So so good . I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I have yet to find a book by Mrs Wright that I haven't loved.

Witch Wynter needs to flee , the Coven she belonged to have banished her , the Aeons will be hunting her - death is once again in her future unless she can reach Devil's Cradle and the protection of the Ancients who run the Town .
Her journey is rife with danger and she somehow manages to pick up an unruly crew - will they be allowed to stay ............ they must ask the first Ancient they approach for permission , binding themselves to his rules or be forced to leave and be at the mercy of the Aeons hunting them .
Ancient Cain is bored but upon meeting Wynter his attention is captured , can he find out her secrets ? will those secrets help him finally get his revenge on the Aeons ?

This is my first book by this Author but based on this offering won't be my last - a thoroughly entertaining read,
full of twists and turns around every corner .

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Ok this was everything I needed and then some. That is all.

If The vampires and Demons had a baby... BOOM in struts Devils Cradle.

Now before you're like WTF? Hang with me a minute.

Deep in Your Veins brings a lot of crazy humour amongst other kinds of crazy.
Dark in You brings a darker element to the romance and plot and also that dysfunctional family element.

I mean both seriess bring a LOT more then that, OK. Don't come for me. I cant explain it as well as it feels in my mind. But Devils Cradle to me is bringing the best of both of those worlds together.

Alpha hero with a sadistic streak who always gets his way.
Heroine who doesn't care to live up to anyone's expectations despite her being a force of nature.
A hugely dysfunctional family relationship that is equal parts crazy and fucking hilarious. Like seriously. The best of them yet. And when I tell you I am a Burn stan I mean I have listened to that book every night since it came out on audible and read it more times that I care to admit. Devils cradle gives that feel. The excitement. The curiosity. The character development and relationships. The plot progression. The humour. She has you hooked and pulls you in and just like those other two much loved series, She leaves you with more questions that you started and an excitement for what and who's to come in the series.

Cain is all kinds of dark dominating and delicious. He likes to make it hurt a little. It pleases him to know the pleasure is causing you a little pain. He also just likes to doll out pain to. He isn't a man to be pushed. He was also bored and ready to sleep with Wynter strolled into his office staring him in the eye like he wasn't Cain and couldn't just murder you. She intrigued him, tested him and pleased him. She also didn't put up with his shit which for him, unheard of. This man. This man is perfection.

Wynter just wants a quiet life and can't catch a damn break. She has been dealt blow after blow in life with what seemed like no end to the misery and yet she didn't feel sorry for herself. She wasn't out causing chaos. She just wanted some damn peace. Oh I loved me Wynter. She didn't show off or try to rule, if anything she just tried to avoid it. But Wynter was a magnet for attracting trouble despite her best efforts not to. She was snippy when she wanted. Could defend herself when needed and was always underestimated. Always. Except by her family, her coven.. the people she made her home. Frankly she cracked me up with her nonchalant, don't fuck with me vibe. It was everything.

Cain and Wynter just set fire to the pages with their sinful chemistry and snippy banter. I loved watching them push each others boundaries, play with one another and let those walls down a little. It was a ride for sure.

The holy dysfunctional and utterly hilarious Coven, much to Wynter's dismay.. loved her to death and would do anything to protect them. They Cracked me up. Think a whole Family of different versions of Khloe. They caused havoc, bitched and bickered, protected fiercely and got into all kinds of shit. I want in on their kind of family.

The plot aspect with the Aeons and the banished is interesting and a world that still has so much growth to come which is exciting. I thoroughly enjoyed the pace of their journey and the discoveries along the way, as well as the unknown to come. It's exciting to be in a new world that's got the potential for greatness like the likes of her other much loved stories.

Now I will emphasis that this story whilst not finishing on a huge cliff-hanger, does end with many unanswered question. Obviously that will be what the second and maybe even third story will lead to but I just wanted to make you aware going in that this is very much a continuous series where not everything is resolved in the first story.

I truly loved this story. now I am biased in the sense that I love this author and every book she's every written and released. But damn it she cant write and it always grabs my attention and leaves me wanting more. I am super excited for what's to come but for now this a phenomenal start.
A great foundation with multidimensional character and intricate plot with all the potential for growth. I felt all the feels, loved the characters and ranted like a crazy person when it ended because I just didn't want it to end.

Now this review may be a little all over the place. I'm in book hangover mode and I'm trying real hard to not spoil anything. If you've made it this far, congratulations and thanks. I hope you love this one as much as I did.

Now how do I get my hands on the next one now? asking for my selfish ass self of course because I NEED IT!

I read the blurb for this and thought cool that sounds like an original story. I've not read anything by Suzanne Wright before so this was an introduction for me to her writing.

It starts off really quickly with confrontation and getting an introduction to Wynter's powers in a pretty graphic way.

There is no punches pulled in this story as to the descriptions of gore or nsfw frequent bedroom scenes between Wynter and Cain.

I liked the idea of the original biblical humans still being alive with their own domains in parts of the world but we end the story without finding out how they're still immortal or what the darkness is that Cain keeps hinting at not being safe for Wynter despite her own powers.

I like the banter between Wynter and her coven/crew it makes for a nice comedic interlude in between some of the other parts of the story.

I think I will continue to read this series when the next book comes out as there's things I really want to find out.

I am a HUGE fan of Suzanne Wright books. So for me new book and new series i could not wait.

I would usually be looking at five stars for her books but something about this one something did not click yet., the writing was good, pacing of story good, characters great, but just something as said just did not get yet, maybe it will be resolved in later book.

The story is based around biblical characters and the place the town they run. Into this comes the team of Wynter and her crew (not coven). I do love her crew they are so much fun, and some of their comments made me laugh out loud.

I am looking for to the next book as can not wait to read what Wynter's crew get up to.

As always another great book by suzanne wright.
We first got to hear about the Ancients in A touch of rapture from her popular series 'Deep in your veins.'
This gave her fans a 'sneak peek' at the first book in her new series.
The wicked In me follows witch wynter as she run from her home and seeks out sanctuary at The devil's cradle.
I love how suzanne writes her characters, the females are always no nonsense kick ass woman whilst the men are always demanding alpha types. Without wanting to give away spoilers this book is filled with action, romance and humour with twists and surprises along the way.
As normal with this authors stories, reading it wasn't enough with me and I brought the audiobook when it was released

I was so disappointed as this blurb sounded ace! I got halfway through before I gave up - I don't mind smutty romance but this was just teetering on grim and crude!!! Some people will love that, but it's not for me. The characters were ok, but the storyline was quite slow and not enough for me to just skip the crude parts.....sorry but it grabbed my attention for the wrong reasons which is a shame

A huge thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A luxurious decadadent read. I couldn't put it down. The writing is sexy, addictive and a perfect read. I was hooked from the get go.

If you liked other suzanne reads you'll like this one. The same individual Writing style that sets her apart, and the great unique characters and fabulous side characters bring this story to life
Really excited to see where this story leads and the plot drew me in so much
It's not one of the great literay works of our generous, but if you like a decent plot and some highly charged adult scenes that actually feel right in the story and not just randomly thrown in

One of the best books I’ve read in a while, really set the bar high for 2023 reads. I am honestly in awe of Suzanne Wright and her ability to consistently blow my mind, rock my world and just serveeeeee with every book she writes.

After Wynter Dellavale is wrongly banished from her coven, she flees to Devils Cradle, a town run by beings known as Ancients, the only beings powerful enough to protect her from the Aeons hunting her. Being plagued with ennui, the last thing Cain expected to capture his attention is a little witch seeking safety for her and her unruly crew. But something about Wynter intrigues Cain beyond measure and he’s decided he wants her.

I’m leaving my summary/brief at that because I don’t want to give any of the story away. I think the reading experience is 10x’s better when you simply dive in.

Wynter has seriously pushed her way into my list of favorite heroines. She was strong, fierce and loyal to her crew aka coven-not-coven. To put it simply, she was a bad bih. Cain reached out, plucked my heart from chest and added to his collection. I am obsessed with the man, dark, possessive, a little sadistic, ugh just delicious. I cannot wait to delve deeper into his character in the upcoming books.

The chemistry between Wynter and Cain was explosiveee, I felt like I need to have the fire extinguisher on standby lest my kindle burst into flames. They seemed to be the ying to each other yang with how perfectly they fit one another.

Standing ovation for Mrs. Wright, her creativity and ability to constantly build new and novel worlds in the saturated paranormal/supernatural genre. An incredibly well written, captivating storyline that had me hooked from page 1. This book delivered on everything that I wanted and on things I didn’t even know I needed, to the point where I finished the book and immediately went back to chapter 1 to do a reread. It was THAT good.

How I’m meant to wait for book two is beyond me, I’m willing to finance any physics expert to build a time machine (hit me up no price is too high).

I received an ARC free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I would have bought it regardless as Ms. Wright is one of my auto-buys. She always writes a great book.

Once again Suzanne Wright hits it out of the park with the new Devils Cradle introduction. She wrote a likeable, doesn’t give-a-crap heroine who is no damsel in distress and paired her with a mysterious, powerful, protective alpha-type that we all love to lust over. Add in all Wynter’s crazy “crew” and non-stop attacks from the villains and this was quite a page turner. I laughed out loud at a lot of the banter in this book and the sex scenes are definitely scorching hot! They do tread into the realm of a bit of sadomasocism but not to an extent that it would bother you even if that’s not your scene. Already looking forward to the next one in the series.

I finished the book quite fast but skimmed some of it. I was really excited for this new series as I read the author's other books and loved her comedy, the snarky heroines and the quirky side characters. Also the description really pulled me in.
The plot was interesting and promising but it didn't really meet my expectations and felt kind of flat to me. Also I didn't like the insta love between the main couple, I didn't even have the time to connect with either of the characters or become really immersed in their story before I was thrown in the middle of all the sex. It lacked chemistry to me because of that and thought their feelings toward each other just didn't seem that believable.
My favorite scenes in the beginning were the ones with the coven all together, I liked their quirkiness and funny lines. But as I went further through the book the same situations and jokes kept repeating and it just stopped being interesting.
I think Suzanne Wright has a certain recipe for writing books and sticks to it, because of that most of her books are much similar and I feel like if you read her other works, you could say you already read this too. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, sometimes I'm in the mood for reading these types of lighter-not too complicated-spicy reads, but I guess since I've read Fairydale by Veronica Lancet prior to this, which left me reeling, my expectations were just too damn high. Which is why I'm giving it 4 stars (maybe it's just me,right?) instead of the 3 that I thought it deserved.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC.

I was provided with an arc of this book by netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group UK.

This might be my new favourite series, I absolutely love Suzanne Wrights' books but this one especially is soooo GOOD! I couldn't wait to read this book after seeing all the sneak peaks on her instagram and can I just saw it did not disappoint. Wynter and her crew my genuinely be my new favourite group and that's saying a lot since I absolutely love Harper and the gang. I can't wait to read the rest of the book's in this series and hope they come out soon because I need them NOW.

Cain is giving Knox and Maddox vibes and Wynter reminds me of a mix between Harper and Raini, she's super protective of those around her and so badass, I love a strong female that can hold her own, but I also love that Cain is protective of her and just can't let her go. If this series has the same amount of books as the Dark in you series and really delves deep into all of the characters then this has a really big chance of being my favourite series of hers.

This book really won't disappoint, I don't know how but Suzanne just knows how to write a male lead and she smashes it out of the park every time, Cain is just so protective, strong, mysterious and hot.

I hope the rest of the books come out soon because I need to know what happens next.

Honest Review.

It started off a bit slow for my liking.
Did take a while to get into the story line,
Took me a few days to finally finish it.
I have more questions than answers for this book so hopefully next book answers them.
Overall not bad just need answers now

I was given this ARC for an honest opinion by NetGalley and Little Brown Book Group UK.

I have been wanting to read this book ever since Cain was mentioned in Touch of Rapture and I have to say that whilst I love the story line and the characters I was a little disappointed. At this point I have read the book at least three times trying to work out my feelings on it, and I have really struggled to write this review as whilst I really did enjoy it there are just a few things that don't quite sit right.

The main one being that this does not feel like a completed, stand alone book. If you are a member of Suzanne's readers group on Facebook, you would have seen that she has said that Wynter's and Cain's book was so long that she ended up having to split it into three books, and to me this is noticeable.

I usually love how Suzanne writes the relationship between her protagonists but at this stage of the series they are still very much in the all about sex stage. There is very little interaction between Cain and Wynter outside of sex and whilst they both feel instantly attracted to and possessive of each other, there is very little trust.

Which leads onto my next issue, I had so many questions about the characters before reading the book and honestly I have the same ones at the end. There is very little forward movement in this book in terms character growth/arc, and I still don't really feel like we know who they are.

The reason I think that I am struggling with this so much is because I think that eventually when the other two books are out this is probably going to be one of my favourite series. Suzanne Wright is amazing at writing funny and interesting characters and this book is no different, I loved every member of the Bloodrose Coven. I also love everything about Devil's Cradle and I am so intrigued about the Aeons and the Ancients.

For me personally, this is not book one in the series but merely part one of three that will make up the first book in the series. Which wasn't a problem when Suzanne was self publishing and they would have all been published within six months, but now that it has been traditionally published I am under the impression that the next installment won't be out until next year. Whilst I am happy for Suzanne and I understand that there is a reason for the one book per series a year rule, it feels a little unreasonable to me to expect readers to wait two years to have a completed book.

Once again I really enjoyed this book, it just isn't a complete book for me. I am looking forward to reading the next two installments but will hold off until the third has been published.

Thanks Netgalley and publisher for sending me this e-Arc for my honest review and opinions.
This book was right up my alley, alpha male interesting characters and world.
I was absorbed into this book with the characters chemistry Wynter and Cain had me fanning myself with their sizzling 🥵 heat between them. This was my first time reading this author and I will definitely be reading more from her.
This is the first book in the Devil's Cradle series and I can't wait to see what happens next, I like the different characters and banter and I never felt pulled out of the book I followed it well until the last page because of the way Suzanne Wright writes it just flows and keeps me hooked.
Great start to a new series of dark magic and sizzling hot romance.
Five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I loved and was obsessed with this so much, ithink I own and have read every book now by Suzanne Wright, she’s a goto author for me and I know Im guaranteed a great read. This is the first in a new series from Suzanne. As always she provides us with an independent, strong minded female leadwith plenty of humour and the perfect Dark Alpha males , wonderful stories, plenty of sass and humour, as well as drama and mystery. There is always fantastic chemistry and a great supporting cast of characters too, this was everything I loved and hoped for and I can’t wait for the next book

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a copy in return for an honest opinion

The Wicked In Me has a slightly more darker vibe than usual and is loosely based on biblical mythology with an ancient civilisation reminiscent of Eden called Aeon and characters such as Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel. With his fellow Ancients the hero of the story Cain was cast out and together they formed their own home and so Devil’s Cradle was born. The heroine Wynter, a witch who was murdered and then reborn courtesy of the goddess Kali, was also cast out of Aeon and makes her way to Devil’s Cradle to find sanctuary along with a ragtag group of witches she’s gathered up along the way creating her own coven or crew depending on who you asked but a family by any other name. Cain is instantly intrigued by Wynter, a feeling he hasn’t felt for a long time but both are hiding something from the other. When Wynter came back from the underworld she might’ve been minus her soul but she’d picked up a passenger along the way, one with a secret purpose that even she doesn’t know about.

The start of an amazing new series from Suzanne Wright and The Wicked In Me has everything I’ve come to expect from a book with her name on it. Strong, smart mouthed heroines and uber alpha dark heroes with fantastic, intrigue-filled plots and a rich vein of humour running throughout that will have you snorting back laughter at the sarcastic one-liners coming from the heroine usually aimed but not always at the hapless hero. Occasionally a previous bed bunny of the hero will be dumb enough to draw the sharp tongue of the heroine. Suzanne is just one of those authors where I don’t have to read the blurb, I just know I’m going to buy the book in every format it comes in. With sizzling chemistry between the hero and heroine, a fantastic group of secondary characters and an unfolding plot full of secrets and suspense, I can’t wait for the second book in The Devil’s Cradle to release.

Fantastic start to a brand new series. Full of quirky characters, tight familial bonds and truly explosive chemistry. Cannot wait to see what trouble they get upto in book 2!

Thank you to Little, Brown Books and Suzanne Wright for the advanced copy of The Wicked In Me via NetGalley, in return for my honest and unbiased review.

I loved this book! The plot and characters are fantastic. Cain has quite a few similarities to Knox (Dark in You series) but since I love Knox, I’m happy with that.
Wynter is just awesome. She’s smart, funny, and bloodthirsty. The perfect combination. Her “crew” is a rag-tag group that works so well together and for each other. I laughed out loud so much because of them. Really, all the characters, including the secondaries were great. They brought a lot and enhanced the plot as well as the relationships between each other.

I would say that the romance/relationship is more slow burn between Cain and Wynter than it was between Harper and Knox, which I actually liked. That doesn’t mean it took long for the spice to come. Cain wanted Wynter from the first time he met her and made it happen quickly. But both of them have secrets that made them hold back. And oh boy, what secrets! We got to see their relationship develop more slowly emotionally but still developing into something that will be beautifully solid.

I can’t wait for the next book in this seres
