Thank you NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read an eARC of this book.

This was a cute British romcom which as a Beth O'Leary fan I always enjoy. Initially when I saw the words "Tik-Tok" in the book I was sort of put off as I don't love when there are bits of information that are currently relevant in the book I am reading. I grew to love the concept that Tik Tok brought in, but I will say it was hard for me to imagine what was actually in the videos and what wasn't (it's honestly not that big of deal). I thought Harry and Sally were cute, but I wouldn't say they were the cutest book couple I have read. This was a simple, cute, fun read and it did everything I needed it to do. I will check out more of Kathryn Freeman's books in the future.

Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner

This romantic comedy centered novel combines the love stories we’ve fantasized about our entire life with the reality of live and dating in the modern world. A man who doesn’t believe in love meets a woman who lives in a rom com fantasy and the combination becomes a viral tik tok sensation. A sweet read with a cute twist.

“‘It’s a romcom,’ he said mildly. ‘The guy was going to get the girl.’
‘But you didn’t know how that was going to happen,’ she argued. ‘It annoys me when people say romcoms are predictable. In murder mysteries you know someone is going to get murdered, and someone is going to work out who did it. In action films the hero always achieves his mission.’”

I’m not going to lie. I requested this book solely based on the cover and the title. Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite movies ever. Despite the title, with the characters’ names being Harry and Sally, I was expecting this book to be a remix of Sleeping in Seattle. However, this book was uniquely the characters’ love story.
I was hooked early in the story when Harry and Sally recreated the iconic lift scene from Dirty Dancing. This scene was hilarious! When Sally posts the clip on TikTok, it blows up. After realizing that they could make money through sponsorships online, Sally asks Harry to continue to make videos with her. After being cheated on and his parents separating, Harry is skeptical of love, but he agrees to help Sally. Swoon!
Harry and Sally recreate many iconic romance scenes for their TikTok account. Each scene has its own twist, so it’s not exactly like the film of its origin. These moments really reveal the characters while ranging from comedic, awkward, and romantic.
If you love romantic comedies and/or romance books, this is the story for you!

I loved this book so much, it was such a nice and easy read. It make me laugh out loud and feel all giddy how I feel when literally watching a romcom.

When Harry met Sally, 2023 edition. This was such a fun take on all things romcom and cheesy AF, with Harry not believing in love and Sally obsessed with finding it... what really could go wrong?

I adored watching Harry slowly come to the realisation, 'who actually knows what love feels like until you experience it in your own individual and unique way'... Harry was such a loveable character and he truly had such a good sense of humour.. sometimes I wanted to shake him to wake him up to see hello, how amazing romcoms actually are..... and also how Sally was the best he was going to get.

Truly recommend :)!

First off this is such a cute romcom book and any romcom movie lover will absolutey adore this book. New roommates Sally (resident romcom lover) and her new roommate Harry (romcom hater and hater of love in general) decide to recreate the iconnic lift scene from Dirty Dancing. After Sally uploads the clip onto TikTok it blows up, the pair decide to journey on and recreate other iconic romcom movie scenes....until they are no longer acting.

I really enjoyed the humor in this book and seeing how the pair put their own spin on the movie scenes.

There are so many romcom books on the market that it hard to find one that makes the time spent between the pages worth the time. Let me tell you this is one that was time well spent.
Harry and Sally were both so likeable that I cheered for good vibes to stay with them to the end. I will be telling my friends this is one they need to grab and read. It had me feeling things all over the scale and most of all I cheered them on, and I was left smiling so many times while reading this book.
Thank you NetGalley, Kathryn Freeman and One More Chapter for the ARC of Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner. This is my personal review.

When Harry met Sally! As a lifelong romcom lover, this book was entertaining, swoony, and just a wonderful read. Harry was the perfect curmudgeon, Sally the hopeless romantic. Their viral video of the Dirty Dancing lift is one I wish I could see and I really enjoyed following their story. The friends in this story also made me wish I had a group like that in my life.

Thank you to my partners, @RachelsRandomResources, @NetGalley, and @Kathryn.Freeman_Author. I appreciate the #gifted ecopy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!

I immensely enjoyed this fun romantic comedy teeming with memories of some of the greatest romcom movies of all time!

1. Funny Innuendos - The fun, flirty banter between Harry and Sally is on point in this one!
2. The Romcoms - I love all of the romcoms references and re-enactments! Such a great plot for a romcom novel!
3. Family Strife - With Sally’s sister, Amy, and Harry’s parents, we see different aspects of family drama. Freeman did a great job showing the struggles and bringing some closure to both.
4. Past Relationship Struggles - Harry’s ex, Isabelle, is ridiculous, and I wish he would’ve kicked her to the curb more forcefully right away!
5. Friends - Both Sally and Harry have a great group of friends that carry them through all of their trials and tribulations. It shows that sometimes a close-knot group of friends is just as, or more, important than family.

Do yourself a favor throughout the romantic month (or anytime for that matter) and get your copy of this! Even Adam wasn’t a fan of romcoms but sure found the sentiments eventually!

This is a story to make you smile and fall in love; to remember that love is not only for movies and that it can be real!
This is the story of Sally and Harry; Sally loves romantic movies, Harry hates them… So, what best can they do to try to re-create all the famous movies for instagram and become famous? Oh yes! Be prepared to laugh and smile a lot.
I’ll start by saying that Sally is a lovely and bright woman with a huge heart; she protects her sister even if they don’t talk, makes Harry smile even if he is not ready for it and makes any reader fall in love with romance again and again!
Harry is a moody but sweet character, his past makes him not trust love, ignore it and be afraid of it. And that’s how everything starts, a simple bet between Harry and Sally to recreate a movie, Dirty Dancing, the famous jump, but mostly the connection between them, love. As you can imagine, Harry, a firm believer that love doesn’t exist, says that everyone can do it, and you don’t have to love to do it… But, recreation after recreation things will start to change… and in the end, who do you think will win? Love or not?
I have to say that I read this book in just one sit; it was fun, sweet and impossible to not laugh sometimes!
If you are looking for a book to make you smile and fall in love again, this is the one you should try, it’s a must!

When hopeless romantic Sally convinces her love cynical flatmate Harry to reenact romantic scenes from romcom movies, she doesn't expect her TikTok videos to take off. But when they do and sponsors start rolling in, the two realize they can definitely be making a buck from doing them. Bet you can guess what happens next!

I am always happy to see a new Kathryn Freeman novel. Her books are easy reads, light and incredibly sweet. This one was just what I needed to get into the Valentine's spirit. If you enjoy Christina Lauren's books, you need to give Kathryn Freeman a go - you won't regret it!

This book was so fun to read! Also such a great concept for the story. Harry and Sally end up living together and one night decide to reenact a very famous romcom scene which sets the stage for them to continue recreating famous scenes from all the best romcoms. It’s a little spicy and so cute. Highly recommend this one.

Such a cute book! It is a friends to lovers troupe that will have you smiling the entire book. When Sally needs a roommate, Harry comes highly recommended. Sally loves romcoms and decides to remake we’ll know scenes from romcoms and post on social media in an effort to gain sponsorship and make extra money.

I loved every page of this book. All the discussions about romcoms brought back memories and I could picture to scenes being remade. Sally and Harry names even come from a romcom. The book is sweet and funny and everything you want a romcom to be!

If you are a huge fan of romcoms and forced proximity, this is the book for you!

Sally is your romcom obsessed and strong believer of love. Harry is your grumpy sarcastic man that doesn't believe that love exists. Life brings them together when Sally is in need of a flatmate and Harry needs a place to stay. One drunken night, Sally and Harry recreate the iconic lift in "Dirty Dancing" which they post on social media. The video ends up going viral and Sally and Harry see an opportunity from which they can both benefit from. In result, they spend a lot of time together bringing major romcom moments to life. Are they really acting for the camera or are they catching feelings for each other?

I really love the concept of this storyline but for me, I just was not feeling this book. I am a big fan and sucker for romcoms but this book fell a bit flat for me. I think what I really disliked about this book was that it was written in 3rd person!! I just struggle trying to stay focus on the storyline when it is in 3rd person! At times I found myself pushing myself to continue reading this book. Also, some of the characters in my opinion were just unlikeable to me. The redeeming factors of this book are that of course all the rom com references and dealing with family troubles. I really appreciated the in depth reason for why Harry doesn't believe in love (definitely teared up).

Now, this was such a fun read! Sally lets a room in her flat, and Harry rents it, since his ex won’t move out of his house!
After a few drinks one night, they decide to reenact the lift from Dirty Dancing…
Next thing you know, they’re TikTok sensations, reenacting numerous iconic RomCom scenes, and maybe getting a good case of the fuzzies to go with it!
Nobody Puts RomComs In The Corner by @kathryn.freeman_author was so much fun, and I loved the chance to read it early, thanks to @netgalley
I’m not exactly sure when it’s being released in the US, but keep your eyes out for it, it’s a good one!

This was super cute! I loved all the movie references and the blossoming attraction between these two.

Where it lost a star was the third act conflict. Not so much what happened to cause the third act conflict but more Sally's naivety about love. I mean seriously, was she really waiting to hear bells? When that conversation took place with her sister I could not help but roll my eyes.

Also I felt the story took a bit too long to get to the this-no-longer-feels-like-pretend bit. I would have liked for that to happen sooner because it doesn't leave much time to grovel. Also, Sally should have grovelled in my opinion.

But overall a very feel-good romance!

An incurable romantic, Sally knows what it will feel like when she finds love – first that unmistakeable fuzzy feeling, and that has to be followed by the ringing of bells. She hasn’t found it yet – but her parents certainly did, and she’s seen enough romcoms to know what she’s looking for. Harry, on the other hand, doesn’t believe in love – his parents are hardly the best example, and his own recent experience has only confirmed that he’d be best keeping his heart firmly locked. They become flatmates and tentative friends – as a muscly builder and man’s man, her sister’s pink bedroom isn’t quite what he’s used to, but that’s easily remedied with a coat of paint. The pink sofa in the lounge, and the nights when Sally’s friends come round to watch their favourite films – well, he can live with that.

One night, they’re watching Dirty Dancing – he’s never seen it – and with the help of a few margaritas, and after the friends have gone home, they decide to video their clumsy attempt to recreate that iconic lift. The video goes viral – they realise they’ve discovered a way of creating a source of income for them both, and more hilarious videos of moments from Sally’s beloved romcoms follow (I particularly loved that scene from When Harry Met Sally, punctuated by the interventions of the pensioners in the cafe – and as for that one from An Officer and a Gentleman!). Even if they don’t initially feel it, everyone who watches their videos can see the attraction between them – and when they realise it too, and how impossible a long term relationship would be, she looks elsewhere for her fuzzy feelings, and those bells, but it’s only Harry that seems likely to make them ring.

The characterisation in this book is just wonderful – including the cast of excellent supporting characters. Sally really isn’t as pink and fluffy as she seems – she runs a successful business (that cafe…), and after the loss of her parents really stepped up to the mark as far as her sister was concerned. And Harry – he’s not without a softer side, and there are times when he certainly shows it. And I really loved the way the story was told from both their points of view, really helping you understand where they’re both coming from. But oh my goodness, their romance – the author always has a certain degree of heat and sizzle, but with this one she’s really excelled herself. The chemistry between these two is exceptional, something you really feel – and however unlikely, and despite the many real obstacles along the way, I was completely invested in their happy ending.

I loved a lot of the detail too – Sally’s texts, littered with cute emojis, made me laugh – and the hearts in the cafe window capturing the successful relationships that started there. Harry has a fantastic dry sense of humour, and the exchanges between the pair are just wonderful. And I very much liked the way some real issues were introduced, and sensitively handled – life isn’t just a laugh a minute, and there’s a really perfect balance.

I totally adored this book – and if you love romcoms too, and have any romance in your soul, so will you, I promise. Shall I say “her best book yet”? Yes, I think I really must. Very highly recommended by me.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Grateful for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Harry and Sally - two polar opposites in terms of their views of love, find themselves living together due to circumstances mostly out of their control. Soon they begin to indulge in Sally’s love of Tik Tok and rom coms, and Sally struggles with the differentiation between rom coms and real life. The sweetest part was the love between the two friend groups that Harry and Sally have - especially amongst Sally’s friends Kitty and Vince. The tik toks quickly gain a huge following and the need for additional content grows, so does the challenge of navigating two people that have totally differing views of love.

Overall, it was a pretty sweet book but got a bit repetitive in parts. The story line with Isabelle dragged on a bit for me, and I think it could’ve been just as effective if it was maybe 50-75 pages shorter. It was fairly predictable which is fine for me in this genre, but I was not diving in for more like I have with other romance books

As I fellow Romcom lover, I absolutely adored the plot and romcom references throughout Sally and Harry’s story. After the breakdown of his previous relationship Harry (the love cynic) rents a room from Sally (the ultimate romance lover). To demonstrate his point that the iconic moments within romcoms are unimpressive, they re-enact the legendary Dirty Dancing lift and post the video on TikTok. After a notable about of views, likes and requests for more content, they embark on re-enacting many more truly iconic romcom moments.

As a regular romance reader, I am always seeking stories within a unique plot and this book definitely has that. I found myself smiling throughout. Not only did I adore Sally and Harry, but the plethora of interesting characters and relationships within the book.

‘There’s nothing like a good romcom to make you forget a miserable day’. If you are looking for a book to help you forget a miserable day, this one is for you.

Read this book if you enjoy:
