This was a nice story. I enjoyed reading it. It had a great sense of community spirit. It was well wrote with some nice realistic characters. It was a good read as all the kids prepare for their church nativity. It had a unique start to the story line. It was a nice enough story I just didn't warm to it and couldn't put my finger on why I didn't connect with the story as much as I would of liked to , to get the higher ratings. Remember that I am one person my average rating could be your 5 star read. So always try a sample to see if it is for you.
Many thanks to the author and publishers for creating this nice story with a great sense of community spirit.

What’s a Christmas book without a great Christmas Eve story. This book was told from the perspective of a Nanna telling her grandchildren a tale.
Only this tale is her past and it’s rich with wonder.
It has a lovely message and is very very festive.
I l love how each story is interwoven.
Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.

A great book to get u in the festive spirit. Nice quick easy read full of wonderful characters. Yet another fantastic book from Debbie

A quick, easy and cute read that definitely got me into the christmas spirit and perfectly captured what christmas is all about. I loved it.

This is a great book that starts with a grandma telling her two children a story. Not the princess one her granddaughter wanted, but a real life one though she lets the children name them,
We are then introduced to Hank and Pete. Both are sick of their lives and thinks the others job is harder than tthe others so they decide to swap. But soon they are in deep over their heads but with the help of the two female leads Barbie and Grace-Ann (who hates being called Gracie aka Hank's name for her).
This a story about accepting help and maybe finding love along the way.
A great book to snuggle up this winter in front of the fire and a hot chocolate. Bouncing between the past and the present I can tell you're going to love this one.

When i first saw this book by the Queen of Christmas books, I just knew I needed to read it and I was definitely NOT disappointed, I loved everything about it!
The week before Christmas, friends Peter and Hank agree to swap jobs and end up finding love along the way.
The Christmas spirit was a wonderful, heartwarming, festive story and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it.
As soon as I started to read this book I just couldn’t stop and I had to keep turning the pages to find out what happens next…..

What a lovely Christmas story and such lovely characters, just love Debbie Macomber books as they always leave you with a smile and feel good feeling
As always my thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown Book group UK Sphere for the read

Pete and Hank have been friends since childhood and though both have busy lives ,manage to meet up for regular lunches, During one such lunch, having teased each other about how easy the other's life is, they agree to swap roles for a week. .the only thing is Pete is a pastor and Hank runs a bar! Pete is thrown in at the deep end intellectually pulling pints while trying to clear tables and serve increasingly irate customers. In the midst of this chaos he is visited by a local chapter of bikers who use him for darts practice! Meanwhile in the next town, Hank thinks he can put his feet up and watch the game but he is soon out straight by Pete's whirlwind of a sister who arrives like a mini tornado and promptly sets him straight. His first task being to go out into the stormy night to collect a donkey for the living nativity which is to take place on Christmas eve. This is a morality tale for our times and really gives food for thought as to how we view and judge people without understanding-or trying to understand-their lives. It's thought provoking, charming and humorous too. Highly recommend

Peter and Hank are the best of friends and have been most of their lives and couldn't be more different from each other, Hank the owner of a tavern and Peter who is a pastor both think their lives and jobs are hard and decide to swap for a week to see just how bad each others lives are.
The story is told by Nana who is baby sitting her two grandchildren and amuses them with story telling and tells them this true story
Wonderful colourful characters and a great storyline, really enjoyed this book and read it in one go

I love Debbie Macomber's books and this one is a treat. Nana is babysitting her two young Grandchildren and begins to tell them a story. It is about two Men who have been great friends most of their lives. One owns a Tavern and the other is Pastor of a small Town Church. They meet regularly and each think they have the hardest job. After some discussion they decide to change places for 5 days before Christmas. Each of them is surprised at how much work is involved in their new roles. The Children enjoy the story and ask questions all the way through. There are friendships, local community pulling together and of course romance. I highly recommend this to be read at any time of year.

This is a lovely feel good seasonal story. There are no surprises and it is a quick read. - ideal for busy people in the run up to Christmas! It would make a great Christmas movie.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I read this book in one sitting.
Two friends change places, one is a Pastor and the other owns a bar, as they feel the others life is easy. In doing this, they see what the other friend faces in their daily life, and try to help lessen the burdens.
Their outlook on life changes and, of course they find love. Even though this story is told over Christmas, it’s not necessarily a festive Christmas story.
I definitely recommend this book

I think Debbie Macomber is the queen of Christmas. I have been a big fan of Debbie's books for a really long time now. Her books never fail to make me smile. This book is really lovely, I really enjoyed being transported into the pages of the book , the characters and the storyline. Another wonderful, feel good, romantic and utterly Christmassy books.

As usual a wonderful inspiring read from Debbie. This one was told slightly differently and I enjoyed it immensely.
A Christmas swap of jobs between two friends ends up in a fantastic read. Debbie truly inspires readers with her wonderful writing and great reading books.
Looking forward to more
