I will admit I have the first book but I have not read it yet but when I got an email saying that this one was up on NetGalley something told me to get it. SO GLAD I DID CAUSE THIS BOOK IS PHENOMENAL!!! The romance, the characters, and the worldbuilding was just so AMAZING!!!

Although Symphony for a Deadly Throne is book three in a trilogy, I am yet to read the first two books. This did not take away from my enjoyment since each book can be read as a standalone. Since I really enjoyed this book, I am definitely going to be reading the first two books sometime soon!
Arabessa is a great protagonist and I loved all the supporting characters! Romance is very prominent in this book, which I loved since Romantic Fantasy is my favourite genre. I was slightly confused about the world building at times, however I'm putting that down to not having read the first books. Overall, this is a perfect book for fans of romance and magic!

This entire trilogy has just been amazing. And I loved every moment spent with Arabessa and Zimri. I had been so anxious to read Arabessa’s story from the first two books. I wish there had been a little more to the plot in this book, but overall, the romance was brilliant. I really enjoyed Symphony for a Deadly Throne and all books in the Mousai series.

Thank you, NetGalley for the ARC of Symphony for a Deadly Throne in exchange for an honest review.
I honestly liked this book a lot better than the previous ones due to a variety of reasons.
The main reason is Arabessa. She is a much better protagonist in comparison to her sisters. She is fierce and brave. She is also very loving and loyal. Her hardships made a lot of sense. I also loved her relationship with her sisters.
Zimri was quite tedious. I think that my issue with him is that he didn't have much of a personality. He came across as immature and insensitive at times. Compared to Arabessa, he was quite bland. Because of that the romance felt very lacking.
It would have been better if this book showcased how they fell in love and the initial parts of their relationship.
I also did not like parts of the ending.
I think this was certainly the best book in the series

This book was perfect. I was excited to finally get a peek into Arabessa's story because in the previous books, she was the sister I couldn't connect with as well as Lark or Nyia. Turns out, she's like looking in a mirror, so jokes on me.
I was surprised that we got answers to some questions we all have been asking since the first book, and in this way, this third book perfectly tied the loose ends of the whole series together. We learn about why the Musai exist in the first place and how their role is changing with all three sisters branching out to have their own life.
This book is about new beginnings.
Although I felt that the plot itself wasn’t as heavy as it was in the previous books, it still got me sitting at the edge of my seat at times. I’m someone who enjoys romance being the main focus of a story, so I have nothing to complain about. The relationship between Arabessa and Zimri was one of the most wholesome, tender and well built from the start that I came across in a while.
Seriously, I loved everything about this book and I’m a little sad that we have to say goodbye to this series.

I just want to start by saying the covers in this series are so beautiful! A good conclusion to this fantasy romance series with a satisfying ending. I felt the conflict between the two main characters was a bit forced at times and there was also a bit of the miscommunication trope sadly. The plot overall also felt a bit lacking in places.

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review! This book was a bit out of my comfort zone, especially as I learned after the fact that Symphony for a Deadly Throne is a part of a series following each sister. This is the finale, however, and I was able to read it fine without having read the first two books. But now I'm going back because I absolutely need more! The emphasis on sisterhood was endearing and really the focal point of this book. Arabessa is confident and beautifully written, with the world itself captivating. A great addition to the adult romance fantasy genre and I can't wait to go back and read more.

And so we return to the incredible, magical world of the Mousai again. One last time.
It was very interesting, at times painful, and at times amazing, to finally see the story through the eyes of Arabessa and Zimri. Their story was told in an unexpected and mostly enjoyable way. This book felt a bit more introspective than its predecessors. I’m so thrilled with the way this book and their story ended.
I absolutely loved a newly-added side character in this book. They were so unique, and I’d love to see them again if this author decides to ever return to this world. I, of course, loved seeing Larkyra and Niya again, and it was amazing that they were able to play a real role in this story. There’s never enough Achak… They are so mysterious and intriguing that I’d love a book from their perspective as well.
This author writes such strange and unusually beautiful worlds and characters in a way that reminds me of V.E. Schwab and Laini Taylor, but for Adult Fantasy Romance. I really love what she adds to this genre, and I’m excited for what comes next.

ALL THE STARS.
Feeling very emotional after finishing this. I so relate to Arabessa as the oldest of three sisters.
So very grateful for the chance to read this ARC and cannot wait until February to buy my own physical copy!! Thank you so much!!!

EJ Mellow does it again with her Mousai series. I adored Burning Sea but as I finished that novel about Niya, I thought I want more of The Thief Kingdom and this didn’t disappoint.
Each sister’s story is unique and beautifully done. Arabessa’s is full of mystery and intrigue throughout the whole novel. I could easily get lost in this world and it’s by far one my favorite trilogies written to date.
Mellow is rich in developing and executing her vision with her novels, Even though each Mousai could be read as a standalone, the other novels weave seamlessly into the entire story.
I would love to see more stories of each of these sisters as well but this was an excellent way to bring their stories full circle.

A great read, and so honoured to be able to read it ahead of publication. The story is compelling, the writing beautifully descriptive, and the world is immersive. While the first book is still my favourite, it was so wonderful to be back in the world of the Mousai and connect to Arabessa and Zimri’s story.

Thank you E.J. Mellow and Amazon for giving me this ARC via Netgalley!
Symphony for a Deadly Throne is a third and final book in the Mousai series. It is a series about three sisters with beautiful but dangerous powers and after loving the first two books I couldn’t wait for Arabessa’s story and it definitely didn’t disappoint!
While Symphony for a Deadly Throne is the third book in a trilogy, it can be read as a standalone. Our main character is Arabessa, the oldest sister and the leader of the Mousai. She has always been the most responsible one and had many duties both to her family and the Thief Kingdom. When an opportunity presents itself for her to take part in the competition to be the next Thief King, Arabessa will need to decide what matters to her most - her duties or Zimri, the man she has always loved.
Since the first book in this series I couldn’t wait to read Arabessa and Zimri’s story and OMG it’s so good! I really liked their childhood friends to lovers romance and hoped they would find a way to be together despite all the troubles they faced and the hard decisions they had to make. I really liked the plot with Arabessa competing for the throne, I honestly didn’t think this book would go in that direction and I’m so happy it did. This world is as always really interesting, I loved seeing the Thief Kingdom from Arabessa’s POV and Zimri’s POV made things even more interesting, we learn so many new things and I feel like there as still so many things we don’t know, I would love it if the author decided to write more books in this amazing world.
I really enjoyed Symphony for a Deadly Throne and all books in the Mousai series. The ending was a little bitter sweet but I loved it and can’t wait for more books from E.J. Mellow!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Symphony for a Deadly Throne in exchange for an honest review.
I have been impatiently waiting to reading the third Mousai book, so I was thrilled to receive an ARC copy. For reference, I rated both previous books 5 stars, but particularly looked forward to read this book ever since book 1 when Zimri and Arabessa were introduced.
We started with a jump back in time to how Zimri came to be fostered by the Thief King and how Z&A met, which I loved. From the off this was the most compelling and rich writing of the three books. I can’t tell if it’s because we know so much more about the world by now or if the author has grown in her skill but I was enraptured from the start.
One of the things I love most about this series is that though the books are all set in the same world, each focusing on a different sister, they all feel so distinct from one another. This sits more firmly in the Thief Kingdom than either of its predecessors. We got glimpses of the shared history between Z&A that I had not expected from the previous books. I do not know how to describe this book without giving away too much, but if you enjoyed any parts of the previous two books, you will definitely enjoy this as well.

I am convinced I was born to own anything E. J Mellow writes.
This book is the perfect finale to the sisters' stories, and I am so grateful to the author that I got to read it (for the first time, because lets be real I am also buying this one) 5 months in advance!
This third installment follows Arabessa, the eldest, and Zimri, but once again this story is so much more than romance. The world building keeps getting more elaborate and impressive and the quest the characters go on immerses you into that world flawlessly.
If you love your Fantasy Romance to be led by fierce and confident women that are also relatable in their character growth, this series is for you and this book takes the cake!

Symphony for a Deadly throne is a masterpiece. This book cemented the Mousai trilogy as one of my all-time favourite series. The world of Adilor is magical, tragic, romantic and beautiful. It's a dark, lush fantasy world with complex characters so flawed and beautiful that I had moments where I forgot that they weren't real. Their turmoil felt like my own.
The world-building in this series is superb. The writing is lyrical and addictive. The stories in each instalment of this series, especially Symphony for a Deadly Throne, are stunning, suspenseful and engaging. I was not bored for a moment while reading this book. Further, the romance was seductive without feeling egregious.
If you like fantasy, romance, quality writing and a world that can distract you from this one, please read this whole trilogy. I loved Symphony for a Deadly Throne and cannot wait for the rest of the world to discover it, too.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was an epic end to the series. It was incredible! I am speechless.

I have been waiting for this book for so long and it did not disappoint. This series is stunning. The writing is magical, the sisters are strong/deadly/beautiful, and each story in this has the perfect amount of plot and romance. I cannot say enough good things about this book (and series as a whole). 100% recommend to anyone who enjoys fantasy romance.

Thank you, Net Galley, for providing a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest feedback.
I don't often give 5 star reviews but for this book I will.
The writing style and character development throughout this series has been unmatched to anything else that I have ever read.
This series has been amazing in not just focusing on the romance but also making you feel like you are right there with the MCs, I can't wait to see what more this author comes out with.

EJ Mellow just cannot miss with this series. Every single book in it has been the perfect blend of fantasy, sisterhood, and romance. Symphony for a Deadly Throne is no exception. It's really a satisfying conclusion to the series and you can tell how much hard work and care has gone into tying up the loose ends and answering questions from earlier books.
