This was well researched and written in a coherent way. I enjoyed the history of the game. I did have a few problems with the Facts/Stats given out in summary about some of the players. This is due to the terminology around the stats. It is necessary to read the information around the stats before it is obvious that Senior Goals and Senior caps mean goals and appearances for England. Also being very picky ‘England’ is not a club and not all players were acknowledged as playing for England. The small snippets of real life in the biographies were excellent and often showed how hard it still is for girls and then women in sport.

I particularly liked the message that the sport is for everyone, you could become a referee etc. you participate by being a supporter and that the sport is for everyone. The chapter on who to look out for in the future was good as well.

However, I do feel the years Mark Sampson was the manager should not have been ignored. Looking at the information about Sampson’s era the Lionesses were successful and this should be celebrated. Could a table of wins and losses have been provided?

I began reading the book on the Kindle app and the layout was terrible, on the NetGalley app everything was paginated correctly.

Following the recent Success of the Lionesses, I thought I'd have a Read of this Book,
This is a Fantastic book with great insight into life inside the Women's game.

Includes stories that will make you laugh, stories you just wouldn't believe and stories that show that, although a long way to go, women's football is heading in the right direction

Definitely recommend to all sports fans.
(Thanks to Net Galley for this Book).
