This was so cute??? What a truly adorable trope and what a delightful story. I was grinning at my screen the whole time. The grappling with their emotions in silence, the desperation to keep each other happy for entirely different reasons, the lost-love-come-back (but in a very unusual way). This was seriously such a lovely read and I enjoyed every moment of it.

I thought this story was so cute! Super clever idea for a book, but a bit predictable. I was still really involved in the story and felt like it read very quickly. I can’t imagine thinking you’re divorced and your husband doesn’t remember. Overall, I really enjoyed it!

What if you could get an actual second chance at a failed relationship?

It wasn’t even on her radar to hope for, but when Meyer gets a call from the local hospital that’s exactly what she gets.

Her ex husband Archie had left a year ago, after a final big fight. Moved from their home in Oregon down to Arizona, and didn’t look back.
No further contact, they didn’t even to sign the divorce papers in person.

That call from the hospital tells her he’s back though. It turns out he never changed his emergency contact, and he just crashed his plane in their mutual friend’s back yard.
The accident left him mostly okay physically, but without the last two years of memories.
As far as he knows they’re still happily married and with the doctor advising no big shocks and a wait and see approach to see if his memories come back on their own…Meyer decides to play along, to a point. Even if she’s pretty sure this will only end in heartbreak. Again.

It’s a tough line to toe, a real life brain injury is no joke, but I think the author did well with balancing the humor and the heart of this story. The situation they find themselves in is always a bit ridiculous, and sometimes quite funny - Margaret and her plans, including bocce extreme! But there’s the always present undercurrent of legitimate worry on Meyer’s part that Archie will leave her with an even bigger chunk of her heart missing when his memory comes back, and the concern those closest to her have (even if some involved are pushing hard for a reconciliation)

Such an interesting premise for a book! I was hooked by the description and enjoyed the light-hearted read. Funny and great characters--it was a good one!

This is my new FAVORITE by Carina Taylor, and one of my favorite books I've read this year period. It is FUNNY and heartwarming and achingly sweet. Meyer receives a phone call one day informing her that her husband, Archie, is in the hospital. There's just one problem-Meyer and Archie are divorced. When she arrives, she is advised by a doctor Archie has amnesia and believes they are still happily married; the best course of action would be for Meyer to take him home and allow him to remember on his own time. I was immediately intrigued by the plot and teasers, and the story was even better than expected. There are so many good scenes in this book as Archie slowly (and unknowingly) starts to take Meyer's walls down and reminds her of why she married a man she never really got over in the first place, Meyer also balances her new-again housemate with a potential expansion of her button business. Everything culminates in fantastic hijinks reminiscent of the famous Friends scene "They know we know they know we know!" (Also, now I finally know why Carina Taylor keeps talking about avocados on Instagram, and I love it). If you're looking for a (closed door) second-chance, forced proximity romance with a side of amnesia, this is the book for you! This book releases on November 10.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book I received from the author. All opinions expressed above are my own.

I love Carina Taylor’s books and have found them to be very cute and funny. This one, however, fell flat for me. It’s about a second chance marriage, after the ex husband gets in an accident and winds up with amnesia and thinks he’s still happily married, not one year divorced. This one lacked the laugh out loud moments I’ve come to expect in Carina’s books. I also just really did not feel any connection between the couple. I didn’t get a clear sense of why they got divorced in the first place. I was hoping for some angst between them that I also didn’t see until a bit at the very end. I think if it had been dual POV I might have gotten a better feel from the husband. I struggled to get through it, and kept putting it down out of boredom.

I wanted to love this book so badly. The premise of this book was so good and I love the second chance romance trope but this sadly just didn’t do it for me. Good idea but not executed in the best way

I’m giving this 2 stars simply for the vision. Someone recommended this book to me as a spin on the book “You deserve each other” and it was promising initially. Several times throughout the book I thought the book would start NOW…. and it just .. didn’t. It didn’t click for me. The prose was…. something on its own. I couldn’t feel the angst and chemistry the author was trying to portray. They were both really annoying and there wasn’t enough communication between them, no real bond despite being married for several years.

I wish i’d liked this, only because the premise was really interesting, but I had to drag myself through it :/

I am a sucker for second chance romance so it was no surprise that I enjoyed this book. This was such a fun and light-hearted read that was the perfect blend of romance and comedy.

Meyer and Archie are so lovable not only as a couple but as individuals. Seeing their growth as individuals and then coming back together as a couple was my favorite part of this story. Their back-and-forth antics and chemistry are insane and kept me smiling the entire time.

I do feel like the plot was a bit rushed at point and would have loved to go a little more in-depth with the two working on their relationship. The writing also feels a bit juvenile as times with Meyer adding in quips that felt unnecessary to me.

Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone who loves second chance romance, fun banter between the main couple, and romcoms!

Thank you to Netgalley & the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review! :)

This book was cute, fast-paced, and easy to read. The plot follows Meyer and Archie who have been divorced for around a year, but when Archie's plane crashes he suffers from retrograde amnesia - thinking he and Meyer are still happily married.

I really like the concept of this book and really enjoyed reading it. I feel it was slightly rushed and would have benefitted from perhaps being a bit slower-paced.

I gave this 3 stars but it is more around 3.5/3.75 stars :)

4.5 stars.
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It was funny and quick witted.
Archie was great as the amnesiac husband and Meyer as his ex wife.
I dont know if I'd handle the same situation as well as she did.
The humor was well placed and it wrapped up nicely.
Thanks NetGalley.

This book was fantastic in all regards. I was so invested in these characters and their journey, and really was rooting for them.

I think the pacing for this was incredible and this book was written very well, the second chance trope can be a hit or miss sometimes but this was done so well and i really had fun reading this.

Overall i wish we got to see some more scenes of what they were like in the beginning or how they fell in love just to get an idea of their relationship development, and another thing is, although the fight they had was pretty intense i wish there was just a bit more angst involved. But still a great book regardless.

I kinda loooooved this book! I loved the story between Archie and Meyer. They showed that sometimes two people can love each other and still need time away from each other to grow up. Obviously, we'd love to grow alongside our partners but sometimes small things stayed buried for long that when it comes out it can end things. I wish there was some spicy moments between these two aside from the kisses, HOWEVER, I very much enjoyed their chemistry. Wished it was a little longer!

I really recommend this amazing book!

💍 Romantic comedy that reads super fast and is extremely entertaining
💍 It will be published in English on November 10th. I hope we have the translation soon
💍 I found it quite addictive from the beginning. I wanted to find out if Meyer would screw up at some point 😂
💍 Also, you as a reader don't know exactly why the marriage ended and you NEED to know
💍 The secondary characters I think have the right weight in the story, they complement it very well
💍 There are moments of tension between Meyer and Archie 🔥
💍 I really liked the ending, worthy of a movie 🤭
💍 If you like romance books without excessive drama and have fun, this could be a good book 👌

this book was such an easy-and-quick read. it's my first time trying this author and I really enjoyed it.

This book was cute, heartwarming and full of humor! Reading it was so fund an I was still thinking about Meyer and Archie even after I'd finished. The plot was interesting and had me hooked from the moment it started. I'm not normally a sucker for the amnesia plot but I absolutely loved it here. I loved seeing them mature and talk through problems that they'd had to rekindle their love for each other.

Archie was so sweet and the way he was with Meyer was so cute. I felt that they were absolutely perfect for each other and the way they matched each others banter was amazing. I would definitely recommend this book!!!

I like the premise of the book - the MC Meyer having her ex husband lose memory through an accident and the doctor suggesting that she pretend that they are still married to help repair his memory. Personally, I would have said no to having my ex living with me, but due to Meyer's character, she wanted to do the right thing for her ex Archie's recovery. All the feelings/emotions from her previous marriage and divorce were going to surface as she navigated this particularly odd situation, so I found it relatable. I don't know that I could pretend to be married and hide a secret of divorce (even though technically it's not a secret) and have everyone you know pretend that also.

I particularly liked Meyer having the opportunity to follow her dreams and grow as a person after her divorce. Not sure that she may have done this during her marriage, but the separation made her an independent individual in becoming her own person. Sometimes being with one self is where the best growth occurs to know what you want for yourself.

I enjoyed this read and thought it was really well paced. It's one of those books that you can finish in 1 day. Definitely one for those loving amnesia, second chance love and forced proximity tropes.

This book had me constantly wanting to read more. Bringing your ex-husband home is not an easy feat and Meyer handles it well. I couldn’t get enough of Meyer and Archie’s playful banter. I enjoyed how the author allowed Meyer to grow into herself during the book. Looking forward to more books by Carina Taylor.

I fell in love with Meyer and Archie. But as the story came to a close, I began to think that it was going on pointlessly. Her earring business, Archie's play about amnesia, and her random "I can't stand up for myself" performance. Never truly understood their divorce or how they reconciled, either. It was merely something that was present without any justification. Though I did appreciate the majority of this book.

This book was a quick and easy read - I could have read it in one sitting if I had the ability to read all day!

What I loved:
- The premise: amnesiac ex husband? Sounds hilarious and similar to Overboard. Sign me up.
- Second-chance romance trope - I’m a sucker for this plot. It gets me every time, and I love reading about how the past influences the future.
- Meyer’s breezy narration style - Meyer felt like a girl I could hang out with. Her narration style was approachable and honest.
- Quick chapters - short chapters give me a good stopping point. I hate stopping in the middle of a chapter, so shorter chapters make it easier on me!
- Humor* - especially in the first 25% of the book, I was laughing a lot!

What wasn’t completely working for me:
- The main characters, while likable, were lacking in depth. A lot of their “growth” took place off page, before the book started.
- Lack of drama - We have the perfect groundwork for drama with this plot line, but from the minute Meyer brings Archie home from the hospital, it’s marriage as usual, and a happy one at that! Meyer could have done *a lot* more to make Archie’s life miserable, and Archie certainly could have done the same. As much as I felt like this lack of drama made it a light and easy read, I was really craving some drama. Even the big fight that Meyer alludes to throughout the book isn’t even that big of a fight, in the grand scheme of things.
- Lack of humor after the first 25% - Again, we have the perfect groundwork for hilarity with this plot line, but even when Meyer is *actively* trying to make Archie’s life miserable, she sends him on a trip to the grocery store and then makes him go line dancing. But there was room for so much more!
- Lots of characters that didn’t really contribute to the storyline - The tension between Willa and Kingston Meade me wonder if there was going to be a follow-up book about them, and I’m not always a huge fan of that move. (That’s just my opinion, though.)

If you’re looking for a book with steam, keep looking. This one was definitely sweet, but not steamy!

If you’re in need of a light and breezy read, this is the one for you!
