I just received the first two chapters of the book which was a nice appetiser.
A great start looks like an interesting read.

Thanks to NetGalley and Faber and Faber Ltd.

Having read other Peter Swanson books, would this be as good - of course it would! Having been given this extract to read by NetGalley I had to then buy the book to find out more.
I shall be keeping an eye out for more of this authors books

Hard to say too much about this one as I thought I had the book but it was just the first 2 chapters! It seems like an exciting premise and I was enjoying the read but can’t give much more of a review with so little to go on!

This book exceeded my expectations. If you loved The Girl on the Train then you will love this. When Ted meets a stranger at the airport he spills all his secrets out. This is definitely a case of be careful what you wish for. Although predictable at times there were still some unexpected events.

I was fortunate enough to be given an extract of Swanson’s thriller The Kind worth Killing.

Two strangers meet in an airport lounge and start talking. This sets the scenario for what is to come, which I really wanted to find out. So- I ordered the book and when I finished it, decided to get Swanson’s next one: The Kind Worth Saving, only recently published.

The Kind Worth Killing was a tour de force, dark, daemonic, with lots of unexpected plot twists What more is there to want from a thriller. I recommend wholeheartedly.

I am grateful to NetGalley and Faber&Faber for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the extract I had to get the full book to read all of it. I enjoyed it and now I can't wait for the second book to be released.

This extract shows the promise of being an interesting story. Just two chapters long, one with a husband talking to a stranger whilst waiting for their flight about his wifes affair and wanting to kill her, the other chapter follows a 13 year old Lily in a summer with her parents and the strange parties they throw.

I received this extract from netgalley in return for a honest review.

I have read a few of Peter Swanson's books
So couldn't pass up the chance to read the kind worth killing (2015)
Especially knowing the sequel, the kind worth saving will be out soon

I was hooked straightaway, the characters and the storyline were fascinating and kept you on your toes
Loved the twists and turns, and like the Lily and Ted combo
Hope to meet up with them again

Thank you netgalley, Peter Swanson and Faber & Faber

Downloaded the extract instead of the book. The extract was very good, I would read further if the full book was available.

A short extract, 2 chapters. I am curious to see how the book progresses . I like the writing style so far.
Thanks to Net Galley for this taster

I avoid reviewing extracts for obvious reasons but requested this before spotting that it wasn’t the full book.

This was an interesting start and very easy to read. Although the premise isn’t original, setting it in an airport lounge adds a suitable loucheness to it and I imagine that the pace and style of the book carry you through the plot pretty quickly.

I’m a bit concerned whether you invest in the characters at all, as they’re not very likeable, even though the situation Lily describes is so awful.

Definitely intriguing and makes you want to read the full book.

I have read several of Peter Swanson's novels and really enjoyed them. In my haste to reach out for another, I didn't realise this was just a sample. It was enjoyable, however, so now I will have to find the book.

An enticing extract to make sure that you want to read the full book.
The dysfunctional family that Lily grows up in. Compared with the marriage of Ted and Miranda and the disappointment Ted feels when he discovers Miranda's affair.
How do the lives intersect and overlap?

The lead up to the MC's story about his wife felt quite long winded and turned me off from wanting to read much more of the book. I liked the idea of spilling all your secrets to a stranger in an airport bar though.

I was surprised to see this novel was published in 2015. I'd have thought it was more fitting for 1975, largely because, as others have picked up on, the skin-crawling descriptions of characters (ie: women and their breasts, hair, eyes, skin) and characters' thoughts about characters' (ie: men wondering what women look like naked, and women wondering what men think of them. Who knew?) Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad example of a psychological thriller, and there are some excellent examples of twists and so on - after all, it does base itself on 'Strangers on a Train', so... - but it's the wrong-headedness of the characterisation that overshadows a lot of good here. Take it down ten or twelve notches in the testosterone department, and we'd be getting somewhere. I'm not convinced by its comparison to 'Gone Girl'. Just because it's in the same genre, does not make it comparable at all, so if that's what you're expecting, lower your expectations.

If you don't get snagged on casual sexism, there's a lot of potential here.

When Ted and Lily, two strangers, meet at an airport bar they share secrets with dire consequences
Ted tells of his wife being unfaithful and how he now wishes she was dead
Lily offers to help…..
And so it begins
A real cracker - loved it and am waiting for the next book!

It what I was expecting and I don’t think I’ll be reading the rest of the book when it’s published.
Very disjointed and confusing.
