Thank you Netgalley fro giving me the chance to read and review this book.

The midnight conspiracy b David Leadbeater is book three on his Joe Mason series. In this installment we follow Joe and the team as they take on their very first security job, where they are to delivery an artifact between research professors.
Unfortunately this simple job turns out to be anything but simple when they find at the drop off point the professor being beaten up by unknown mercenaries.
This sudden violence sends Joe and his team on fast paced journey filled with confusing clues, deadly foes and history’s truths.

I really enjoyed learning about this type of history and figuring out the clues alongside everyone else. Along side all the history we learn a lot more about each of the teams personal history and how their own mental states is after the traumas they experienced in book one and two, which created more depth to the characters and added more life to the story.

If I did have one negative is that I felt that the book did wrap up the ending a little bit to quickly, I would have like just a few more pages explaining what happened to what they discovered and what happened to the main villain but this might get recapped in the next book, The Babylon plot, coming out in October.

I fond this book intriguing, fast, thrilling and educational but in no way boring or textbook like. I can’t wait to learn more about Joe, the team and the lost and rare artifacts of the world.

The author knows how to write a good thriller as he once again demonstrates in this entry into an excellent series. With the added benefit of the historical research obvious in preparing this novel, the background for the story gets even better.

A totally gripping thriller which had me on the edge of my seat until I had finished it. The best book in the series, and the other two books were good, but this time the author has excelled himself.

Mr. Leadbeater has a very real talent for creating action and thrills in his stories. I really like “treasure hunt” stories and this one, like all of the series so far, certainly fulfills that passion of mine.

Mr. Leadbeater bases his story loosely on historical events, such as the Knights Templar in this story. The adventure takes off from there. Mason, Roxy, Quaid, Hassell and Sally get involved in another search for a priceless artifact. This one is a very big one!! I like that way the group gets along and they all bring a unique set of skills to the team. Of course there are bad guys looking for it too. The bad guys have a megalomaniacal man running their show. The team moves from cryptic clue to cryptic clue running into the evil do-ers along the way. This is where the action comes into play.

The sad thing about this novel is that I felt the ending was unsatisfactory. The book just ended. I was left without resolution. .

I want to thank NetGalley and Avon Books/HarperCollins Co. UK for forwarding to me a copy of this great book for me to read, enjoy and review. The opinions expressed in this review are solely my own.
