QOTD: Would you rather fly or drive a long distance?
My A: Drive! I LOVE road trips and having my own safe space while away from home.
.
My first Carina Taylor book and I really loved it! I went in totally blind, ,,,,,and since it was an ARC, that means I didn’t even know what the cover looked like.... All of this to say, I had no expectations of what was to come.
I’ll be honest, I typically avoid the amnesia trope, which is where going into this blind was a benefit. I could get past my own dumb judgment and really give this book a chance. I loved the premise and I have never read a book with the amnesia plot played out quite like this so it was fun to read. Speaking of fun, I laughed throughout. I wish we could’ve seen more - any - of the character’s growth. It all took place off page and was barely even spoken about. We were just told they’d changed, and that was that. We didn’t really even get much of an explanation for their original demise. And what happened to Meyer was just.... Never talked about again. SA bomb dropped and then never discussed again.
Does this all mean I didn’t enjoy this book? Nope! I binged this in one sitting and I can see myself pulling this off the shelves for a re-read someday so take that as you will!

Thank you to Netgalley & the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review!
This book deserves wayyy more hype. Loved this easy, small read.

This was a super quick and quirky read! The description for 'Forget Me Twice' immediately had me hooked. Archie and Meyer were a super cute couple, and I enjoyed reading about them finding their way back together. There were quite a few moments that had me in my feels and many moments that had me laughing out loud!
I am glad that Meyer and Archie could work through their issues and that the time apart was good for them to mature. However, I feel like we did not get into the nitty gritty of their relationship/problems. When the reason why they got divorced was revealed - I was honestly expecting a more significant conflict. So their divorce felt a little unrealistic.
Regardless, Forget Me Twice had super lovable characters and a cute storyline. I think I would enjoy reading more from Carina Taylor in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this arc. All opinions are my own.

finally finally finally a romance book that brought me all the joy😍😍😍
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for approving my request for this book!
Meyer and Archie divorced more than a year ago. Archie had a plane crash and the first person who got contacted about the accident is Meyer. The main problem is that Archie suffers from amnesia and he doesn’t remember at least the last two years of his life ergo he still thinks that he and Meyer are married. Meyer got the information for Archie’s successful recovery that she needs to kept going with the last memory of his until he finally will remember everything including their ugly divorce. Until then let’s pretend!
Let me tell you that forgetful Archie was so funny and smooooooth. Like all his flirts with Meyer left me giggling like an idiot???? when he got jealous???? over his friend??? He got me. Such a good book boyfriend.
Meyer was such an adorable and lovable woman. Literally a heart made of gold. I liked her development, she wanted to be a better person and she made a movement to be better and greater. I loved how they changed over the year and I felt like this is a second chance romance that truly deserves a second chance.
I was sad that their new-first kiss was not very well written and they just jumped on each other’s throats out of nowhere. The lying part didn’t stick with me well but for the outcome it’s absolutely worth it.
And cmooooon smoooth Archie. I just can’t let it go. Far the best book I’ve read in October.
If you love second chance romance, and don’t mind amnesia as an other trope please please please pick up this book.

Carina Taylor never disappoints. Her books are like warm hugs to me and this one was just the same. This book has Taylor Jenkins Reid vibes to it and I loved that. The pacing was the best part of this book, it didn’t get slow like usual and the characters were so well developed. Meyer and Archie’s story is a must read!

What’s a girl to do with an amnesiac ex-husband at her breakfast table?
When my local hospital calls to say “I’m sorry to tell you this, but your husband has been in an accident” I try to explain the basics to them.
1. I am not married—anymore. (Archie Dunmore is a thing of the past.)
2. If there’s a husband in the hospital, it’s not mine.
Except Archie is back, and he's been in an accident. One that has left him with amnesia. Yup. He believes we’re still happily married. Oh joy.
This story was well written, funny, and overall purely entertaining! I love how the characters just dealt the hand that was laid before them and i found myself rooting for them from the start. A lovely rainy day read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.
This was so cute!! The back and forth between them and watching them re fall in love was just 😭😭
My only critique is the ending felt a little rushed (whereas the rest of the book had good pace). I wanted more development and build up to the final decision.
Overall cute book though! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book!
Forget Me Twice was so easy to read. It was a quick, cute romance. I loved that it was a second chance romance and that the characters were relatable.
I found myself finishing the book before I knew it. I enjoyed reading about the ins and outs of the relationship the MCs shared together.

3.5 rounded to 4 stars Thank you to Netgalley for the e-ARC, this was an enjoyable second chance romance with forced proximity. Meyer has to take care of her ex-husband Archie after he loses his memory from a plane crash. When Archie’s mother (sneakily) doesn’t come back to get her son it is up to Meyer to take him in and help him regain his memories, except she can’t let him flat out know that they’ve been divorced and separated for two years.
Along they way the two learn to love one another again and rebuild their relationship whilst uncovering the things they never said before their break up. I liked that this book focused on how both Meyer and Archie played a part in their break up and that they acknowledged this without making it seem one sided. I just wish there was more angst in this book but it was overall fluffy and a clean read if you’re not into smut.
Absolutely loved Gatsby the cat, he was a great side character even if he was just a pet!

When Archie’s plan crashes in Meyer’s friend’s backyard, he suffers a concussion and forgets they are divorced. Meyer nurses him back to health, all the while struggling with her rekindled feelings for her ex. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to be an early reader in exchange for my review.

Forget Me Twice was a fun quick read, perfect for when you want a second chance romance with a bit of a twist! The two main characters, Meyer and Archie, were relatable (although I am still puzzling out how much money Archie needed to buy a plane) and engaging. The story flowed well, providing enough information about their relationship before the divorce, their time apart, and their current situation to pull you through the story. The secondary characters were a wonderful addition to the book, and really made the community come alive. Would love to see more books about the side characters of this tale (and to check in with how Meyer and Archie are doing).

This book was fun to read, cute, and easy to read.
The idea behind this book is great, and I had a great time reading it. I was quite excited when I read the blurb. I haven't read many books that use the amnesia trope, so I was interested to see how the narrative would develop. I regret not really loving this book, though. There wasn't much depth to it.
Given that this is a second chance romance for a divorced couple, I anticipated some conflict and struggle between the two. However, we received none of that. The cause for their separation isn't truly revealed until the final five chapters, and even then, it's still not quite clear. It felt a little rushed to me and may have benefited from going a little more slowly.
Thank you to Netgalley & the publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Such an interesting storyline! It had me discussing it with my husband wondering what we thought we’d do. I have so many thoughts but fear they will give away too many spoilers. What would you do if your ex-spouse returns to your life as a better person? Knowing you fear they will regain their memory and hurt you again? But what if you, too, grew up and were a better person? What a predicament and what a love story. I enjoyed it and feel it’s one I’ll bring up in the future. If also recommend this book for a bookclub. Would make for an interesting discussion!

Synopsis:
Have you ever brought your ex-husband home and pretended to still be married? Yeah, me either. When my local hospital calls to tell me that my husband has been in an accident, I try to explain the basics to them.
1) I am not married—anymore. (Archie Dunmore is a thing of the past.)
2) If there’s a husband in the hospital, it’s not mine.
Except Archie is back, and he’s been in an accident. One that has left him with amnesia. Yup. He believes we’re still happily married. Oh joy. Too bad for me, the doctor believes it would be best for Archie to remember things on his own. He needs familiar surroundings to heal. No big shocks. No emotional trauma. Which means I can’t tell him the truth. And so I bring my ex-husband home until I can figure out how to ship him safely home to Arizona. (If only my post office allowed live packages…) Archie bursts back into my life with all the warmth and joy of a freshly married man, confident that I’m the love of his life, and determined to fix the rift between us. Having a loving husband in my house is getting awkward. Especially when Archie is desperately trying to remember what I’ve worked so hard to forget. How do I tell him that he walked out on me?

Review:
Archie and Myer are delightful and funny in the midst of trying to figure themselves out together as a couple and on their own. This is a great device the author uses to force proximity and conversations that would've been weird for a divorced couple to have without it. I really liked the characters and found them to be what kept me going chapter after chapter.

3.5⭐️
This was a fun, short and sweet read. I feel like there was some build up to steam but no on-page spice, which took me aback but was fine. I liked the initial premise a lot but I feel like we could have spent longer with the amnesia before we moved on to the next part of the plot – because of that, it felt a bit like not much happened and then suddenly the book was ending after some long paragraphs in the final few chapters that bordered on info dumpy.
There were quite a few clunky sentences and generally I felt that this could have benefitted from a thorough copy edit, especially the ending where those bigger walls of speech were found. However, it was readable and an easy read.

Reader’s Notes:
– this is mainly told from Meyer’s point of view
– there is some innuendo
– there is talk of substance abuse (alcohol) and assault (past events)
– there is one fade to black scene (nothing happens beforehand, just mentions she’s only in a towel and his shirt is unbuttoned)
– there are about 13 curse words (variations of the ‘a’ word for a donkey’s butt; sometimes used to refer to a person’s butt)
Review:
Whenever I need a good laugh, I know that Carina Taylor’s books will provide it! There were so many humorous moments in this story, and not all of them had to do with Archie’s amnesia. I loved all the characters in this story and roles they played in Archie & Meyer’s getting back together (but especially the old lady who wanted to just bonk Archie on the head!). I don’t know what kind of person Archie was prior to the divorce, but he was so sweet and attentive in this story! I loved his pride and support of Meyer in everything she did (even if it was making a subpar meal). I loved that he had a sunny disposition (unless he had to do something on doctor’s orders…like rest) and took everything in stride. I loved their cat, Gatsby, and his role in their lives (he’s pretty much a prince!). Some of the other things I enjoyed in this story include: Archie with Meyer’s niece and nephews, the avocado, Archie’s doodles, the pepper spray incident, a dreaded ride, a community game night, and when he knows, but not that they know (you’ll get it when you read the story!).
Summary:
When Meyer gets a phone call from the hospital claiming that her husband is there, she thinks it’s a joke. She doesn’t have a husband (at least, not anymore) and he doesn’t even live in the same state as her. But apparently the man who broke her heart truly is in her local hospital. And he thinks they are still happily married. Turns out Archie’s accident ended up giving him amnesia, which made him forget the past couple of years. He doesn’t remember their fights, their divorce, or that he went to go live with his parents when they split. And Meyer can’t tell him any of this.
Why? Because Archie’s doctor believes that his mind would heal best if he remembers things on his own in a familiar environment to his current state of mind. Which means Meyer has to take him home and only give him the bare necessary details of what’s happened between them in the time he forgot. So now he knows they had a fight, but not how bad it was. While Meyer is still trying to forget it, Archie is determined to fix the problem and win back the heart of his wife. And Meyer is in danger of falling for him once again. If only he knew…

Meyer gets a call from the hospital after her ex-husband was injured in a plane crash. She is still listed as his next of kin, despite them being divorced. Archie has amnesia and no memory of the divorce, and unfortunately for Meyer, the doctor suggests letting Archie's memories come back naturally instead of delivering the news of the divorce so soon after the trauma.
I loved the premise of this book and the idea of the second chance romance trope. There were some funny moments and it was a quick read, but I just want as invested as I hoped I'd be. Perhaps I was thrown off from the beginning due to the medical implausibilities, but that's just me being picky. I'd recommend this book if you are a fan of second chance romance.

I absolutely loved this new romcom by Carina Taylor!
I had never read a second chance romance between a divorced couple before, and this was an absolute treat!
I loved the characters - Meyer was spunky and quirky and Archie was cuuuuute! I loved his flirting! And with the amnesia trope it was hilarious and fabulous! Their forced proximity was perfection - the conversations they had and their growth across the story was soo good! I LOVED how they talked it out and they EACH took responsibility for the past and how things went down! Beautiful! And Meyer's grand gesture at the end! So great!
So I loved this story! I thought it was fresh and fun and hilarious and heartfelt - I was TOTALLY rooting for the characters to get back together! I loved how playful their relationship was! This story gave me all the good feels!
And I would LOVE another story set in this world about Meyer's brother!! (:

I found this book funny and sweet at places though sometimes ridiculous at others, and kept me going but just enough to finish. In the end, I just felt that the whole thing was bland and wanting.
This one's a fast and lighthearted read for those craving to scratch that second chance trope itch. I think I read this in just two or three sittings tops.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, and the author for my early copy of this book. All opinions are honest and my own.

A quick cute read.
I love the premise of this story so much.
A couple really cute scenes that had me smiling / laughing out loud.
I felt like I was being told, rather than shown, so I didn’t get emotionally connected to the story like I would have liked.
A few disconnects that took me out of the story a bit.
But a very sweet ending.
Thank you to netgalley for the chance to review an advance copy.
