Grips like a vice and twists like a rollercoaster. Impossibly clever. Impossible to put down!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Start of a new paranormal series. Ambrose Drake spent the night in the Carnelian sleep institute. Woken by a woman’s screams he cannot remember what happened next. He calls on one of the members of a podcast The Lost Night Files. Pallas also has experience of lost memories. The start of their adventure will allow them to explore new psychic talents and help them investigate murder! This first story is setting the stage for episodes to follow where hopefully new talents will emerge.
Thank you NetGalley and (publisher, Little Brown Book Group UK) for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

I'm a long time fan of JAK and enjoy her paranormal romantic suspense a lot.
Here we have an author who worries he's losing his mind - did he or did he not witness a murder? And there are curious parallels with Pallas, the podcaster he turns to for help. She has also lost time and now has interesting abilities to get a handle on ...
I loved that this was a slow burn romance, much my preference over lust filled endless sex scenes that hold up the story and here JAK gives the mystery time to unfold for the reader.
Enjoyed it and will be looking out for books 2 and 3 in the trilogy.

Several months ago three women stayed the night at the Lucent Springs Hotel - The hotel burnt down the same night BUT its a night that all three women have no memory off , they just have a feeling that all is not as it seems .
The three have now come together to investigate cold cases via their podcast hoping to find answers to their own questions about psychic enhancements along the way .
Pallas LLewellyn has received a tip off about an abandoned asylum in Carnelian where she meets Ambrose Drake - the man who sent her the tip . He also has experienced psychic visions and lost memories , but his were of a murder that no one believes took place .............. is someone covering up a murder or is Ambrose imagining what he thinks he saw ?
Working together to find out exactly what happened at the Sleep Institute places the couple in danger for someone does not want the truth to see the light of day and will kill to keep their secrets
This is yet another entertaining , suspense filled romantic thriller from the Author - the romance element however is a slow burn , which in this case I preferred .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

The start of another new parapsychological, romantic suspense trilogy from Jayne Ann Krentz and the Lost Night Files gets off to a great start as Sleep No More finds author Ambrose Drake, fearing that he’s losing his mind, asking podcaster Pallas Llewellyn for help in finding out exactly what had happened to him weeks before when he thought he saw the after effects of a murder when spending the night at a sleep clinic. Did he really stumble across a murder or was it all simply a dream? As Pallas listens to his story and finds out that he had previously experienced a case of losing a day when he woke up on a beach not knowing where he was and with no idea how he got there, she realises its eerily familiar to what had happened her and her two fellow podcasters.
This was a strong start to the series. Its very much a slow burner on the romance aspect concentrating more on building the relationship between Pallas and Ambrose rather than on their physical attraction. I loved the atmospheric setting of an old insane asylum set in the spooky coastal town of Carnelian, California and although I did figure out the true story behind the ghost of Catherine Carnelian it played its purpose in providing Pallas and Ambrose with a reason for being in the town with the secondary story of drug dealing adding some depth to the overall conspiracy plot which I’m assuming will arc across the series. Who was behind the abductions of Pallas and Ambrose which had resulted in their enhanced psychic abilities and for what purpose? How many more victims are out there afraid to come forward fearing that they’re losing their minds? I’m intrigued to find out what’s going to happen next

Jayne Ann Krentz has never disappointed me with any of the books that I have read and this book is no exception. She always manages to write really engaging characters that draw you into the book and I was happy to see that this was the case in this new series as well, As this is the first in a series there are some unanswered questions but nothing that made me frustrated at the end of the book which was good. Already waiting for the next installment.

Received an ARC from Netgalley to provide an honest review.
New Series begins The Lost Night Flies, I read this in one night which did not amuse husband as i would not got to bed till i finished it.
We have murder, mystery, suspense and romance as you are pulled into the story due to the writing of Jayne Ann Krentz.
The Lucent Springs Hotel is where Pallas Llewellyn, Amelia Rivers and Talia March spent the night and woke up with enhanced psychic abilities and no memories of the night. They now have a cold case podcast and cover cases while they try to resolve what happened to them.
Pallas works with Ambrose Drake after he claims to have witnessed a murder at the Carnelian Sleep Institute. They are both characters that have suffered in their relationships due to their powers, they work together to find answers as they uncover more than just a shady sleep clinic.
Very engaging characters and look forward to the next book in the series.

Well written with good characters. An intriguing and engrossing story which will keep you guessing, plenty of twists and turns.

I’ve been a huge fan of the author’s books over the years and I couldn’t pass the opportunity to read an early copy of her newest book, “Sleep no more”
This is the first book in her new series, Lost night files and one that sets up the bar quite high in my opinion. A great group of friends and lots of mystery and paranormal activity as already known in her special mark. A romance subplot couldn’t miss from her story and I think that’s always what draws me back to her writing. She is a master at intertwining so many suspenseful moments with sweet romance scenes.
The mystery part was quite interesting and made me guess myself a few times but it’s solved by the end and that twist was really surprising. There are still some unanswered questions that I have but I guess we will get to know much more in the next books.
I loved it and I couldn’t recommend it enough to any suspense readers.
📖Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley

Another really great paranormal suspense novel from JAK. The story really grips you and doesn’t let go until the very end. It is a really great start to a new series, giving glimpses at the end to the sinister people behind the scenes. I’m really looking forward to the next novel in the series.

A very intriguing novel Jayne Krentz has written a wonderful novel with strong likeable characters.
The question is what would you do if you woke up one day with a strong paranormal talent and the loss of a day.
Ambrose Drake awoke from a nightmare to find his life out of his control, he needs answers to his questions.
The Lost Night Files is a podcast operated by three women who also have questions to answer. Pallas Llewellyn has a curious talent the might help Ambrose to investigate what happened in the Sleep Institute.
A great read loved that it held my attention the whole way, trying to out guess the writer.
The little epilogue at the end was great as we now have a snap shot of who the protagonist is and how far he's willing to go to achieve his ends.

The first book in a new series (The Lost Night Files) by JAK, it doesn't disappoint. While not her best, the story and characters are still very engaging. Three women who lost their memories of their night at the Lucent Springs Hotel, now co-host a podcast, which investigates cold cases. They have acquired enhanced psychic abilities since then. This book follows the story of Pallas, one of these women and Ambrose Drake, who asks for her help in investigating a possible murder. Ambrose also has enhanced psychic capabilities and as they investigate the potential murder, someone (or someones) tries to kill them. It is an interesting read and I connected with both protagonists, especially Ambrose who is afraid to sleep as he fears nightmares and sleepwalking. It was good to read about a "hero" who had flaws as that made him more human and relatable. Overall a good read that I would recommend to any fan of JAK.

I've been a big fan of this author and loved her previous books but I don't know what it was about this book, I found it so hard to get into, I couldn't warm up to any of the characters, and found my concentration swaying a bit. It had a good premise but something was lacking.
