a 5 year plan, that Charlie has with his girlfriend, one that means he’s moving to New York. Before they go, he looks after his brother and sister on New Year’s Eve, in order for their Mum and Step Dad to go out for the evening.

But, the following day brings some unexpected news, which brings about a change in Charlie’s plans.

The story will break your heart and put it back together, it’ll make you cry and smile.

I recommend this book.

This is the third book by Amelia Henley I have read. I found it a lovely read, a little sad in parts but a lovely happy ending. Pippa for me was the nicest character in the book although I did have a soft spot for Charlie. I have enjoyed all three books that Amelia Henley has written and look forward to more.

'From Now On' is a beautiful, raw and engaging story that was full of surprises. This book is also full of sadness, love and hope. I loved the family Henley has created and getting to follow their journey. This was an engaging read and one I found to be unforgettable.
Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for an advance copy.

A heartbreaking read which I mostly enjoyed but I did struggle in parts, even though the characters were all interesting. I didn't find it as good as The Life we almost Had which was brilliant.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Publishers for this ARC.

A very powerful and gripping story that is difficult to read in some parts but worth sticking with. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

3.5/5.

This is the first book I have read by this author, it won’t be the last.

Charlie’s got a five year plan. He is about to move to New York with his girlfriend, leaving everything and everyone behind. When a tragedy strikes and leaves his siblings orphaned, Charlie has to decide whether to continue with his five year plan or step up and be there for his grieving family.

A good book. An emotional and heartwarming read.

When Charlie is babysitting his younger brother and sister his parents are killed in a terrible accident.
A slow moving story about family and choices.
I couldn’t connect with a lot of the characters and found the younger generation irritating.

Pippa is by far the best of the characters in this book with her warmth radiating from every page she appears on. The other characters are somewhat less lustrous in her shadow and could do with a little more fleshing out but the story line is a good one, with the chance for some self-examination for Charlie in both priorities and in what love really means.

I really loved Amelia Henley's first book - absolutely beautiful read, and her psychological thrillers are incredible. Which is why it's very difficult to write a review of this one when it just didn't live up to her other books. I didn't feel connected to the characters, which for me is the hook, no matter the storyline. The chapters written from the youngest characters point of view alternated from making it clear big words were difficult, to using complicated words to describe things, and the main character's personality just didn't quite come through

This is a hard review to write, and I don’t know if it’s because I read a lot from this genre of book, but sadly this book just didn’t work for me.
I really struggled to bond with Charlie, Nina and Duke even though I kept telling myself that I should feel for these characters due to what they had gone through, there was just something that stopped this from happening. I’m not sure if it was because we found out pretty quickly what happened to the parents, and I didn’t get chance to get a feel fully for their backgrounds or what it was really. I did feel like the short sentences throughout the book stemmed the flow though, so maybe this contributed to that for me too.
I did like that the chapters were from each characters POV, but I began to feel heavy as the story went on when I read a certain characters chapter because they just felt like they drained me unfortunately.
I did really like Pippa, her character brought a warmth too it for me and as she came into it more, I did feel myself starting to feel a little bit more for the others, but it did take quite a while for this to happen.
The book did keep me intrigued enough to see what was going to happen and I did enjoy the outcome, it’s just unfortunate that it took so long for the book to have this effect on me.
I’d love to give this book more stars but sadly I just didn’t enjoy it enough to award it more than 2.5 stars 😞

Wow wow wow, just finished Amelia Henley's latest book 'From Now On'. It was amazing. A complete emotional rollercoaster of a novel that I could not put down. Charlie has a 5 year plan with his girlfriend, which involves moving to New York, but before he goes he agrees to babysit his siblings on New Year's Eve, so his Mum and Step Dad can go away for the evening. The next day they receive some unexpected news, which turns all Charlie's plans upside down. This novel will break your heart and slowly piece it back together. I cried, I smiled, I got angry and I enjoyed every second with the complicated characters. Definitely a must read and 5 stars from me.

Thank u to netgalley for the oppurtunity to read this Amelia Henley book.
As an Amelia Henley/Louise Jensen fan i knew this was going to be going straight to the top of my to be read pile.
As always Amelia does not disappoint. This is a beautiful read which really shows the beauty of how special family is. This book was full of highs and lows but ultimately it really does focus on how important family is. I was really good and I didnt cry at this one. It did leave me choked up a few times though. I do love Amelias books, she really is good at focusing on the small details that really make you feel the emotion within the book. I definitely felt an emotional connection with the characters and what they were going through and i was rooting for them all because they all deserved a happy ending. I wont say if they did get their happy ending, youll have to read it to find out yourself. Definitely give this one a read, Amelia has yet again done an amazing job of writing a beautiful story that will pull all your heart strings. I recommend reading this one if you loved her other reads

There are some parts of this story that had me reaching for the tissues and parts that made me smile. It’s beautifully written but that’s what readers have come to expect from Amelia/ Louise.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I didn't think this book was as good as the previous two. This book takes a couple who die on New Year's Eve. The oldest son, Charlie has to decide if he wants to live his life or raise his siblings. I felt it was rather slow and dragged out in the middle. Parts were predictable, but parts were definitely not! It was still good, just not as fast paced or as shocking as her others.
