A really clever story with plenty of twists and turns. Clara and Olivia are twin sisters, both ballerinas at Sadlers Wells. The story is told from multiple POV and this dynamic works well. Both are being watched, but they dont know by whom.It is dark and sinister, with a whodunit element that will keep you guessing till the end.
If you're a fan of the ballet, then this will appeal, but you don't need to be for the story to be entertaining.
It's historically accurate with references to dancers of old, and there is a section following on from the story that talks about the real life inspiration behind the story which was fascinating!
A wonderful debut.

A chilling, historical mystery. It really gripped me and I connected to Clara and Olivia. Huge thank you to the publisher for this ARC, in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this read, I liked how dark it was and the sinister turn that the plot took. It was well written with a compelling storyline and well developed characters. On a side note there was a lot of dance terminology and in particular ballet which is super technical, I don't think it hindered the read but I did find myself stopping to look certain things up. An enjoyable read

This was an enjoyable read, though by half way through, I wished I'd known more about ballet to get the full benefit.
A story of twins, young, alone, making their way in the world, and a sibling relationship that seemed one of the best.
I have to admit, adding a sinister plot definitely sparked my interest more, and I felt I sat up straighter, and read so much faster when that happened.
There was a nice surprise or two along the way.
Overall, an entertaining read that his just possibly taught me a thing or two about ballet, and saddlers Wells.
